I suggest Alienware AW3423DWF to use HDR400 True Black or Desktop HDR instead of HDR1000 for this reshade (specifically) or in gaming (generally). The reason is, I found that HDR1000 kicked in Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) too early, making the highlights look not as brighter as it should. The results on highlights will look much better with HDR400 TB/Desktop HDR. Different monitors may have a different results.

Do u guys like distortion lens (fish eye)/body-cam style effect? no addition effects like vignette, aberration, dof or blur for this time. Might upload later as optional since I'm not sure if it's suitable for normal gaming scenario.

Hey. U need to turn on HDR as per description. Why did u disable it? Enable hdr, install reshade and copy all files/folder to the game's root folder. Run the game and hit home and select the preset. Lemme know if it works

Is it compatible with this mod? Or is it still necessary to install this mod?

U can try. Probably compatible since it's just a lut but I've never tested.

I installed it with Vortex and loaded TrueColorHDR10.ini on the ReShade homepage, but it shows that no FX was found?

I re - set the path for Reshade to load FX and successfully loaded Deband.fx and Curves.fx. However, unfortunately, I didn't notice any obvious changes in the picture. My monitor is a Hisense 34G6K with a brightness of 400 nits. I've been playing games with HDR turned on. Just tested, and the frame rate dropped by 4 - 6 frames. My graphics card is a 4070.

Reinstall will definitely fix everything. U mean only deband & curves are loaded or they have no changes? Deband might not that important as it's for the sky but curves is important and the main changes for this preset

I used the two together for a while. They are compatible, but the Nova LUT made a negligible difference when the hrd10 preset was active. From what I could tell running both at the same time, the LUT desaturated the image to a degree and affected the red/orange tones, but did not make it more realistic, or "better" in anyway, just different. In short, both Nova LUT and this preset are fantastic on their own, however using Nova LUT in addition to this preset is unfavorable.

This is expected since lut changes the base color to get pure white color same as I did. Maybe u can use lut mods and disable selective color v2 shader in the reshade's settings. Selective color v2 shader is responsible for the color changes.

The 1st number of the version is the major changes (1.0, 2.0, etc). The number after the point is minor changes (1.1, 2.1, etc). Mostly the same stuffs, changing color tone/vibrancy, or lighting (highlight/shadow/contrast). I don't wanna list them in detail since I'm too lazy lol. But all updates are for improvements

    not true hdr...
this setting simply burns blacks, change the white temperature.  the shader is set to PAL -> SRGB conversion, applied to an already HDR output ingame, there is no way to get a true HDR from that.

it seems it also needs an addon to work properly..

    https://github.com/MajorPainTheCactus/AutoHDR-ReShade

AutoHDR32.addon and AutoHDR64.addon to a ReShade add on path location.
the goal of thoses shaders is to convert non hdr to hdr, not "borked" hdr to true hdr.

It's not true HDR. It's true color! Other word for realistic colors! No, you don't need addon. AutoHDR shaders included in the zip. Just installed ReShade and extract/copy the zip files into the rot folder of the game.

if you want true hdr and true "real" colours, i suggest to use the analysis shader from this repository.

I did used lilium shaders on previous reshades but seems not necessary. If u have true hdr monitor (like OLED), just tune the colors and lights. In my reshade, I just tune the colors into something less vivid, more realistic looks. And the lights, better brightness matches the OLED (400nits or even 1000nits), But of course, u can combine my reshade with other preset/mods u like. Enjoy it how u like

Hi, need some support (although maybe some general HDR technical issue). Despite trying to reset my AW3423DWF settings to default, reinstalling nvidia driver and other variations I can't seem to even get HDR to act normally. Whenever I enable HDR (PQ or sRGB) in cyberpunk all the colours go out of whack and look overly saturated. It looks like HDR is being applied twice?

I've attached a screenshot. Thanks in advance for your help as I really would love to replay this game with my new alienware monitor to experience it's true beauty!

That looks quite bad. Looks like the HDR is disable. Does the HDR looks bad on Cyberpunk only? Or other games as well? Does it hapened without enabling ReShade too? If just Cyberpunk, try uninstall Reshade and reinstall. Try disable & re-enable HDR. Try turn off Auto HDR. Try Windws HDR Calibration

Thanks for the lightning reply. I have only come across this issue with Cyberpunk but having said that I'll need to try to find another game that has HDR option (I thought remnant 2 had it but it doesn't). I've tried starting the game when uninstalled and re-installing reshade but get the same issue. Have also tried disabling HDR, enabling it, also with auto HDR. I have also tried with the HDR calibration (again just now but no change)

I thought it might be that HDR is disabled, but when i disable HDR in windows then the HDR option disappears in-game.

