Put in folder- AppData\Local\Sandfall\Saved\Config\WinGDK , this is game pass location. Steams location- AppData\Local\Sandfall\Saved\Config\Win64 *Make sure to change it to read only in properties(right click-Properties-Read only-apply)* **there will be no Engine.ini in folder, only a Gameusersettings.ini at first**
BIG PSA Right-Click on engine -> Properties -> check "Read-Only" box -> Apply/OK Otherwise when you turn the game off it deletes the engine file out of the folder and goes back to being a blurry mess. Other than that, mod works great. Real night and day difference on the overworked. Idk what the devs were thinking with that blurry mess.
Probably very dumb question, but it's worth asking. Is it compatible with mods that target performance issues? For example most optimization mods, I wonder if it would be ok merging the two engine.ini files?
Yeah if you are using any other engine.ini file you can just copy what ever lines you want into the other one under the [SystemSetttings] section. Im sure others are adding r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0 to theirs by now... besides those weirdos that love that sort of mess :)
Thanks for the explanation! And also thank you SO MUCH for this mod, the post-processing stuff was so bad that I felt nauseous and unable to focus on the game, but with some settings adjustments + your mod + clairobscurfix + optimized tweaks coe33 it has become so nice to play and to look at! I keep receiving compliments by my friends whenever I share screenshots from the game. Really I can't thank you enough!
I'm also using the Ultimate Engine Tweaks (Anti-Stutters - Lower Latency - No Film Grain - No Chromatic Aberration - Lossless) Any ways to add the depth of field disable effect in this mod😰
neither of them are "mods" per se, they are modifing the engine.ini which is like a hard code for the settings. I am attaching an image here. You could, in theory just copy paste the settings changed in this mod and add them to the other one, just double click the engine.ini files and open them with the notepad. It really is as simple as that, delete the ones in the Ultimate Engine Tweaks and replace them with the ones you want. The one in red is this mod and the one in blue are from another mod, I just pasted them on another notepad to show it off to you, I am going to pick and choose if I want the old one or one of the mods, here you can see there is some overlap so I will need to clean it up. If you are lazy just do ctrl+F to search for the text and that's it. Don't forget to change the engine.ini to "Read only" in properties when you're done otherwise this and your other mod will basically be pointless whenever you close the game it will reset to default
In theory should be able to add r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0 under there PostFX settings at bottom under tonemapper.sharpen. Also if you have console enabled you can always just put r.DepthOfFieldQuality 0 (no =) into the console.
having same issue, i cant even figure out how to config the engine.ini file (there isnt one) (we have some wierd folder called wingdk witha game user.ini file instead) but the edits dont work in it either?? i tried the prefix sg.fog (example) and it doesnt work, neither does the prefix r.fog (example)
how do we get this to work with the gamepass version? <3 it has a gameuser.ini file instead and a folder called wingdk instead of windows foldeer :/
Hey there, For the game pass version. If you open file Explorer then at the top where it shows what files you're in. Copy this... %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\WinGDK
And paste it. It should take you to where you need to put this file.
Also big PSA then Right-Click on engine -> Properties -> check "Read-Only" box -> Apply/OK
Let me know if that works. It'll be 100% night and day noticeable on the overworld where your characters are small.
Put in AppData\Local\Sandfall\Saved\Config\WinGDK there will be no engine file. Just put this one in the folder. after changing it how ever you want just make sure to save then right click and under properties mark as read only then hit apply. If you dont change anything you still have to set as read only.
Not sure. It will help with the blur around the edges and what not. Linux... your guess is as good as mine. where ever other games store the same kind of data for unreal engine. Look for folder called Sandfall
It only allows 8mb screenshots. I play at 4k which means if really needed Id have to do them at like 1080p which I have been to lazy to do. But will if its that important. I can 100% you want to remove the dof/blur for when your in the big open map areas where there overly use it for... reasons... probably performance but I didn't notice much of a drop if any.
thanks this worked perfectly. I also added r.fog=0 r.VolumetricFog=0 to get rid of that horrendous fog. idk why devs keep adding all this Post-processing to these games. its makes them look and perform worse.

also what would be the install location for linux?
I was wondering why the bloom was still so intense, it was the fog, so much detail hidden behind it.
Thanks mate!
