;_; Waaah! This mod that you spent untold hours researching, coding, testing, and fixing isn't EXACTLY the way I WANT IT! I demand you make all the changes I want! Even though I don't have to download, install, and use this mod, or just use my own personal restraint to use it less. Waaah! ;_;
Jokes aside, great mod! I thought it was weird that a super, mega, uber, elite haxor netrunner V couldn't get a candy bar out of a vending machine, despite it being quite easy in real life, with a wire, or a hard shove. I once found the keys the delivery guy used to refill the machines in a hospital, still in the vending machine lock. No four dollar bags of chips for me that day! It's not rocket surgery. Back in school, some kids would sometimes just tell a teacher that the machine ate their quarters, and get a free Hawaiian Punch out of it. The teachers never caught on. We were disgusting kids; drinking chocolate milk, and Hawaiian Punch back-to-back. Ugh... LOL But I digress. Thanks again for the sweet mod. Oh, one question though! Does this also work on the Budget Arms Slaught-O-Matic vending machines? I'll find out shortly anyway. Keep up the great work.
To be clear to every wet blanket out there, the first paragraph was sarcasm. I know it's an alien concept to you, but that is what it is. I am also not saying at all that making suggestions in the comments section is bad/whiny. It is not, generally. I was specifically making fun of the comments that every mod author gets in their comment section, of some rando moaning about how the mod author made their mod wrong, too OP, et cetera, according to the moaner. Preemptively chill.
don't ask and just check on your PC first, since it's OK on 2.0+PL and its function is not complicate, it should be OK with 2.1 [if redscript's compilation OK then it should work correctly since I haven't seen any mod work on changing vending machines]
Any chance you could made a version that decreases amount of vending items dropped? or even increases the likelihood of it all being junk? Just to make it much more rare when it happens?
Thanks a lot. Always hated the fact that a hacked vending machine spewed out junk instead of it's stock. Seemed like a cheep solution for the devs to prevent people from abusing this, but frankly, it made no sense. If you're hacking a vending machine you expect to be able to get the goods, they're cheep anyway so it's not like you make usable amounts of money from this without wasting your time. Thanks again.
Now, if only there was one for breaking into cars too. The street kid lifepath introduces tech that can hack into a car, but for the rest of the planet and the game the only way is through the Mechanical side of things with Technical Ability and Body for taking people out of their cars. Any chance of introducing break-in tech hacking for empty cars? I don't know if this is even possible but it's definitely something missing from the game.
This feels kinda cheaty without requiring the jack-in minigame, since you don't have to "invest" any effort, but can just get free food with a mouseclick. No, the random chance doesn't fix that for me, because the problem to me isn't quantity or value (food is worth almost nothing anyways). Instead it's an immersion thing: If all i have to do is click a button, there's basically no barrier to stealing. Kinda makes me wonder why those vending machines have any food left, when anyone with a deck can just walk by and press a "free food" button in their HUD.
TLDR: Version with hacking minigame please. Doesn't need to be difficult (i'm thinking buffersize 3).
Perhaps it would be even more fun to have an adjustable percentage chance of vending machines giving you its inventory when hacked, instead of always give you its inventory :P
Awesome mod and something I have been waiting for as well! To play off ZZZ's idea... would be cool to see a quantity chance actually. For example, some hacked machine might give you 2 items one time, then another it gives you 6, or 3, or 8 etc... Just to keep it random.

Thank you for this!
