Currently playing with Mordecai, really cool mod, couple of things though, if I'm not pretty close to enemies Bloodwing will kinda just fly in place even when I'm in combat and enemies are shooting me. Could it be possible for Bloodwing to fly forward a couple feet when summoned? That way you could still stay back a bit and have Bloodwing attack enemies.
I know next to nothing about modding but would taking Mordecai's voice lines from BL1 and using those be possible in the future? Voice lines for looking at loot, killing enemies etc. if not then it can't be helped just a tad grating hearing the same lines over and over.
Edit: Just saw that looking at enemies while summoning can help him target further away enemies but if enemies are hiding behind cover and such that becomes tricky, so I think that Bloodwing flying forward a couple feet so that he can eventually just end up in range to just see them would be neat, that way you can pop out of cover, throw Bloodwing in the direction of the enemies and then go back into cover.
Yeh Bloodwing sometimes does her own thing.. either standing in place or flying around. The AI stuff is rather opaque and very difficult to modify. I spent days to make it so that Bloodwing can go from one enemy to another, instead of sticking to the same enemy like Deathtrap does. But there's no way to just make her move forward a bit like you suggest.
If you have an enemy in the cross-hairs then it will be assigned as priority target, and you can have Bloodwing attack it from reasonably far. But for the rest you're supposed to be in the middle of things alongside her. She won't fight the fight on her own if you're hanging back in cover. In BL1 she wouldn't even attack enemies unless you were looking at them.
As for the voice lines, the problem is that vanilla VH lines are like a stack with different lines that play randomly for each event. I can only replace that with single line, and it can get a bit annoying. Though personally it doesn't really bother me when I play with these mods. Voice lines cannot be imported from BL1 into BL2. Maybe with python it's possible to trigger playing sounds outside of the game. But I'm not sure I'll ever take the time to look into this tbh.
I did, to check if i was doing something wrong i got the Roland and Lilith ones and they worked perfectly. For some reason the Mordecai mod just wont work, is there any notes or anyone whos had this problem before that found a solution?
It's done the same way as Lilith and Roland, so I don't see why it wouldn't work, Check that you have the latest version of the mod, that the DLC configuration checkboxes are properly set in the file (open it with OpenBLCMM). If you still have issues, maybe check/uncheck selectively certain categories (model swap, skills, class mods) to see what works and what doesn't.
Ok im still trying to get this to work, could you do me a favor and tell me the code i need to put into the command con. to activate the mod, im just trying to make sure im not a dummy
I just bought the Pc version for bl2 just for this. Is the BL2 NPC Mordecai model playable as a skin, Or is it just his original model that's playable?
I used the BL2 NPC model, it's not possible to import things directly from BL1. But this mod doesn't just replace the model, all the skills have been re-created and adapted to BL2 as well. Hope you'll enjoy it! (it replaces Gaige btw)
Damn, good shit. I actually prefer the bl2 model anyway. I would've been pleased with just a skin replacer, but the fact that this comes with Mordy's skills (and Blood) is just the cherry on top. Endorsed!
I've never modded Borderlands 2, but this will be the first mod that I download after the mod manager recommended to me by you! I will be sure to leave my thoughts about the mod, and endorse if I like it! (Will be a no brainer since I love Mordecai and can tell a lot of effort goes into your mods! :D)
Great mod! Wasn't sure what to be expecting based on the incredibly vague description, but this is incredibly polished and really replicates the feel of playing Mord in BL1.
Would like to request your assistance in making a small change to your mod. Basically, I want to remove the delay from the ExtraShot from Gun Crazy. I know this is possible based on this Tw0 Fang fix. Have absolutely no idea how I may do this though. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
I think you should be able to use that Tw0 Fang fix, it actually affects the double shot effect on the weapons themselves rather than Zer0's skill... so it should work with Gun Crazy as well. Just import that mod in the same file as mine, in BLCMM. You might need to change it into a level None hotfix. If that doesn't work, I don't know tbh. There are many weapons for which this delay is a problem?
How would you change it to a level None hotfix? Sorry, complete coding noob here haha.
Yeah, Tw0 Fang on Zer0 had a problem that it was borderline useless on any weapon with a fire rate of more than 10. Zer0 doesn't have much fire rate boosts so that isn't always an issue. But Mordy has close to +200% FR on pistols, which makes Gun Crazy pretty underwhelming on every manufacturer except Torgue and Maliwan.
Enable Structural edits / Developer mode in BLCMM settings. Double click on the code line, it should open a new window to edit. On top there is Type (Level or onDemand), Package text field, and Hotfix checkbox. 1) uncheck Hotfix, save file and see if it works in game. 2) if not, re-check Hotfix, set Type to Level, and type Package to None, save file and see if it works in game. I'd guess both should work.

Did you actually play the 3 that I made, or is it just for the comfort of knowing that it exists?

This mod replaces Gaige with Mordecai. Including skills and so on.
(hey, vague description maybe, but I also made a video uhuh)
