I'm not fixing any bugs or issues with the main mod, I just restored some altered NPC files so that exotics are rare. An alternate method to using this mod would be to edit the original mod's files and delete the edited citizen files.
I am aware of that, i was just asking about how you installed the mods, as trying to make sense of the greater situation with the exotics mod seems very complicated. And since youve just made a mod for it, you might know something i dont.
I installed them manually. If you only want rare background NPCs and nothing else and you're using all the "fix" mods you should have the following files: !!RareExotics.archive (this mod) 0w0_exoticsFix.archive (optional, just drop it into the PC archive folder instead of RedMod) 1_ExoticsRetexture_NPC.archive (optional, rename to !1_ExoticsRetexture_NPC.archive so it takes priority over the above mod) exoticsco.archive ExoticsCO-BackgroundNPCs.archive
This isn't compatible with the 2.2 fix, "Biosculpted Exotics Retexture and Fixes", could you updated it? Or at least show us what you changed to decrease the spawn of furries?
i wouldn't use the furry mod but they should be rare if only to be consistent with the lore of the setting, as they went out of style decades ago. same reason there are no posergangs anymore; an in-game shard even talks about this.
but how rare have you made them? the description could use more info.
They're quite rare now. On average I see one every 2 hours or so, but I play with low crowd sizes, so your mileage may vary.
Also I totally agree with you. I'm personally a furry but I think lore is more important than anthro representation. That's the main reason I made this adjustment, seeing exotics literally everywhere made an otherwise canonical mod less than lore-friendly.
i disagree. die hard furries would probably still be at it, they're dogged like that, but exotics as a wide scale ongoing thing over 50+ years? not a chance. we all like to overestimate our particular subculture's presence in greater society based on internet popularity or concentration on particular social networks, but come on.
Is it possible that the rarity could be made configurable somehow? Regular biosculpted is too common, but the current setting of this mod might be a little too rare for my taste.
Feels almost too rare with the current settings, to the point where you could go the whole game without seeing an exotic, kind of rare?
Also how common the adverts are also gives a worldbuilding impression that its something biotechnica is putting a lot of effort into advertising, so would need to change for this mod to sell the rarity of them imo.
Do I need the original Biosculpted Exotics mod? Is the existence of 'exotics' lore-friendly to 2077? I know they exist to some degree in the TTRPG but I'm not sure about their relevance to the game's setting. Not a furry by any means but I want to include all immersive elements I can, which would include this if it's relevant!
I didn't get the prompt but I saw it's required. Installed and testing now!
Could you allow an option to toggle off the player being an exotic? The original mod page says I have to delete files but I'd much rather have the ability to toggle.
This mod doesn't affect V at all. When installing the original mod if all you want is exotic NPCs then you just need the exoticsco.archive and ExoticsCO-BackgroundNPCs.archive

From what im seeing even the mod that fixes the main mod has issues.
!!RareExotics.archive (this mod)
0w0_exoticsFix.archive (optional, just drop it into the PC archive folder instead of RedMod)
1_ExoticsRetexture_NPC.archive (optional, rename to !1_ExoticsRetexture_NPC.archive so it takes priority over the above mod)
exoticsco.archive
ExoticsCO-BackgroundNPCs.archive
At least is what that mod says on it's page /:
