For thoses who want a more advanced system like instant recovery for all throwables, or an ammo system, sadly my modding knowledge is limited, so iv done what im able to do. Even creating a recovery shortcut button for manual recover is probably out of my realm.
For thoses who want an "infinite" recovery, iv made an alternative file that increase by 100 seconds instead of reducing which will make the opposite of the main file goal and force you to walk to your knife every time, but only if you dont take the Juggler perk, as you will still have the auto recover mechanism with this. So infinite version + no juggler perk shoult result in player having to walk for recover the blade no matter where and how it have hit.
Thanks for the 100 second part! I love using throwing knives, but had to force my self to not use them since theyre op. Now i can use them and have it be more balanced.
If you want infinite delay just use 100 as value in the tweak file, this will result in very long recovery, and so virtually "infinite". I dont think there is going to be any case where you will spend more than a hundred seconds before being able to recover your knife, so you will not see the difference. Plus like this you will still recover it in case of memory issues hahaha
About the button its out of my knowledge sadly, would have been great for simulating my idea of a magnetic field that allow you to call back the knife. With a return animation like in God of War it would be amazing, but i dont think any modders here have the time and animations specific knowledges that are mandatory for achieving this

aw - but thanks for reading and replying! i think theres good enough animations already from vanilla knife recovery in the game - but it needs someone to bind the recovery function to a hotkey i guess yea.

About the key binding for recovering it sadly my modding knwoledge is limited and i dont have time for learning advanced things, too much things to do and others passions haha
Same for infinite delay, the only worarround i can recomend is to put really big value, like 100 seconds, this will result in kind of infinite delay and still recovering it in case you forget it.
If someone want to update my mod to include true infinite delay or a key biding to recover, you re free to do so and publish it ;)
Hm infinite delay would be nice... Or a sorta ammo system. Like in rdr2 -> 8 knives, go pick em up or get new ones. Iconics would idk, come back after you go away (so you dont lose the iconic)

god of war (throwable axe recovery) shows with animation and sfx it can actually be a satisfying small mechanic.
