Is the mod supposed to remove certain levers for gates? The one beside wooden shield in Cathedral Ward and the metal gate in Byrgenwerth are missing and the gates are unopenable
Go to Youtube on how to install the shadps4 and a game + mods for it (you can even find some for Bloodborne). Project Beast is a mod like any other - the default install procedure for a mod works fine. For a few optional steps specific to PB - see the Description tab here.
If you are using the BBLauncher, in your Mods folder create a folder called "Project Beast."Download this mod and go inside the dvdps4 root foldrr and copy all of the folders inside to the new Project Beast folder you created. Then just install through the Mod Manager in BBLauncher. All mods work on ShadPS4. Just do not need the dvdps4 root folder, only the stuff inside that folder.
I loved the pacing and the choice to limit the chair warps! (I only realised late on that it was a thing).
My only issue, Byrgenwyth. I did manage to beat rom but had pulled the switch beforehand. In trying to view the cutscene the game would crash.
I was able to start the chain for Yaha~ but I encountered issues from here. I had to create a new version with the vanilla game, copy the save over and go to Yaha~ before loading back in Project Beast (Magnum) which let me progress (Didn't take too long :) )
One thing I would like to ask, the notes talking about Iosefka restored? Nothing new in that chain besides a cloaked NPC outside her door at the start.
It's mentioned there's a rooftop and a trap door you can access in Byrg, I spent quite a long time searching and nothing (If anyone would be kind enough to DM me or respond about that)
How the hell does one get to Yahar'gul with this mod? I'm stumped. I have killed every available boss including both bosses in the UCW, and the door to Yahar'ghul remains shut. Rom is dead, yet I can only get to the Nightmare Frontier. Amygdala dead, nothing. I read a vague reddit comment about an Amygdala in central Yharnam that takes you to Yahar'gul, and I see it, but I can't get it to grab me. Has anyone gotten to Yahar'gul? How did you do it? Can't seem to find Snatchers anywhere either.
Figured it out since, will avoid spoilers but will simply provide the steps:
- Kill Bloodstarved Beast to obtain the Upper Cathedral Ward key - Go to UCW and make your way through. Make sure you pick up the ''Make Contact'' gesture - You need the CREMATORIUM key to open the door to the orphanage. In the base game, this door requires the Orphanage key which is dropped from a brainsucker in the cathedral, but this drop is neither existent or needed in PB - Kill BOTH bosses in the UCW. The 2nd boss is optional in the main game but it isn't here. This boss drops 1/2 pieces of a key that is needed to open the door to Yahar'gul - Go to Central Yharnam and make your way past the initial street with the bonfire, to the area where the troll is bashing against the two doors. - Stand on the ledge (location: https://imgur.com/jkZJAWG) above the dog cages and Make Contact for an extended period (I did for about a minute) - You will now obtain the 2nd part of the key - With both pieces in hand, make your way to Cathedral Ward and go down the right before the final set of ascending stairs into the grand cathedral where you fight Vicar Amelia, make your way all the way down and you'll end up in an area with 2 Slashes gunning you down and 2 executioners rushing at you - Enter the abode here and you'll find an Amygdala looming on the wall. If you hold the Tonsil Stone and let this Amygdala grab you, it'll transport you to the Lecture Building. - If you hold both key items, the door past the Amygdala is open and will lead you to Yahar'gul (https://imgur.com/aYVHoSn)
I also didn't get the key. Had to add it in with a save editor, but then none of the other stages triggered. This and the vertex fix were the only mods I was using.
I don't know If I'm trying this gesture, at this place without something is needed, or if I installed some mod after Magnum Opus... But it won't work. I want to go to Yhara'Gul again and it's being a pain on my a** to try many things that are not working. The last thought I have is to leave the Tonsila Stone in the warehouse and see what happens. If it don't work, I don't know. May be I leave the game.
@BlaCkHAWkZOMBiE @richardn1 @YLF92 You don't get the key right after defeating BSB...
A full guide to enter Yahar'gul is on Page 9 of this thread if y'all want.
If you follow that guide and something doesn't work, then you have a bad mod mix - reinstall the game, add only this mod, the Vertex mod, and the SFXR mod for Intel if you have an Intel CPU - nothing else - and give it another go. The save will still work BUT keep in mind though, that if you've already killed the required boss (see the guide), and received nothing from him, then you have to restart the game completely, the boss won't re-spawn.
@Shinnok789, thanks for the info. Wondering if this is all just because I didn't fight Rom... I tested it again last night on a fresh install of the game with just this, the mandatory hotfix and the vertex explosion fix installed in that order. I noticed that some of the things that'd been missing from my initial attempt (cut weapons and 35 max bullets instead of 20) were there this time.
Someone mentioned any files that replace the gameparam.dcx can break progression/prevent key items from dropping, and the SFXR mod does replace it, so I skipped it on my new install despite having an Intel CPU. This was all before I saw your comment and still thought BSB dropped the key. Do you also have an Intel CPU?
Going to try reinstalling everything yet again just to be safe, make another new character and go find Rom this time. Love being able to finally experience the cut content, but these changes to the progression could mayhaps be optional as they seem a bit unstable and/or confusing to some people.
So note to people who killed Blood Starved Beast earlyish and didn't get the key, if you go back to there sometime after the game state has transitioned a bit further (Maybe after Rom?) you can pick up the key off a corpse that appears towards the back of the boss arena. There'll be 3 enemies there as well so it'll be pretty clear if it's time or not.
The mod tries to have Gehrman hint at this, but I guess depending on when you do things the progression can get messed up and he'll stop referencing the area, instead pointing you towards climbing Oeden chapel before leaving.
Yes. Compatible mods are very few... like SFXR for Intel CPU's and Vertex explosion fix. I recommend you don't use any mod other than those, as they can screw up PB in unexpected ways (missing button interactions, blocking some item drops necessary for your progression into Yahar'Gul, unintended textures on some items, wrong descriptions on some items etc).
I'd really love to try out this mod, but playing on Shadps4, everytime i get hit, the game crashes
Edit: I only have this mod installed, using 60fps, skip intro and 1080p patch, i tried with 30fps but the game feels far too sluggish
The only way i've been able to play is using the SFX from SFXR, but then stuff from the mod get's removed, anyone got any idea?
EditEdit: after many tries, using just frpg_sfxbnd_dlceffects.ffxbnd, frpg_sfxbnd_patcheffects.ffxbnd, frpg_sfxbnd_commoneffects.ffxbnd from SFXR seems to get it working, without overwriting the other files in SFX, my question now is, what is lost from doing that? Will the day and night cycle still work etc?
You need to download the "Bloodborne SFXR Visual FX RESTORATION 3.9 for Intel Crashless (aka Intel Fix) - 60fps Cutscene Fix" mod. READ THE MOD PAGE BEFORE YOU INSTALL!!!
How detrimental is it to add this mod midsave? I had just beaten the Blood Starved Beast and then got it, is content going to be missing or is it just better to start the game with the mod?
Now I'm doing side content and I just discovered the two cut content bosses (Moon Presence & Great One Beast) that you get from buying the new chalices.
Love their design and the look/atmosphere of the arena (very Lovecraftian), just one thing, doesn't the arena (specifically the Skybox and the terrain (Mud/water) effect) look very low res? Anyone else noticed this?

Anyway, you can buy both chalices from the Bath Messenger in the Hunter's Dream AFTER you get the Cosmic Eye Watcher Badge in the upper cathedral area
I just bought both calices in the Hunter's Dream after I found the badge.
I remember that they were there before I got to Yahar'gul
