Update NOV 17-2024 Patch 2.13 Hi everyone! Long time, still alive just been hectic past year moved house twice & now have 3 kids, sorry for the long delay. ------------------------
Vehicle handling/acceleration values seem to have been adjusted from game updates so I've taken down the standalone versions for now & updated the input loader version with faster W & S Accel/Decel, along with restoring the default steering values. Seems to be working OK as far as L_Shift for gearing up & L_Ctrl for gearing down go. Which has been the base functionality of this mod.
Mouse4 cruise has also been changed to allow cruise + normal turning, but its a bit twitchy with the game update changes to vehicle handling(bad).
Still testing bike/wheelie functionality.
Added 2.13 Vanilla Input.xml under Miscellaneous files for those having trouble removing standalone version.
------------------------ Update DEC 13-2023 Patch 2.1 - Added experimental 'REV2(Revision 2) /w acceleration tied to lean back/forward(LShift/Ctrl) & Steering with wheelie(Lean left/right) on A & D. The downside is it affects all vehicles, great if you mainly ride bikes though.
- I tested with Lean on completely separate keys(No acceleration) but then you have to use four fingers to accelerate lean & steer at the same time overcomplicating something that should be simple. I personally prefer the first attempt with bike stunt controls shifted over to arrows so I can drive 'normally' by switching between WASD(Original Driving) & Arrows(Stunts), but open to feedback.
- Not all bikes stunt well, doing wheelies the Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X easily goes off balance on every gear shift, try Nazare.
- If you have any issues getting the manual versions to work, in-game go to settings>key bindings & hit the defaults button.
Update DEC 12-2023 Patch 2.1 - - Standalone Version Updated for 2.1 - Bike 'Lean' Functions remapped to Up/Down arrows /w added acceleration, still under testing but I find this far more convenient than holding multiple buttons. This let me implement - Steering WHILE doing a wheelie.
- For Bikes, Boost & Gear down duplicated to RShift + RCtrl to use in conjunction with arrows. For bike riding I HIGHLY recommend shifting your left hand over to arrows for stunts so you can keep using the mouse. Otherwise normal controls will work fine if you arent doing wheelies or flips. When going for longer wheelies the current game implementation 'upshifting' will throw you off balance, so ideally you want to be at a higher but steady speed using Right Shift before you switch to down arrow(Lean back) + cruise key, preferably on a straight, flat road. Feedback is much appreciated.
Here's some of the testing, the wheelies start by holding down arrow only, leaving fingers free to steer if you're on a flat road, skip to 6:10+, the long wheelies are only holding down arrow + cruise modifiers(Mouse4/5) /w left/right taps to steer.
- Input Loader seems to have issues & has not been updated for the new control system, it won't cause script errors but since it's inputUserMappings.xml file is outdated, rebinding lean angle /w acceleration & steering is fiddly to get working without updating this file. I've uploaded a v2.1 userInputMappings.xml that you can drag/drop to red4ext/plugins/input_loader folder or extract within the main directory if you are still trying to modify the input loader version before I get a new working one up. ----------------------- ----------------------- Update DEC 11-2023 Patch 2.1 - After more testing & there seems to be issues with the new bike 'lean' feature that was added, otherwise the input loader version is still working ok, just rebind the lean backward & forward in game settings>key bindings to either Right Shift & Ctrl or Up & Down arrows, & be sure to update Red4Ext. There's a better fix in the comments of this post section but I'm still messing around with finding optimal bindings & getting input loader to work properly as leaning while doing a wheelie isnt working smooth.(Is this a vanilla issue?).
Input Loaders inputUsermappings.xml file also has to be manually updated due to keybind changes with 2.1 patch or testing different binds will cause conflicts with lean & turning axis not functioning correctly.
The standalone version is OK but you have to remap the lean buttons to IK_RShift & IK_RControl or IK_Up & IK_Down.(Arrows).
Update Oct 2-2023 - Input Loader Issue 2.0.4-1 revert to 2.0.4 Thought there was a bind conflict with 'use tactical' for vehicle combat & tried rebinding invert cam to Numpad Minus, but turns out you can't throw grenades or use tacticals from a vehicle -_-. So middle mouse is more useful as invert camera when driving.
Update Oct 1-2023 - Input Loader Issue 2.0.4 - Fixed a bind conflict with invert camera & LShift(appears when resetting keybinds to default), its easy to fix user end by simply rebinding invert camera button, but implemented this fix properly & rebound to middle mouse button for 2.0.4, if your invert camera is already rebound then this update can be skipped.
Update Oct 1-2023 - Input Loader Issue 2.0.3-1 - Cruise fix for missing lines after removing controller support remnants. - Added additional usage instructions to clarify the cruise function.
Update Oct 1-2023 - Input Loader Issue 2.0.3 - Fully removed controller support to avoid conflicts.(Controllers should work fine now).
