I spent 6 weeks of constant communications via emails with Tech Support regarding Cyberpunk 2077 CTD on startup (and during play if it would ever start which was rare). I wont go through everything they asked me to do, it take forever and the files I sent em etc. The TLDR was I was using a 13th gen new Pc at the time and they discovered something in their game code that was causing the crash, "I was told", They also said don't hold your breath for a fix. So The workaround. The tech did give me this to try (it did work for me) using "Intel Extreme Tuning utility" software and slowing my Pc by turning down the Performance Active core Tuning by 5 from 54 to 49 and turning off some of the Boost features worked for me. (they said experiment a bit) and this allowed the game to start and now doesn't CTD at all (well mostly I now have around 200 mods added and sometimes it does but think its due to mods not the original issue) and the built in CP 2077 benchmark give me around 70 to 110fps (3070ti) so I can live with that.
Note: At the time of the CTDs I had a clean install (5 or 6 times) tried new clean O/S Win11, even new Motherboard) no mods at all.
Hope this might help anyone struggling with similar issues.
My apologises to the Author I know you said unless it directly relates, but thought this also might help someone.
Just so everyone knows, CTD Helper 0.13 is for Cyberpunk 1.63, and CTD Helper 0.14 (on github) is for Cyberpunk 2.01. Neither will work for 2.12 and there is no alternative.
If anyone wants a python program I wrote that goes through every .log file in a specified directory [works with any game] and compiles it into a easily readable table separated by warning and errors, feel free to message me
This mod doesn't appear to have been updated for version 2.12. Does not create logs when CTD happens. Looking at the red4ext logs I found this message about CTD Helper:
[RED4ext] [warning] CTD Helper (version: 0.1.3) is incompatible with the current patch. The requested runtime of the plugin is 3.0.72.54038
Could this please be updated as it is very useful for troubleshooting CTDs caused by mods? Thanks for all your work on this jackhumbert, its appreciated!
Me as well. My PC fans go crazy on launch then the game "flatlines" I found a workaround where I launch CP2077 then while it's booting up I just click on any other application like chrome or discord so the game minimizes and then for some reason it won't crash and so far all my mods work so I don't know what the problem is
yep, keep getting crashes while driving, no matter if driving fast or slow. Which makes the quests for El Capitan really annoying. ANY idea how to solve this is appreciated!
Anyone know how to fix GPU leak after the patch 2.11 In short, I always got CTD after closing menu, like closing inventory, closing shop, closing map, pause and resuming game. My GPU will raise from 68% to 100% and CTD.
DUDE I've been having this SAME EXACT issue as well!!! have you ever figured out what the problem was? I've literally been spending the last 2 weeks pulling my hair out trying to play this game for the first time ever thinking that it was one of my over 100 mods. I've probably reinstalled the game about 5 times at this point and reading so many posts and trying to find which mods were/is bad. If you can figure out the solution is PLEASE let me know. 😭
Already fixed the issue on my end. I just need to DDU my Graphic Driver in Safe Mode and installed it back manually (Not From GeForce Experience) in normal mode. No more any single crash after that and it run smooth.
That's crazy. For me I ended up figuring out that what caused it for me was the Nvidia In-game overlay.
NOW, although it is still now crashing, it's not doing it literally everytime I exit an in-game menu like it was before. Now, it just crashes at random everytime the game has been running after like an hour or so. So, while it's still not completely fixed for me it is much more bearable than before where it was just unplayable. MAKE SURE TO KEEP YOUR IN-GAME OVERLAYS OFF with this game!

there's no ctd_helper.log file anywhere on my computer.

Good luck mate
