"Will wait until there is more than just 1 viable build" is such a ridiculous claim, there's at least a dozen or two. Pretty much any high-level combination of skills is viable, with Berserk builds being among the strongest currently. Ya'll need to chill with the "broken OP" build descriptions.
I believe it can, sure. Berserk builds can too, especially the one that gives you literal invulnerability. Quickhacks + smart weapons can too. Sandevistan builds with Gorilla Arms and Mantis Blades can too. Monowire, double SMG swaps, Hammer quakes, throwing knives + katana, all kinds of builds can fight Maxtac. The "for hours" part doesn't mean much because occassionally, you do die instantly if you get hit wrong. Occassionally, the game will bug out your movement or an ability and it will kill you. All I'm saying is, this is another viable build, like many others.
"The "for hours" part doesn't mean much" - this means you can fight them as much as you like, even a whole day and you will not die. There is no such thing as getting hit pretty hard with this build. Every build you mentioned is just more or less pathetic and cannot do what this build can. I would suggest to stop writing nonsence here and going somewhere else to hate.
Yeah all the other builds u named r a joke right now. only thing that might compete is a new throwing knife build since u can hit like 600%+ dmg crits with them but no real healing unless u run a certain knife.
Glad you like it, but this game misses a couple of things to make me love it. For example, it misses a console command to reveal everything that is not yet collected, while Witcher 3 has and once you write it, it is permanent. It misses a NG+, while Witcher 3 got NG+ and even got mod for infinite NG+, aka NG+2, +3, +4 and so on. I want all crafting recepies to be removed and instead bosses to be farmable, so each boss drops specific items. I want expeditions, like in outriders and after you defeat the boss at the end, some unique loot. We should be able to respec attributes as much as we want. The min lvl of attribute points in an aspect should be 1, instead of 3. I mean at lvl 60 i would like to have 4 things at lvl 20, without cheating.
There are probably more, but that is what I can think of atm.
Very hard. The only other build I know besides mine that can survive for hours against maxtac uses blunt weapons, but it is weaker and requires almost perfect gameplay.
Looked at your build and we nearly have the same exact set ups.
I just go with shock launcher and blunt so I can stun and insta kill any Maxtac or high level enemies.
The build you have for sure can survive forever in the testing I did. Since I just play it exactly as I do mine. You just have to either hope the EMP procs for an insta kill or dps them down with fire crit combo you have. It's why I like blunt instead, since you can just smack em up in slow down for the stun and take them out.
Also the shock launcher can lead to a stun allowing you to insta kill them as well. I have had many times where MaxTac drops I shock launcher go into slow mo instakill 2. The shock triggers and kill the other 2. Boom! MaxTac all dead in 10 seconds or so!
Blunt weapon setup is weaker. First I was playing it, then switched to this. Shock launcer is indeed good, but i need to set enemies on fire so I can 100% crit with Errata and also the thermal damage bonuses on the cyberware to benefit my projectile launcher as well. I do not know if it is a glitch with the projectile launcher, but if you fire it first, it will not proc Pyromania, but if you attack with smth else 1st and fire it after, it always counts as explosion and procs pyromania. This applies only when starting a fight. After the fight starts, whenever you fire it, it will always proc pyromania. "You just have to either hope the EMP procs for an insta kill or dps them down with fire crit combo you have" - There is nothing to hope for here and the emp is like some additional aoe and pyromania proc ability, give it or take it. As comes to playstyle, what i do is gather a group of enemies, use blood pump so I can activate adrenaline, leap attack with Errata, shoot the projectile launcher and activate sandy, even though a lot of enemies are not worthy of sandy activation. "MaxTac all dead in 10 seconds or so!" - this works only if you keep them grouped together and not allowing them to spread. What i do is the moment before the last 1 jumps out on the ground, i activate sandy, i fire the launcher and starting to slice them.
P.S - is Phantom liberty worth buying? I am like 70% do not buy it at this time and 30% do it.
Pyromania has a chance to proc with anything that has explosion chance, even if it is not displayed in stats. That is why both the projectile laucher and the EMP are procing it. That is why this thing works so good. I would suggest playing the game, before writing such comments.
I do play the game and setting the enemy on fire does not proc the effect. I am guessing these weapons fire effects have a small explosion built in on activation. I have been playing every day since the start of the launch and the burn quick hack does not proc it either.... I wish just setting enemies on fire would proc it.. would kind of make sense but I can confirm that not all 'fire' effects proc pyromania.
Indeed, some fire effects got explosion chance, but pyromania triggers of any explosion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHFZ6svwQ0U&list=FLRh5UN5aQtn8lFSBFJ9aTmA&index=3&t=930s - here is better explained. Also you can see in the video how both Errata and the thermal launcher are procing pyromania. There is also a pyromania abuse with microgenerator and Sovereign. You proc it on every shot, because Sovereign reloads after each shot and on every shot you have the microgenerator electroshock, which always counts as explosion so it always trigers pyromania.
I watched the vid. His aoe shock is whats triggered it. Errata is still good for this build as since most things are on fire, you are gonna be criting all the time. Still prefer Byakko a bit more for the look and the crazy fast swings when you have Flash of Steel up.
This may be a dumb question, but I only recently redownloaded the game for 2.0: what is there for me to do with this build if you have a 100% save? If I want to use this build to play through missions or the main campaign can I do this?
Doesn't this mod not carry over if you start a fresh playthrough since it only gives a save state? Basically I can only free roam with this save and not do any real missions unless I want to buy the DLC, correct?

Curious as the build I made up can survive against Maxtac forever on Very Hard.
