I can't open the mod through CET. It appears in the target, and nothing happens. Could someone explain why? I have all the dependencies updated. But I don't use AMM. Thanks
1. First is with saving appearances. For example, I am trying to change clothes on Melissa Rory. I have tried spawning her appearance with the default, maxtac uniform, and then toggle off all her gear, and replace just the 2 or 3 things to their appropriate slot. In this case, a top, bottoms and shoes (torso, legs, feet). Simple. I click export, the appearance gets added to the list, then when I click it, I get a Melissa with her added mod items plus all her other maxtac gear.
I've also tried spawning in naked Melissa, added the top, bottoms, shoes and a default game hair cut, click export, it gets added to the list, then when I click on that appearance, she's either naked and bald again or, she's wearing all her gear! I don't get it. I was able to save an appearance on my first try yesterday doing what I thought were those simple steps, but now it refuses. I know I'm missing one simple little step here, but I don't know what it is.
2. Second issue is I'm getting A TON of crashes when using ACM. I'll spend 10 minutes getting 2 or 3 spawned npcs looking just right, posed up, then bam, crash. Sometimes it's just from changing a pose, moving the camera, opening the director camera, closing the director camera, opening photo mode, changing an NPC's expression, etc, etc. It is just about any random thing you can do in ACM, the game can and does crash. I only installed ACM yesterday on my latest fresh install, and I wasn't crashing before, so it's definitely ACM or a combo of it and another mod that it doesn't like. What are some common causes for crashes in ACM? My Nvidia 4070 sucks? My video settings are too high? Pathtracing for photomode shouldn't be set to on? Don't try to take photos in a modded apartment? Any ideas, would be much appreciated.
3. Not actually an issue. I was hoping someone might have a good link to an "ACM for dummies" youtube video, or an online "how to" guide they would be willing to share. This mod isn't intuitive to my old, slow brain at all, and I need to go to ACM school. 😅
okay, the amazing beaniebby just helped me out quite a bit! Turns out Melissa Rory is a huge pain in the but to edit in ACM. Apparently she has some mesh slots that act up. I spent HOURS fighting with Melissa to get her into a bikini (she really loves being a cop I guess), and after beaniebby pointed out her troublesome mesh slots, I was able to get Cheri to not only wear the bikini, but the appearance saved perfectly 1st try! Took all of 15 seconds. 🤦♂️
Anyhoo, any links to ACM tutorials or "idiot's guides" would still be appreciated. Thanks!
can someone tell why i can't see the clothes mods in the mesh list? i'm try to get my npcs to wear them and yes i followed the Wolvenkit method but nothing shows up
PLEASE can someone explain how to convert the exported appearances to work on the photomode versions of the NPCs with Photomode-EX and Photomode NPCs Extended? I'm losing my mind trying to figure it out
For anyone also lost on this, I figured out the best way to do it. Open Photomode and add the NPC you want, and then using that model (NOT an AMM spawn), create and export your outfits. They won't show up in Photomode under the outfits category, but they're there in AMM for the Photomode version of the NPC and you can just change their appearance that way. Hope that helps someone! :)
anyone know how to get the mesh codes for clothing if the mod author doesn't list them on their description tab? Only a very, very small percentage of clothing has them listed as of now.
Sadly there is no easy way that I've found to do this, but here is a crappy guide to using WolvenKit to figure it out:
1. Download and install Wolvenkit properly.
2. When it's all set up right, fire it up and click continue to editor.
3. Click load asset browser read only. You might have to change it to this mode in the middle window.
4. Click Mod Browser.
5. Find the mod you want to locate the mesh files for.
6. Once you find the mesh, right click and copy relative path. This path should be the correct one to use in ACM, with the .mesh and everything.
As for colors, you can usually figure it out what they are by poking around in the files. I hope this helps someone it took me a bit to figure it all out.
I'm struggling with the colours, I can get the mesh no issue that loads and works great but when I dig in the archive for the texture, I find an "mlsetup" with the named colour I want attached, I copy the path and paste it to the ACM "Mesh Appearance" and load mesh and load appearance but the colour never changes. What am I doing wrong?
Hey there, any reason as to why my saved appearances wouldn't just outright load? I made sure to export the new appearance and spawned a new NPC of that character to test out the new look but it only ended up loading either the default appearance with a bit of the new export, or it'll just spawn with no difference.
i found a way to do it. u have to blacklist every other appearance and than create own apperance. in the same folder where u can switch clothes, at the top u can export (create own) apperance.
Edit: I tested it with Judy and it seemed to work just fine with the 2.2 photomode update npcs. I am using Photomode-EX and Photomode NPCs Extended though
Would be really cool if there was a way to save appearances in the mod and add them to the photomode appearances, though.
