Can we keybind the dodge to the mouse button 5? This way I can dash with mouse button 4, but dodge with mouse button 5. I'm actually not good with using double tap movement keys.
like u put in useless information about why would u use this mod, like u are selling a product for free or some s#*!, but u cant put in actually useful information about how to actually use it?
So, to palliate that, this script simulates that you don't have bought the perk for dash when you double-press the movement buttons, having then a dodge action with movement keys, and dash with the dedicated button. The best of both worlds!
TL;DR: Get again dodge (not dash) action with movement buttons; do dash (if bought) only with dedicated button.
I remember a similar mod from before with dedicated dodge button. The wasd bacome dodge button by simply tapping them once. But holding them made you dodge once, but then continue to walk/run after if you kept holding.
Would it be possible to do something similar with dash?
With WASD and double-pressing them a dodge/dash is done, and keeping it pressed makes you to continue walking (that's the default behavior of the game). If a mod can do dodge/dash with a single press then you would continue the normal movement if you keep that key pressed.
In any case, I don't know if that mod was done just overriding the key codes or using a part of the script I'm not familiar with... There are mechanics of the game that have to be changed with other things that are not redscripts, and that's something I have not taken a look at it yet :) .
That seems to be what's happening to be now. I wasn't sure whether I had this installed or not. I was confused by the double-tap thing for ages, so I turned that on the other day. Great, can dash now.
I installed this mod to make sure, and I think I'm dodging if I double-tap (I only know because Kerenzikov activates if I'm aiming), but to dash, I now need to hold control, double tap, and then keep moving in that direction. I think that's what I was doing anyway.
I'll have another play with it later because I'm confusing myself, but the ability to be able to do both as required is precisely what I'm after, so thank you.
Yes, look at this one, also mine: https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2935
It disables dodge/dashing when crouched and non in combat. You only have to edit the script to remove the crouched part and it will not dodge/dash if you are not battling.
Glad to read it! Sorry for the delay in the answer, my job kept me away from gaming a while. And yes, I confirm it still works with no problem. Many times the problem of these scripts not working with the new game patches is that CET + redscript also have to be updated to their newest versions. Also, sometimes the application of the patch deletes some required files from that tools and they don't work correctly until reinstall.
In any case, if the game programmers don't update the script system or redefine internal objects widely (as they did with 2.0), redscript mods should work as before.
Playing on 2.1 this works perfectly. What an incredibly useful mod for stopping dashes to sudden death, after acquiring the dash perk. Endorsed.
Dodge is just a double tap of a WASD key but for anyone out there like me who struggled to understand what key enabled dash (maybe just me) I realised that double tapping L-CTRL whilst holding a WASD key activated the dash. I personally found this a bit awkard but simply assigned the L-CTRL key binding in the game settings to a mouse key, which only needs a single press + WASD to activate dash. Just in case this helps anyone looking for relief from dash hell. This is a must-have mod.
You always have a "dodge" key assigned, normally left-control, that you must press while moving to do a dodge/dash in that direction. In the settings, you can additionally activate or deactivate dodge action by double-tapping the movement keys (like a double-click of the mouse), which is many times more useful, as it works standing stopped.
The action is the same for the game, either double-tapping or pressing the button, and once you buy the dash perk you can only dash, not dodge. With this mod, you can have again both actions, and at the same time avoid dashing with movement, which is very annoying when it activates in a delicate moment such as doing parkour.

No matter if I hold the keybind or not my character only dodges never dashes.
And most importantly, thumbs up

If you cannot read properly it's not my problem.
