Any chance you could create a mod that separates the stash in your apartment from the car stash? It was like this when the game first came out and was more immersive
That's a good question. It's definitely possible, but I don't think it's something I feel like doing. It'd take far too much effort\work, to something I'd personally never use\want.
I had an idea to expand on this when using equipment EX, we can move between, wardrobe store, inventory+stash and inventory.
I think it would be neat to have an immersive system to access these, for example:
Stash access (car, house armory): Can only access Inventory+ stash
Home wardrobe: Wardrobe store
anywhere else: Inventory only
Also, It doesn't have to lock you out, but merely put you at the correct instance based on where you are, so if you really needing something you can still move to another inventory.
Yeah, mod managers aren't supported since i don't use them. I do however package the files properly, so they 'should' work. But the official stance on mod managers, like vortex is: "YMMV" and "No support".
Indeed! Something as simple as 'sit down at chair\bench' adds a lot, even if you only do it twice. These small things (NPC scheduelling, movable objects, sitting\lying down yourself, eating food) is what's made Ultima 7 such a cult classic, even worse, U7 is still the leader in most of it's designs (BG3 does a great job at much of it, but doens't really have NPC scheduelling).
Wish more games dared to focus on immersion. Immersive-sims is such a forgotten, but magical genre :(.
This should be normal behavior from the start... So weird having access to the stash without opening the trunk lmao
Can I ask for a mod with your wizardry skills?
Could you make a hardcore mod for the game? Like if you die, your save profile would be deleted for good, that would change a lot of things on the game, like prioritizing implants and skill tree on early game focused more in defense, not making you so OP on early game, also, that kind of mod would be for people that like to play with several 'difficult/survivability' mods, making people sweat when they are almost dying when they have a save game with 50hrs lmao
100% Agree, it was probably the original plan\design, but just didn't happen, same with the manual-reload system etc.
<Could you make a hardcore mod for the game?> I make no promises, but the concept of a 'bronzeman (singular auto-save, with quicksaves redirected to autosave)' does interest me a bit, so might look into it (if I do and figure out how to make bronzeman, doing ironman would be no issue).
I guess not everyone value immersion as we do. I didn't know this mod even exist but I've always forced myself to only use stash (and even change clothings) when I open the trunk, just for immersion/realism's sake. Some people just want convenience and efficiency so they would probably complain if this were the vanilla feature lol.
Yeah, think the majority just want to disconnect their brain after work and just repeat things told to them (while looking entertaining). Basically one step removed from movies.
Sadly, seems industry is very adamant to cater to that one specific audience, rather than provide options to let us choose ourselves the amount of brain-disconnecting we want :(. I mean, this mod is extremely simple and would've taken them a whole 3 minutes to put up (including the UI checkbox to activate\decativate it). Hell most my mods are < 15 minutes for them to implement...

I posted a quick bug report regarding trunk damage and a suggested fix that seems to work for me. Thanks again!

Let me know what you think! Cheers!
Edit: seems re-summoning the car fixed it. Tried the same an hour later, suddenly it works as expected :)
