The World of Daggerfall Project 0.3 The Road of Trials
Adds new locations and large-scale props to the world exterior. Find the landscape filled with enormous mountains, the roads with bandit settlements, and the wilds with ruins, shrines, and other points of interest.
Description
The World of Daggerfall Project is a community effort to fill Daggerfall's vast wilderness with thousands upon thousands of rocks, mountains, bandit camps, forts, towers, ruins, and shrines. These new locations make traveling on highways more interesting and traveling on back roads more perilous. All provinces are included in the initial release. Moreover, World of Daggerfall is a continuing project in the vein of Morrowind's Tamriel Rebuilt. We aim to continually add more content, create new experiences, and to make the Iliac Bay come to life. We also maintain tools that allow any modder to add their own locations to the game.
Perilous roads: World of Daggerfall adds over 250,000 rocks, 20,000 mountains, and 60,000 locations like bandit camps, orc forts, ruins, shrines, and guard towers placed along roads and in the wilderness.
Hand-crafted terrain: World of Daggerfall - Terrain adds a realistic terrain shader and a game map with rivers, valleys, and hills hand-painted by Ninelan.
Diverse environments: World of Daggerfall – Biomes adds new terrain, rock, and mountain textures to subtropical, Dragontail, haunted woodland, and deep desert regions.
Join up! Anyone can contribute to the World of Daggerfall project. To join the team, reach out to @kaboissonneault or @carademono on the Lysandus' Tomb Discord server.
Installation
Place “location loader.dfmod," “world of daggerfall.dfmod," “world of daggerfall - terrain.dfmod," and “world of daggerfall.dfmod - biomes" in the mod folder. Be sure both "Location Loader" and "World of Daggerfall" are enabled in DFU's mod list. The terrain and biomes modules are optional but highly recommended.
FAQ
This is a community project? How do I contribute? What can I contribute?
WoD works with handmade "prefabs", which can be simple props, buildings, large structures, or even entire towns. Then, copies of these "prefabs" are placed or sprinkled all over the world as "instances". If you want to contribute your own prefabs, reach out to @kaboissonneault or @carademono on the Lysandus' Tomb Discord server.
But what does this mod do, simply put?
Gives you stuff to see and explore while walking or riding outdoors.
Terrain mods : WoD-Terrains conflicts with other terrain mods such as Interested Eroded Terrain or Distant Terrain (if using the Improved Terrain option).
For Distant Terrain, go into the mod's settings, and disable Improved Terrain.
