Even though it's 25 years too late, I'll post this for people who read this and are new to the modding scene.
The "directory" or "file directory", is the folder that contains the game's data. If you are on steam, you can quickly learn this by right clicking the game on the Library tab in your Steam account, and then selecting Properties. This will open new smaller window.
From that window select: "Installed Files" and then "Browse". This will open up the folder of your game's directory :)
It is on this folder that you will "drag and drop" the mods. You will be asked to overwrite certain files, which is the intent.
This is the result of a generation or two of people brought up on Apple devices. You tell them to put the files into the game directory and they don't understand that a game is installed on their computer, in the form of files, and that all you have to do is drag and drop into the single folder that exists on their computer with the software name... in the default location software is installed to... which is also a single location.. like, what?? lol this was second nature to me by the time I was 9 or 10 years old
I saw a comment from the standalone mod for Extended Draw Distance mentioning that it causes the Go-Kart track to disappear, and the same thing happens with this version. Not sure if there is a possible fix but I will be removing that part of the mod, sadly.
There's the HD Texture Overhaul Mod in the recommended, but isn't that mod unfinished? A lot of comments there say that it makes the game bug or glitch when you get to the Winter chapter.
Found how to fix the crash after the intro scene. Before copying the Anniversary Edition HUD files. go into the file TXD/lsw, Find the file named fade.nft and delete it. Now copy the TXD folder to the bully directory. Game shouldn't crash now. Found the fix on another site.
hi bro, just saw your comment now its very strange this error you are getting i play on steam version of the game, and i re downloaded the game and installed all the files and all working good, just notice the Anniversary Edition Hud have to be put in bully folder first) next, you need to put the folder that are inside "bully anniversary edition extended hud" (stream folder) inside your bully folder, open the stream folder you will see a install.exe, click on it,wait for finish, and you ar done!
Its all good. yeah i intalled just the hud first then then the hud extended then the install. So far I only talked to one person that's encountered this error. Everything is working fine after I deleted the fade.nft file and its worked so far no crashes or anything. Thanks for messaging me back sorry i've been enjoying bully again!
Bumping this because I have the same issue with the Anniversary Edition HUD mod crashing/freezing the game during the intro. The information provided by GrimZ3r0, by deleting the fade.nft WORKS. I haven't played much, so I can't vouch for the stability in the long run & future missions, but at the very least, doing this will help you get past the intro scene without freezing/crashing.
Edit: After playing for a while, there's seem to be more crashes with the HUD mod enabled, specifically when entering classes. It's not exactly replicable, because after getting a CTD and reloading your save to go back into that said class, that class minigame will sometimes works. But after playing for a while and attending another class / activating mission, there's a huge chance of another CTD. I tried reverting back to vanilla HUD, doing a "stress test" by playing like an hour while also doing multiple missions and classes, and there's haven't been any CTD so far. It's unfortunate, but Bully engine is just so unstable that I rather not took my chances. I'll just stick with Vanilla HUD. But please, feel free to test it yourself. It might be just my PC or some incompatibility with other mods. Also I'm using the Steam version of the game if you're curious.
Edit: Nevermind, fixed. Was adding the folder itself to the game folder. Adding the contents of the silent patch folder into the game folder instead was the fix
