really excited to use this mod but i just got to the salvage yard to try and sell a car and i get a message on my screen saying that "dexter deshawn has politely requested that we do not do business with you" anyone know why?
EDIT: nevermind im stupid i didnt read the whole mod description, have to get the plan b pistol first
I just started using the mod and so far I like it! One suggestion if possible: any way to make the icon for a scrap yard be distinct in some way? The generic gig icon is too... generic.
Maybe the wrench icon?
Regardless, I appreciate the work you've already put into this mod, and you obviously are very active in fixing bugs and enhancing it. Kudos!!!
When turning my frames drop from 90ish fps - 20ish fps. but only when turning. very odd, took a long time to track this down as i didn't expect it to be this mod. i really don't see anything that should cause this in the mod so i assume it may be a conflict with another mod but haven't been able to track it down.
I have an update coming soon (hopefully within a few hours) that adds checks to ensure everything only happens precisely when it needs to and not at any other times (hopefully), which should help (again, hopefully...lol)... It's also adding a few more things in the CET overlay, which I imagine people will like...
Just need to do some testing to ensure that everything triggers and resets to trigger again properly for different events (like loading new save, fast traveling, playing a mission, opening/closing the world map, etc... Everything's in place now, just still testing it all)...
I can confirm that this mod causes severe fps drops for me as well, into the single digits. Weirdly, it seems to happen mostly in combat scenarios, but it also persists for a while after combat has finished. No idea why, but removing this mod cleared that problem up entirely.
What triggers the FPS drops? Turning the camera (or any user input) doesn't trigger anything at all anymore in the mod, so that shouldn't drop FPS (the game's FPS always drops slightly when turning the camera anyway, at least for me, but I'm GPU limited, not CPU so might be different for all of you)...
Driving up and down the road near the shore/river in Japantown seems to cause stutters/hitching, the average FPS is still the same (at least for me) though, mind you. If I combine this mod with CyberTrials the problem worsens - I've tried this with a couple of game saves but the behaviour is the same.
I can take a couple of videos (with and without) if you think it'll help?
For reference I'm using a 4090 with a 7950X3D at 1440p (DLSS Quality and FG on) with Path Tracing, so I'm likely CPU bound in Watson and Japantown.
Edit: Only for this mod atm, not CyberTrials yet... I'll get to that ASAP (likely in the morning as it's getting quite late tonight)...
Edit 2: CyberTrials has also been updated now... Basically the same changes... Nothing updates/calculates until it absolutely needs to and nothing at all updates while in a vehicle or in combat and not in a race or editing a track...
what should i do if when i scrap for example in kabuki, it shows menu with scrapping from all 3 locations, and when i try any of them it says Dex told them to not trade with me, wtf do i do
Read the description and bug reports, maybe... But it shouldn't be displaying all 3 locations... I didn't test this update on a save without owning Plan B, sorry... I'll try to figure out why it'd do that in the morning and push another update to fix it... Once you can actually use it, though, it should only show the one location's prompt...
If you still have the issue after getting Plan B (or if you already own it), try fully uninstalling the mod (and make sure to delete the files, too, if you installed through Vortex) and reinstalling...
Umm, the only one I know of that actually unlocks it is A New Dawn Beyond Night City by u/DBK (and u/Sammmy1036)... It' apparently a WIP and is somewhat limited, though, but seems like it'd do the trick (I haven't tested it, personally, though, I just used FreeFly to noclip over there for testing... A few vehicles spawn right at the border crossing on the Yucca side, so I was able to test with those)...
Love it... I think something like that could be possible, but I definitely wouldn't want to do it like this... You'd need to get an assignment to bring a certain type of NPC or something like that (fat bald white guy, any corpo, etc) , and it'd pay big money... Would take a lot more work than this mod did, but it's not outside the realm of something I'd attempt to make at the moment...lol
Actually taking the NPC somewhere is the tricky, part, but shouldn't be impossible...
LOL it actually makes sense, like take dead bodys to the scavs so they can harvest the cyberware inside like in the first mission, or throwing them in the trunk of a car like in some gigs XD
yeah it's similar to the mission in this game where you can take the guy in the trunk to his doom or let him walk, but you could be stealthy like ninja about it, people just disappear maybe working for mr blue eyes and the tekno necromancers or just open contracts for the various gangs. Prob a little too ambitious though, this isn't a bethesda game lol
Can't imagine why it wouldn't be compatible... Yeah, they both do the same types of things (though for sure in very different ways), but both fully add new stuff (using existing game stuff, but that's irrelevant), they don't override/overwrite any game stuff, so there's nothing to conflict...
I didn't even know that existed, though, so haven't tested, but I'm pretty much 100% certain there would be no conflicts...

Please let me know if not (or if so...lol)
Thanks for the confirmation. If you happen to notice what triggers the FPS drops, let me know and I'll try to do some more optimizations.
