If you’re using Vortex, you can download as many as you want — just make sure to activate only the one you want right before launching the game. With a manual install, no, obviously you can’t have multiple language packs installed at once. Only the one with the highest load order priority will be active.
It would have to be done with AI, Russian localization does not exist for PL, I have heard that this was due to the Russo-Ukraine war controversy and the voice actor not working for PL
First of all, thank you for what you do. You're the GOAT. Secondly, I know you said you don't think it's important, but have you given any more thought to adding in the localized onomatopoeia as optional files? (maybe at least for Korean since that's what I'm using haha) In my opinion they just give the complete experience and it's immersion breaking for me when I hear the English voice grunts when doing things.
I’ll admit, it would definitely make the mod feel more complete. But It’s not on the table for now. It’s not a definitive no — so maybe later down the line. It’s a much bigger task than it looks, especially since it would have to be done for 11 different voice sets. Right now, I just don’t have the time or energy to take that on.
Hi, I love your mod, I was just curious.. Occasionally I am checking in, trying to see how far the WIP moved so far.. It was on 25% last time I checked but it got removed now:))
But are we getting closer? Is there any prediction how long it could take?
I love your stuff and I am really looking forward to replaying the new update once the enhanced versions come out!
I just wanted to say, take your time with it, I appreciate a lot what you're doing, I was just wondering if there is any prediction on when it might be~
I removed the progression because I had to start over from the beginning. That said, I won't wait until I've done all 11CVL mod to put them online; I'll do it in several parts. CVL English, CVL Japanese, and CVL French should be online next week. And the rest will follow gradually. Let me know which one you want, and I'll try to do it in the second part.
I would really love for CVL Korean to be released in the near future, as I used to play with that before the update, but anyway, you're doing an amazing work! Thank you for doing so much for us :))
Thank you so much! I played with it, I did occasionally notice that the dialogue cut off half a second too early or was a second too long, but it does happen really rarely.
However I'd like to ask.. Previously, only Japanese one had it for some reason, but there was an option to see the untranslated dialogue before it transitions to the translated one (in the specific language you speak, because normally, it only shows the translated part for your language). I'd like to ask if a similar pack could be added more so like an optional file? I totally get why that option isn't there but I liked it when I did playthrough with Japanese V like half a year ago, and it would be pretty nice here too:))
I'm actually really surprised to hear there are any cutoffs — the files are normally edited to make sure the dialogue length is correct. If you could give me a specific example — like which exact line is affected and which audio localization you're playing with — I’ll definitely look into it!
About the Kiroshi translation effect — yeah, in the past there was a special version of "CVL - Japanese" that used the Kiroshi translation effect instead of just the basic Kiroshi tag. That’s true, it was made as a special request from a user. But I won’t be doing that again, sorry!
Mainly because I personally think it makes more sense (and looks cleaner) to just have the regular Kiroshi tag (and kept the Kiroshi translation effect only for NPCs). Also, it takes a lot of extra work to create and maintain a separate version like that — especially with all the compatibility patches that would be needed — and I'm trying to avoid making too many versions so updates don’t take forever. And most importantly, if you really want it, you can actually create your own version of "Change V's native language" now thanks to the new edition of Cosmopolitan Night City:DIY-CNC! It’s not a mod by itself but a tool that lets you customize Cosmopolitan Night city - Change V's native language - Polyglot V, however you like. There's even a plugin included that can add the Kiroshi translation effect to V’s dialogues. Feel free to check out the mod page if you're interested — it’s all explained there!
Hello, first of all, thank you so much for guiding me to the DIY-CNC! I will definitely use it, and I am grateful for having the option to customize it! You're doing amazing work!
Regarding the timing of the lines..
Again as I said, it's not game breaking or anything. Usually it doesn't cut off a dialogue but definitely stops sooner than it should. In the corpo intro, there is one line that Jackie says.. I think after the Arasaka guys leave, that ends like half a second too early. It doesn't cut off anything he says, but at that point, the conversation has sort of an echoing effect to it, which gets obviously cut off.
However, in the instance of Korean V, there seems to be an issue with dialogues overlapping. The two instances I remember are during the initial scav mission that plays directly after the intro, where, in the bathroom where the girl you're saving is - Jackie or T-Bug, unsure which one now, start their dialogue while V is mid-sentence, which shouldn't happen.