Edit: have tried rachet and clank in HDR and looks totally fine. I'm reinstalling CP2077 now so will report back if that fixes it

First i just hope my word are constructive (bad english sorry) I doesnt say your work is bad. I think Reshade have compatibility with HDR but i never found a 10bit capability processecing in every tools i tested. What i see on your screenshot on my Bravia HDR TV (console PC cinema everything is perfectly accurate on it) first: the burned/clipped white-second: banding!! HDR is not only about dynamic  but gradient as you know certainly. On correct HDR setting, the sun sprite must be visible, the neon must display every tone in the glow light around. the green plan of the teleport must be more detailed, dark area too, detail are poor. This is the magic of the fake HDR working on dynamic but without correct gradient (1024 tone per pixel in 10bit, 4096 in 12bit for Dolby vision). In other word its like the sound, the source is the first point wathever the capability of your screen. I dont know your setting but it smell you mixed, maybe, real or fake HDR process (i dont know) and some of other together for final touch and the output is not a true hdr picture, as lot of Reshade preset, just contrast tricks. I suggest working with ENV directly in game engine with modding tool for real HDR result because reshade work like a filter, some over exposed white even in HDR are realy hard to fix, very tricky to calibrate for every situation with post processing tool. ENV have native SDR and HDR capability,

Hi there. Good to see someone did some real test with the reshade. But to be clear, the photos I've uploaded here are not in HDR. My monitor can't capture HDR content (idk why or how), the colors look washed out and bad. So all the photos are just for illustration only.

On the othe hand, yeah, Reshade is basically just a skin on top of the original shaders. I can't overhaul all the details like colors, shadows, contrast, tone, etc. All I can do is what reshade is capable.

Maybe I'll try ENV someday. But i did this just for fun. Have u test the latest one? What should I improve?

Hi, didn't tested, how do you take  capture? The photo mode ingame do a good job as it take in PNG format you should have a correct rendering (look around Nexus i never seen any banding on a capture). This game doesn't produce banding even with color precision set to medium. Maybe your monitor is not properly set. So ypu do somthing working great to you but something wrong outside. Monitor is the first thing to improve before doing any color or HDR tweak. Contrast and color have to be totaly transparent for tweaking. The goal is that youvtweak tranlate well on majority of the screen (there is allways people have something to say no?:)) I dont use reshade on game taking in charge HDR, ray tracing and ENV, for modding. I use it on older game or why not the CRT vintage Cyberpunk!!😄. Dont stop to have fun and for real HDR look around Lighting mode (you know i suppose) and try ENV!,
      cheers

I took thise screenshots using Snipping Tools and edited using Microsoft Photo to fix the colors.

I think my monitor is accurate enough, at least said by Hardware Unbox. It's Alienware AW3423DWF QD-Oled. I'm using it with its stock configuration out of factory, latest firmware.

You should at least test it to see the real results. There's HDR Analysis inside to see all the data of HDR.

You can fix this with an additional/ alternative reshade package and maybe add that to this preset. Look at this vid, he describes in detail what he did. Personally I think its a decent compromise but not perfect. CDPR needs to fix something themselves to get proper gamma available from 0 to max. As of now it starts at like 1 nit and the whole game is designed around this flaw so I very much doubt they will ever fix it. But the guy who uploaded the vid made a decent workaround to get deeper blacks, extented color vibrance a little too. Personally I prefer the minus -9 lumen in the lower range, but it will make dimly lit area's unplayable and then I have to deal with the downsides of working with reshade.

I think if you don't necessarily like the look of this preset and want the vannilla look but with the black levels lowered, just install the files from the link I posted here.

I just watched the vid. I see what u mean now. I will test the black level if it's necessary. Cyberpunk's contrast is bad at the 1st place. The shadows are too dark in bright area which is not realistic, so I lower the contrast to make it less black. Increasing the black level might cause the shadows getting too dark again, but I'll see what I can do. About the color, I intentionally make it less vibrant, so it'll look more realistic

I found that it is unnecessary for the black level to be at 0 unless u want a real black point for some reason like accuracy? That's kinda against the visual mod. HDR doesn't mean it needs to be super black for every dark scene. It's just that when ones the scene meant to be pitch black, hdr monitor should showing pitch black. Unlike my reshade, I'm prefer it to be less black by lowering the contrast. Talking about contrast, it's the only thing you need to use to make the black level at 0 hence no need for PD80 Curved Level
