Does anyone know if there is a way to get this mod to work on SteamDeck? I am trying to run ChronoMod through Bottles but that doesnt work because it isolates it in a Windows instance that doesn't have access to the game files. Is there a way to just copy and paste the mod files directly to the game directory? Any one else had any success modding this on the SteamDeck?
Hi, I know this is late. I just succesfully modded CT on Steam Deck. I just added ChronoMod.exe to Steam as non-steam game, enabled proton for it and it just launched. I then showed the program where are CT .exe and .bin files and then I was able to mod the game according to instructions. The only caveat is that when you press CTRL+S to apply the mod, when the progress bar hits 100%, the ChronoMod will freeze. Give it a minute and then force close it, the mods will be applied.
Haven't installed yet as I caught this before turning into bed, but, I was wondering if it's possible to install this mod and incorporate just the Font and unique colored UI. I'm satisfied with how the steam version looks so far with just my own ReShade preset but the aforementioned features intrigued me. To whom it may concern thanks for reading and perhaps replying :-)
Since it's not possible to confine the ATB-bar within the battle-UI, is it maybe possible to remove to healthbar while keeping the ATB-bar below the characters instead(and maybe make it white instead of yellow)?
Love this mod, endorsed - mainly for the SNES font. What was Square Enix thinking, giving us a font designed for the DS or maybe even GBA, with no alternative? At least the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters have smooth fonts.
The other UI changes are nice too, although perhaps not as critical.
As far as replacing the HD filtered assets with original size assets, personally I'd be happier with proper HD textures (i.e. ones that have been hand-edited to look good, instead of lazily slapping a filter on original textures), but based on what little I've read so far about implementation details of the textures, that might turn out to be more effort than it's worth.
Yeah, so glad Square gave us the horrendous mobile font for the FF pixel remasters, with no alternatives, instead, that clashes with everything in the games. Without mods to fix all the questionable design decisions those games wouldn't even be worth considering.
Unfortunately, Pressing Ctrl+P in Chronomod.exe (Release 1.4) doesn't seem to do anything, And I'm unable to load "CTPDMain.ctp" patch from the "Main File" folder. Could you please assist me? When I opened Chronomod.exe (Release 1.4), the "LOAD PATCH (CTRL+P)" option is greyed out! EDIT- ITS WORKING
OK, for anybody struggling as I was - when you load ChronoMod, you need to load the game exe and bin file first, then load in each patch that you want and once done save (crtl-S). The patching the game stuff at the end isn't needed unless using the PS controller or Steam Deck. Finally, to use the reShade file, place the ini in the games directory and then download and install reshade (google it), on its installation wizard you point to ChronoTrigger's exe file and select OpenGL and finally point to the shader ini.
This guide doesn't make any sense at all. Where is this "Main File" folder even located? Where is the file I'm looking for? Where is anything? This guide needs better instructions and I fully expect a condescending reply from the author. Bring it on.