The current version of input loader contains an outdated inputUserMappings.xml file, this can cause input mods to fail to load/merge properly, since Vortex does not allow me to include secondary mod folders with my mod, I've uploaded it separately under Files>Updates section. To install, save to main CP2077 directory, right-click 'extract here', Yes to all. Follow troubleshooting if you still have issues.
Troubleshooting For those still having issues with input loader, with the game closed, navigate to your CP2077 directory, r6/cache folder & delete inputContexts.xml & inputUserMappings.xml, input loader will recreate them, test the game again. -------------------------- Cyberpunk 2077 v2.1 CONTROLS: Immersive Driving W = Slow Accelerate L_Shift / R_Shift = Fast Accelerate (Hold for Rapid Gear Up) L_Ctrl/R_Ctrl = Decelerate (Hold for Slow Gear Down) S = Slow Down Faster
Mouse 4/5 = Cruise works as a very low acceleration value so can be affected by terrain, picking up speed downhill or losing speed uphill, it also halves turning radius for smoother lane changes, you can hold cruise while periodically combining LShift/LCtrl or W to adjust speed.
Bikes (Move left hand over to arrow keys if you still want mouse/camera control): Up Arrow = Lean Forward/Decelerate Down Arrow = Lean Backward/Accelerate(Wheelies!) Left/Right Arrow = Lean while doing a wheelie.
Usage: - Use COMBINATIONS of buttons together seems to work best, e.g. W take off, add Shift to pickup speed, let go of shift and hold Ctrl with W to slow down, or ctrl alone to slow down faster, or ctrl+S for rapid geardown. etc. There's lots of combinations to try as you get used to the extra keys. Hold mouse4 or 5 for smoother turning angle on highway slip-lanes & on-ramps or to stabilize speed when doing long wheelies.
- The cruise functions aren't perfect as the game will not allow a fixed speed value, only very low acceleration values so depending on the vehicle and terrain, you will slowly lose or gain speed depending on which cruise button you are holding, so best used in conjunction with tapping W or LCtrl to stabilize speed.
- The new bike lean feature will get thrown off balance when shifting up/down while doing a wheelie, so I recommend picking up speed then holding mouse4 or 5 with down arrow to stabilize if you want to keep it straight for as long as possible, experiment.
Immersive Walking W = Brisk Walk Hold Shift to Sprint(Default) Hold Mouse 4 or 5(Thumb buttons) to walk slower. Hold Mouse 4 + 5 Together, super slow walk. Works in crouch mode and together with the new 'walk toggle' button(G).
*Note: This mod is PRIMARILY for Keyboard & Mouse users, as controller support is limited due to lack of available buttons to remap, especially after Phantom Liberty launch /w vehicle combat, sorry :(.
UNINSTALL For standalone versions, delete r6/config/inputUserMappings.xml & restore your backup, or verify game files. For Input Loader versions, delete r6/input/ImmersiveDriving.xml or ImmersiveWalking.xml files.
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- Update Oct 1-2023 - Input Loader Issue No issues on my end testing the input loader version of the mod, but it appears there are some input-merging issues caused by an outdated .xml file included with input_loader.
Since I can't re-upload someone elses mod, here's some steps to fix the issue manually;
With the game closed go to your main Cyberpunk 2077 directory(right-click and pin it to quick access).
Go to r6/config, right-click and copy inputUserMappings.xml
Go back & navigate to Cyberpunk 2077/red4ext/plugins/input_loader, right-click a blank area and paste the inputUserMappings.xml, click yes to overwrite. This replaces the dated file input loader comes with.
Navigate to Cyberpunk 2077/r6/cache, delete inputContexts.xml & inputUserMappings.xml, so input loader will recreate the merged inputs.
Test the game.
---------------------- Update Sept 30 2023 - v2.0.1 - Fixed a discrepancy between WASD & Arrow key values, both should function the same now, use Left Shift/Ctrl & Mouse4/5(Thumb) to adjust your driving speed. - Fixed an issue with 'vanilla' turning values on LCtrl & LShift affecting turn radius. - Big thanks to Lagoony111 for pointing out the issue & Carno00 for finding the source within inputUserMappings.xml. - Added 'AZERTY' test version under optional files.
Sept 29 2023 Restored input loader versions as Red4Ext has been updated, use those if you prefer to add input this way(does not replace any game files), this is better if you run multiple keybinds from other mods. You can install Immersive Driving, Immersive Walking or both input loader versions together. All versions are fully compatible with 2.0 & Phantom Liberty.
------------------------- ------------------------- Update v2.0 - Sept 27 2023 Hey everyone! So I'm about to play Phantom Liberty & none of the requirements are updated - Solution? Manually edit the inputUserMappings.xml file, & you know I couldnt leave fans of this mod hanging so I've updated the files section with the replacement files.
