The mod adds 3 new bikes to the game. The driving attributes of these bikes are based on the default yaiba kusanagi and arch nazare bikes, so I recommend you use a mod such as Cyber Vehicle Overhaul or Car Modification Shop for a better driving experience.
Any update changes will be found in the changelog section.
I would also like to say that this is just a mod. If it does not meet your standards and expectations, PLEASE do not use it.
It is nice to see that you guys liked the mod and I hope you enjoy it in game, even if it is not a QOL mod, or any other of the amazing game enhancing mods out there. Thank you all for the kind words! Please show some love to djkovrik and heero139 for helping me with this!
First off, this mod is genuine peak. Unironically the best bike mod I've EVER used (I love bikes sm). Just wanted to get that out the way. Now, I'm not a modder, so I'm not sure how possible this is, but would there be any way to make some particular changes to Oni? I just saw the post about the sound design (very tragic because that was my first thought), however there are some other things to consider when looking at a hover bike.
To start, hover bikes don't have breaks. There's no wheels, therefore no wheel to grab when breaking. Well, if there are no breaks, how is it supposed to stop? I'm so glad you asked! Would it be possible to add a/some forward facing thruster(s) (in a non obvious aesthetic fashion that you clearly have an amazing eye for ofc) that would activate when decelerating? At the same time, the rear thruster would shut off, and the hover bike would have the immersion effect of coming to a halt by physics rather than magic.
While on the topic of thrusters, I was wondering if it would also be possible to make the thruster intensity dynamically scale with the throttle (a flame that grows larger as you throttle harder rather than a maximum power flame regardless of the throttle input)? Again, I'm not a modder, so this might be insanely difficult, if at all possible, but if it could be done it would be amazing.
Lastly, because it doesn't have any axle friction to overcome, nor does it have tire friction to break, do you think it would be possible to make it accelerate faster and decelerate slower? Would it also be possible to increase it's top speed, since it's only fighting against air friction, and should theoretically be like how a jet is to a car when comparing it to a bike? Of course I don't expect unrealistically difficult to control speeds and handling, but rather some more minor tweaks to make it feel more floaty, even though it's technically on a bike model.
Of course, these are just my personal suggestions/requests. Regardless, this is an amazing mod, and the Oni bike is one of my favorites changes or no (even though they're all so good!!!). Thanks again for making this mod, and best of luck with all future projects!!
You are right about hover vehicles not having brakes like a car or a motorcycle do. Just from a design perspective, in the case of Oni, the forward thrusters would be located at the front insets of the side elements attached to the side bumpers. In an ideal case, I would have made the front thrusters engaging when you brake. Perhaps a combination of the brake lights and the exhaust elements of the game could be edited and combined, to make them face forward and alter their visuals and effects, but even then, the result might not be correct. I would have to test this theory and there are no guaranties of making it work. As for the rear thrusters, dynamically changing their intensity depending on the acceleration is something I simply don't know how to do.
On the matter of altering the acceleration and deceleration of Oni, that would require a lot of testing from my part. I would need to change values and load the mod, test the driving, exit the game, change values again, and redo this process over and over and over, for as many times as needed until the vehicle would be functioning properly. I have intentionally avoided making any custom settings for the driving attributes for any of my bikes, in order to keep the mods working without issues in terms of driving and at the same time being compatible with other mods that alter driving attributes.
I want to point out that I do not disagree with your ideas about the Oni, but I really do not have the will to dedicate the time and energy needed to either try to find how to implement frontal thrusters and dynamic rear ones, or do the driving changes that you suggest/request. I am sorry to disappoint you, but I am just being honest. And I do not want to say "I will look it up and perhaps in the future", because that might just not happen.
I will close up by thanking you for taking the time to write your message, as well as for the kind words. Take care.
These are awesome! The Cephalorhynchus is my new all-time favorite bike. Looks so futuristic. They all do, but that bike is especially cool looking. Fits in well with the CP2077. I've ridden motorcycles all my life and would love one irl :)
I was interested to read in one of your posts that the name Cephalorhynchus has some root words from Greek. I like that kind of stuff. I looked it up and it's also a scientific name for a dolphin. It does look a little dolphinish now to me lol.
Anyway, love these. Thanks for the fun motorbikes! Efcharistó :)
Edit, how did I miss that? HA. I usually read all the description :)
You are welcome BILLthecat! Regarding the name, there is a section at the bottom of the description page where I mention why I used the name Cephalorhynchus :). Also, there is a light feature at the underside of that bike, which I think nobody has noticed. It is kind of hard to see after all :).
"Q: Why Cephalorhynchus? A: It is a black and white dolphin subspecies. I wanted the bike to be black and white and from the side it looks like a dolphin to me."
Just wanted to say I love the style of the new bikes. The Oblivion reminds me of the Tom Cruise movie, I assume thats on purpose. I was however blown away by the style of the Oni, its the second ever jet bike that I've seen made, and yours is of superior design, the only thing that threw me off about it was that it still sounded like a normal bike. Is there any plans of giving the Oni some custom sounds?
As I have said in the past regarding sound design for the bikes in general, I do not know how to extract the game audio files so I can see how they are structured, and none of the existing files make any more sense than the ones used in this mod and in my Edge motorcycle mod. Also, I do not own an audio creating/editing software to make new sound files, so that is an issue as well. I would have liked to give the bikes their own unique sounds, but alas I can't do that due to the aforementioned reasons.
Having said that, and again, as I have said in the past, if anyone knows how to extract the game audio files, they can contact me and we can talk about it. Lastly but not least, thanks for the kind words about the mod. I hope you have fun with it.
P.S. The Oblivion bike does have some resemblance to the one in the movie you mention, probably due to the name as well, but that was not intentional.
The moddeling of such a bike is not the issue (except the time that will be needed to make one). The problem is that it will required new rigging for V, meaning that the position of the bones of the model for sitting and driving such a bike would have to be changed/created, and I do not know how to make new animations and add them to the game. So, based on that, the answer is no I am afraid... But, if anyone knows how to do this properly, they can contact me and we can talk about it.

amazing mod
any chance you could do something similar with the hoverbike in this mod?