The second instance is during the drive with Dex, after visiting the ripperdoc. There often seems to be an unnatural pause between V finishing their sentence, and Dex starting his. This also happens in more cases, notably when speaking with some fixers on the phone, like Muamar Reyes.
I wouldn't pay much attention to it, but weirdly enough, this didn't happen with the previous enhanced versions. I just wonder if by any chance, some lines might have kept their 'English' dialogue length, instead of replacing it with the 'Korean' one, and now it results in some dialogue overlapping, or playing too late.
Either way, everything else seems to be fine! This is just a minor thing so I don't think too much of it, I just wanted to bring attention to it
That's odd — it really shouldn't be happening, so I'll take a look. If possible, try to include the exact or approximate lines next time you report something — it makes it way easier for me to track down the issue quickly. Thanks again for the feedback!
Thank you for looking into it. I will do my best to report specific lines.. I thought about making report directly but now that you know about it, I suppose it's useless now. But should I come across more jarring overlaps, I will make sure to make a report with the specific lines clearly stated :)!
Does this mod allow me to use ai voice packs? For example, in the Chinese environment, I use this to replace v's voice to Japanese, and at the same time use other ai voice packages to change v's voice
You can use "Change V's native language - Japanese" with your game having the Chinese audio localization, it will work. But if you add an AI voice mod, no, it won't give your V a new voice while speaking Japanese — it doesn't work like that...
By the way, 99% of AI voice mods only work with the English audio localization, unless you use this mod I recently created: Universal AI V Voice Swap Compatibility. Make sure to read the description carefully for more details.
I installed French V with CNC and the compatibility patch, but subtitles do not show during english dialogues (same for french ones but it is fine of course).
Thank you so much for this wonderful mod, it's still one of the best ideas i've seen, and I hope 2.22 is the last version so every mod would be comfortably worked on one final version.
From what you're telling me, it sounds like you're using English audio with French subtitles. So what you're describing is normal: if you have the subtitles in French, you don't need the Kiroshi tag on V's French dialogues since you understand French. And you don't get subtitles on the English dialogues because the Kiroshi tag isn't added to all dialogues in the game. You just need to enable "cinematic subtitles" in the game's options to have subtitles always active! The Kiroshi tag is mainly meant for people who understand the audio of their game and don't want subtitles always turned on — it lets them have subtitles only when necessary.
No, that's not how it works. Each "voice mod" has its own pre-recorded lines; you can't magically create new dialogues by merging them. It wouldn't just need a patch—it would require an entirely new mod!
iam not asking for new lines, the voice is alredy english, i just want v to use those lines while still having the game in german, but i also quite like your "Cosmopolitan Night city", which lets me do that my v is in english with the new voice and i have the german sub so a good compromise
Sorry, but I think I don't understand perfectly what you're talking about...
My first response addressed your request for a V speaking English for other localizations: yes, it's possible, and it's now available online as 'CVL - English'!
My second response addressed your question about compatibility with CVL-English and a mod that changes V's voice (But maybe I misunderstood the question): no, if you use a mod that changes V's voice and CVL - English, V will not speak English in another localization with the new voice from the voice-changing mod... it doesn't work that way. Depending on the load order, V will speak with the files from the prioritized mod...
If by 'voice changing mod' you mean any mod that modifies the voiceover, like "Cosmopolitan Night City", then yes, I can tell you that a compatibility patch is needed often. For exemple, between "CVL" OR "Polyglot V" AND "Cosmopolitan Night City", the patches are available on the "Cosmopolitan Night City" page. For other audio mods related to voiceover, it's up to each modder to specify the compatibilities. But there are hardly any mods of this kind.
thanks for the response i think you answered my question, but for clarrification on what i want: game should be set to german and fem-v should talk in english, but witch a custom voice, there is a mod on nexus that gives her the one from jinx from arcane. i did make it work when i am using your cosmopolitain mod and set my game to english. i did not get into making mods for cyberpunk yet cause most thinks i want i alredy could get from nexus and i know my way around modding skyrim so i thought it would be simmilar