The downside is this method replaces any custom keybinds you may have made, so recommend backing up r6/config/inputUserMappings.xml first incase you want to reverse the changes quickly(or just delete the file & verify game files).
----------------------- ----------------------- *Update 7/2/23 v1.63 hotfix,* mod still runs perfectly fine without any need for changes, just be sure to update Input Loader. At the fundamental level, this mod shouldnt need any updates to work after a patch, provided Input Loader still works.
I'm still alive, just gone dark due to moving house twice in the past 6 months, still setting up a house high in the mountains of Bohol PH, which should be a permanent residence but the internet is slow until we can afford starlink, really appreciate all the support & kind words!
UPDATE 1.3 Immersive Driving 1.3 Updated controller bindings due to conflicts; - Right Trigger = Fast Acceleration - Y/Triangle = Slow Acceleration <-- The way this should work is you hold Y for normal driving, then add/release right trigger together for picking up speed
- Left Trigger = Fast Deceleration - DPad Up = Slow Deceleration(Geardown) Hold this when you want to slowdown & hear the downshifting, can be used together with Left Trigger for faster geardown.- It takes practice to get used to the new controls so give it some time too.
Immersive Walking 1.1(Optional File) This mod behaves similar to driving, but for walking, Shift is sprint. - Change Hold to Walk to Mouse5 to avoid rebind of Hold to Crouch.(Don't forget to rebind your key in the menu if you prefer this, otherwise stick to 1.0 as this is the only major change).
UPDATE 1.2 Mouse5 can now be held as a modifier to cut turn sensitivity in half for smoother high speed lane changes & wider turns such as on/off ramps. As cruise buttons, Mouse5 has a very low acceleration value for speeds under 50, while Mouse4 is better for speed around 70(You still have to use LShift/Accelerate to reach cruising speed first).
Updated controller bindings; - Remap Radio to DPad_Down <---Needs Testing, if Right Shoulder still opens radio try rebinding if the game lets you. - Right Trigger = Fast Acceleration - Right Shoulder = Slow Acceleration - Left Trigger = Fast Deceleration - Left Shoulder = Slow Deceleration(Geardown) can be used together with Left Trigger for faster geardown, just make sure to hold Left Shoulder First before pressing left trigger together with it. - It takes practice to get used to the new controls so give it some time too. ------------ UPDATE 1.1 - Merged KB+Controller Support. - Added much slower 'Cruise' modifiers to Mouse Thumb Buttons; Mouse4 for Speeds Under 50 & Mouse5 for Speeds ~70 the stable speed will be slightly different depending on the Vehicle. ------------
I have been reading all over the Modpage and stuff but I cant figure out if its possible to disable teh Walking part. I only read somewhere that Walking is Optional but I dont see a Version without it.
is there an auto-downshift option? besides the steering being too erratic in the base game; the car gets stuck in neutral while braking instead of downshifting; and then it stops slowing down; and i don't want to manually shift gears.
It lets S be a normal braking, not go neutral and halt like in the normal game(and this mod normally) set to 0.3 so it's not too strong and doesn't kill the engine. I made Spacebar my defy gravity neutral braking, and my e-brake to another key set ingame. I never used e-brake anyway in this game because the driving is ridiculous.
these settings let W be that gradual accelerate, S gradual brake (without shifting nuetral) and for me space became the default game brake for emergencies, instead of original e-brake.
Having Shift be the super accelerate kinda reflects Shift be the same button for sprinting while walking around. Now when u drive you can actually brake without shifting neutral
Hi! Wondering if there is a way to increase turn-speed when using the mouse 5 button in the XML? Not faster than normal, but more than the mod makes it? Thank you!
Thank you for the fix annoying brake engine sound's i am so glad. My key combation Not in Shift i replaced to "W" and Changed the Break Values if anyone have a issue for controls.
is the Immersive Walking still baked in on this or is my game just acting out bc i have tried to use both MB4 and MB5 but nothing seems to change in my walking speed "the cruising does work on vehicles so the mod is reading those keys". all tho i mainly got this mod again for the driving since last time i played Cyberpunk was on patch 1.60 and after hopping on a car made me instantly come over here to look vehicle handling mods xD
only other mods im running is Unlock FoV V2, Immersive First Person, Blur be gone, Dirt be gone and Better Vehicle First Person and all the other junk those requires to run. but those i installed after trying this mod and i doubt those conflict with this since i tried the walking binds but seems they do nothing
Hey, got a question if anyone would be able to help with.. so my cruise controls on mouse instead of crusing forward it is set brake/reverse for some reason where would i be able to change it? would appriciate some help with it cause it gets kinda annoying by now...
Edit: Nevermind just turns out since i got 4 additional buttons on mouse ive got 2 cruise forward and 2 reverse (normal and with angle)
my ctrl key seems to be doing the cruise forward and my mouse buttons dont seem to work, i dont have a soft braking key. Shift, W, and S work fine it seems. how can i fix pls and thank you
