first of all: thank you for the mod! I'm playing all the Borderlands games with a friend and we didn't want to start over in TVHM, but the DLCs were way too low in level. So this mod saved us!
There's one issue: currently we are both level 37. And are playing the Captain Scarlet DLC as the first one of all of them. Enemy scaling works and also the loot they drop fits our level. However, mission rewards are always level 30 which is a bummer because they are too low compared to the regular drops. Is there any way to change that?
Mission levels (and the rewards) scale the same way as everything else, EXCEPT that they get fixed once the mission is accepted. So if you accept the mission at level 30, then complete it at level 37, you'll get a level 30 reward. No way to change that, that I know of.
If you're already level 37, I'd still recommend to move on to TVHM for the DLCs. I think that even with my mod the levels will cap at some point in Normal mode. You don't have to complete the whole story in TVHM, you can start the DLCs from the first fast travel station (though maybe better get to Sanctuary first, if you want access to the shops etc).
Yeah, it should cap at LVL 35, but tbh I don't mind that since after that it becomes more about finding loot with higher quality instead of loot with higher levels. That's why we decided to use the mod instead of going TVHM. We already have some nice legendarys we want to keep using.
What's weird is that the missions were freshly accepted. There was one mission yesterday where both of us were level 36 when we accepted it. When we finished it, we were level 37. The reward still was level 30. Missions will also be capped at level 30 in the menu.
I've read that the max. level for Captain Scarlet and Mister Torgue is 30 while it's 35 for Hammerlock, Tiny Tina and the Headhunter packs. And then 38 for the Commander Lilith DLC. Maybe that's the reason?
Yes cap is 30 for Scarlett in vanilla, 35 with this mod. Mission levels (until accepted) are a bit complicated because each one is bound to a specific area, which is not necessarily the area where you get the mission. That's why bounty boards and mission givers may have several missions at different levels. If you have enemies at level 35 in the DLC, it's possible that some missions were still stuck at 30. But I doubt it would be all of them.
We actually moved on to TVHM since we leveled much faster than I anticipated. Leveling is much better, but there are still some issues. Scaling in the big DLCs works fine (we are doing Sir Hammerlock right now), but the missions are stuck at level 39 now. They never go above and mission rewards are stuck at that level too. What's even more weird is that headhunter packs don't scale properly. Enemies were level 39 to 40 while we were already level 44. Loot therefore is bad too. But that's only the case for the headhunter packs. Any idea why?
You should try to complete one of the main missions. As described on the mod page, these are the ones that serve as "scaling events". For the DLCs you may in addition need to save/quit/reload.
So after finishing the Hammerlock DLC, we played a main mission (flame of the Firehawk), so the areas and missions would scale up to our level (we're at lvl 49 now). After finishing the mission however, areas and levels are still stuck at 39 unfortunately. Even quitting the game and entering different areas didn't help. We're currently at the Dust to get a bandit technical to save Roland. Any ideas what we could do? The next DLC on the list would me Marcus Mercenary Day and I don't want to miss out on all the great loot from the train...
Each mission has a min-max level. Firehawk is pretty early in the game, so it might very well max at 39. You have to keep up with the main mission as you level up. And the mod will make previously visited areas and DLCs keep up as well. But you can't have everything at high level if you don't progress the main mission.
Thanks! We actually found a solution: I downloaded a save from Nexus where all the main missions were completed in all modes. Then I used Gibbed and imported the mission information from that save into our save. This made every enemy scale up to around level 50. I then reimported the mission information of our save, so we got our open missions back and it kept enemies at level 50. So now we're good to go for the rest
Yes, if the area scales, the enemies in it too, and the items they drop scale as well (meaning you can obtain certain legendaries several times at different levels during the playthrough).
They scale up at the moment you finish the last main quest (to 30 in Normal, 50 in TVHM). In Normal, beating the Terra mission should make everything scale to 35. Then they don't scale further, time to move on to the next playthrough.
The mod was working fine until I forgot execute it before playing, I then saved and quit to the main menu and executed it but the enemies (I think) all scaled to my mission's level instead of mine, I went to the low level areas like southern shelf and they're all level 10-12 (I'm level 16)
I think it's normal... if you forget to apply the mod once, the area levels might change a bit. But if you complete the next main mission with the mod,, it will recompute the levels. That said, the area levels depend on stroy progression, and will not always match your level exactly.
If you use the SDK mod "SDK Autorun" then you wouldn't need to run it after every launch. Here's a link to the mod: https://bl-sdk.github.io/mods/SDKAutorun/
Great mod. I would have a few questions: 1. If I forget to activate the mod in TVHM and go into a DLC where enemies level 30-ish (like commander Lilith), if i leave the area and go back with mod activated does it scaling the area to 50 (warrior defeated)? 2. Is there a way to automaticly exec the mod when i start the game? 3. Is there an ingame indicator if the mod active?
And also as far as I understand the Installation description is very outdated. All you need is HexMulti and area.txt . I was really confused with the blcmm, which was basically only extracting the blm file to a txt. However If you upload the txt then we dont need this program at all. (now thinking it more it might be there for merging multiple mods together as "standard" but Its confusing. I will suggest a new installation guide in comment when I will have time.
I'm using the mod because uvhm slag everything playstyle doesn't fit to me, so wanted to play all DLC-s on TVHM. Sold all my level 50+ gear and bought 50 white ones to have a good balanced restart for tvhm. Now I need to figure out how to level back my character to 50 from 55. And maybe if its possible limit level cap to 50 (there was an option in hexMulti for that). It will be great. Thank you!
1. Yes should be no problem. What the mod cannot do is scale areas back down in DLCs (if they got scaled up too high in vanilla after forgetting to run the mod). 2. Maybe with python sdk, not sure 3. no, except area levels
Indeed, you don't absolutely need BLCMM if you use only one single mod. But it is needed otherwise, so should be the standard installation method.
Not sure there really is a good method to play all the game's content in TVHM. Game isn't designed for this. If there is an option for capping at 50 in hexmulti, great. If not, put your level back down to 50 with a save editor every once in a while, Or, there are a bunch of mods that make UVHM easier.
I think I try to complete all DLCs on TVHM. That sounds a perfect solution for me. Will see if I encounter any balance issue with this mod on the not supported TVHM 50 content. :) Hope not. Decided to not limit the character level, worst case I edit my character back if it feels I gained too much HP for overleveling.
Btw I think this mod should be integrated into an official patch. Its really bad that lot of content don't scale to 50 after Warrior in TVHM. Thats basically ignoring a huge portion of playerbase who would love to play on TVHM and not really fan of UVHM.
What bunch of mods can make UVHM easier (less enemy HP)? I might try those If you could recommend. I've seen Nifshara UVHM rebalance mod on internet - haven't tried it yet. If that works that could be good since it mentioned halving enemy HP and shield.
UVHM can be punishing the first time around, and you have to adapt your playstyle... but after getting used to it, I find it's really not particularly difficult (some people play comfortably at OP8-10 so there's still a big margin). And it is interesting as it gives incentive to learn more about how your character works, etc. In the end I'm really glad I pushed through the first time I tried UVHM. And I've heard/read other people say exactly the same thing. But too each its own of course. You can check here, but I never played with any of those, so I can't tell you more.
Yes, sure. You can switch whenever between using the mod or not using it. Only issue is if you play one of the DLCs at lower level than possible in vanilla, and then forget to apply the mod for the next session (but this is described in known issues on the mod page).
very fickle mod by that I mean it don't like gibbed, tried skipping to trvhm stopped working other than that it was fine. did a fresh install working rn try deleteing your borderlands 2.exe then apply it if your having issues.
