So at the moment it contains this related mods:
WILHELM'D HUD
Description:
Changes the main HUD. Inspired by this mod by aHeadyNord but I wanted to make a more vanilla style friendly design and optimized for Retro-Frame. So I mostly used textures and sprites of the game.
- Health, Stamina and Magicka resembles blood, spiritual energy and stellar dust respectively. (Make sure that "Swap Health & Fatigue" option is enabled in the launcher menu)
- Low stats change the appareance of the bars frames. If you are low of health the frame becomes bloody and you can see the bones. If you are low of stamina the frame becomes dark and if you're low of magicka the frame becomes dry.
- Icons are more detailed and related with the actions that represents. Every icon has letters, but if you don't want it just download "Wilhelm HUD - No Letters" instead.
- The compass have the NSEW cardinal directions and uses the sun drawing from the map menu.
- New hand-animated compass arrow inspired by the Daggerfall logo.

WILHELM'S RETRO-FRAME
Required Mods:
Recommended Mods:
Description:
My overlay for the Retro-Frame mod by DunnyOfPenwick. You need the original Retro-Frame mod for it to work.
- The frame is now 426x200 px instead of 320x180 px. So it has the same height that the 320x200 Retro Mode and is stretched in the same way.
- Text color matches the same of the vanilla.
- No flash effects and no dark panels on pause, for a better integration with the vanilla menus.
- Borders with gargoyles (using the sprites from the Fairy Dragon) inspired by the Ultima Underworld HUD. You can disable these borders in the Retro-Frame mod settings.
- You can integrate HUD Torch Indicator by AverniteDF with the gargoyles using the presets included in this mod.
- Unzip the Mods and Presets folders in DaggerfallUnity_Data\StreamingAssets
- Go to the HUD Torch Indicator settings and load the desired preset.
- You need to go the launcher every time that you want to change the preset, so choice depending of what light source you use the most.
WILHELM'S CROSSHAIR
Description:
Crosshair from the vanilla Daggerfall cursor to match with HD resolution (1080p).
What's the difference with Nero's Classic Crosshairs?
My crosshairs match exactly the same pixel size with 1920x1080 px in retromode. 1920 is 6 times 320, so this crosshair is scaled with the same number (12px X 6 = 72px). If you play with lower resolutions use the Nero's Crosshairs instead.
Installation:
- Unzip the Mods and Textures folder in DaggerfallUnity_Data\StreamingAssets
- Delete Crosshair.png in DaggerfallUnity_Data\StreamingAssets\Textures if you're updating from 1.0
WILHELM'S CRT RESHADE
Required Mods:
Description:
Old games (I mean the games before the seventh generation of video game consoles) weren't planned to play with high resolution monitors. That's because I play always with CRT filters. They apply smoothness to the pixels and offer a more real retro experience.
It has three presets:
- PC_Monitor: It simulates a CRT monitor of a computer. I recommend specially this one for text reading. If it doesn't looks like a CRT computer monitor don't hold it against me, it has been more than a decade that I haven't seen one.
- CRT: It simulates a CRT television. Not recommended if you experience low fps since it has a weird static effect when a framerate drop happens.
- LCD: It simulates a handheld LCD screen (Like Nintendo DS or Game Boy Advance).
- Unzip the .ini files in the same folder of "DaggerfallUnity.exe"
- Download ReShade: https://reshade.me/
- Run the installer and browse the "DaggerfallUnity.exe"
- Select DirectX 10/11/12
- Select only the CRT-Royale-ReShade or browse one of the .ini files
- Launch the game and press the key "Home" to open the ReShade menu
- Select the preset that you want at the top of the menu under the tabs
Complementary mods:
- Vanilla Friendly Loading Screens (requires Loading Screen): Loading Screens using original promotional and concept art from Daggerfall.
- Immersive Mob Health (requires Mob Health Bars): Replicate a real experience of know if someone is injured.
Thanks to DunnyOfPenwick for making a sample mod to alter Retro-Frame.
