To everyone who has realized that this is out of date (and for those who haven't), I propose a fix for this mod. I noticed on a whim that you can open the file (*.darkest) with notepad. I use notepad++ but it shouldn't make a difference. The code is pretty straight forward and it is easy to see where the item limits are. That said, just edit the values yourself. I just increased gold to stack up to 99999 and most other things to 99.
This effectively renders this mod useless so my apologies to LittleWolfie but thank you for the inspiration. All of this aside, if the game updates you will likely need to go back and edit the files again but as long as you know how to do it it isn't hard and won't take more than 5-10 min to do.
I haven't tested this thoroughly yet so take this advice with a grain of salt. As long as you back up your original files you can experiment as much as you like since you can just restore the backups. Have fun and once again, kudos to LittleWolfie for the inspiration and the original mod.
I won't be updating the mod since it's meant for the GOG version of the game that likely won't ever be updated again (it's only missing the online-and-multiplayer only DLC), but if anyone is using another version of the game that has updates, your advice is the way to go - having made the mod, I can confirm that's how Darkest Dungeon modding works, if it's just editing text files (I can't say for new class mods or skins, those are likely more complicated).
I'd make an announcement for all my Darkest Dungeon mods, if I knew how. But unfortunately, I don't. If anyone does know, please share.
I take no offense at anyone editing or remaking my mods - be it for personal use or if they're uploaded on the Nexus - if fact, you're most welcome to do so. Dropping a line about where the inspiration came from would be appreciated, but I won't get on your case, if you don't. :)
Given it's based on the GOG version of the game, which itself is outdated, I should have suspected as much. Unfortunately, I can't fix this as I don't own the Steam version of the game, but thank you for the notice.
I tried it in the summer and it worked fine, but that was with a GOG copy of the game and having installed the mod manually.
Here's what I'd suggest: if the crash persists, try reinstalling the game and manually installing only this mod - if the game still crashes, the blame lies with the mod, if not, it's something else. I'd really recommend a fresh install since mods might conflict with each other (e.g. if 2 or more modify the same file, you can't use them together) and the more you use, the more likely that is. Going one by one will help you narrow down the mod responsible for the crash.
The mod works fine on GOG, but I have no clue about how it would get along with a Steam version of the game - the GOG version doesn't have all the DLCs (the Circus is missing) and as a result, it hasn't been updated in a while - since 2019, according to the patch notes), if you're on Steam all I can say is "use any of my mods at your own risk". Sorry, but I can't help with troubleshooting a mod with a version of the game I don't own. If you're using the Steam version and my mods don't work, look for other mods since I have no clue how to adapt my mods to the Steam version of the game, nor any mod installer.
Please, help me. I have do it what you haved talk to do, but the game just dont run. I play him and the game crash some seconds latter At last, Can you please send me the archives of the Inventory folder of crimson court and Shield breaker? I cant have a Backup and i dont know what to do
I have found a backup in another mod with the same propouse. The error is from one of the Inventory.Config in the folder. I dont have any ideia of why, but, in anycase, thanks for the help
OK, what I understood was: - You did what the mod description page said (or at least tried to). - When you launched the game, it crashed seconds later. - You want to be given "archives of the Inventory folder of crimson court and Shield breaker". What does that mean? If you mean the mod's files they are in the .zip archive on the downloads page. If you mean the unmodded files that can be found in the game when it's freshly installed, I've provided what files I can (see "Miscellaneous" in the downloads sections), but it's best to have your own backup folder. - "The error is from one of the Inventory.Config in the folder." You lost me. Are we talking about an error from my mod or the other one?
What version of the game are you using (on what platform when it was last updated) and are you using any other mod besides my own?
Keep in mind different mods using the same files will NOT be compatible. Use one or the other, but not both.
Alright. I've reinstalled the game and tested all my mods for Darkest Dungeon and I've encountered no issues. I can't recreate the issue you describe, though I'm guessing you meant to ask for the unmodded files that would be found in the game's folder when freshly installing the game. Those files have been provided - see "Miscellaneous" in the downloads sections.
HOWEVER, keep in mind that the GOG version of the game has not been updated since 2019 (at least according to the official patch notes I viewed via GOG Galaxy) and does not have the "The Butcher's Circus" DLC and as such may not correspond to the Steam version. I only own the GOG version of the game, so I cannot look into issues that occur with the Steam version of the game, though it's safe to assume Steam's version of the game is the more updated one, given it has more content.
How to create your own backup: BEFORE attempting to install the mod, download the mod, extract the archive and open its folder to view what files you need (their locations are specified in the mod's description page here on the Nexus). What you do is the reverse of installing the mod: copy the files with the same names as the ones in the mod that you find in the game's installation folder (for DLCs the paths are a bit different, see the mod description page for where to find the files) and place them in a new folder, e.g. "Darkest Dungeon - inventory backup files". That folder with the game's default files is your backup, if you have issues with the mod, place the files from the backup back into the corresponding folders of the game to get it back to the state it was in before you installed the mod. AFTER you have the backup done, install the files from the mod's folder you initially downloaded and see if the mod works. It's best to keep the backup folder at another location on your hard drive or a USB stick for safekeeping.
Also: my mods are meant to be installed manually by copying the files to the correct folders in the game's folder, they will not work with a mod manager since the GOG version of the game does not support one. Neither do I know how to pack files for a mod manager program to use.
I hope this helps, but if the issue remains, there's likely an issue with the Steam's version of the game and this mod, so I can't help you, if that's the case.
P.S. If I misunderstood, please specify what you wanted - the clearer a request, the easier it is to try and help you.
It's meant to be manually installed. I only own the GOG version of the game, which doesn't let you use mods other than by manually installing them. And if there is a way to make the mod work with Steam's workshop or a mod loader program (if any exist for Darkest Dungeon), I have no clue how to make it happen. I know nothing of coding, all I did was for all my DD mods was edit numbers in notepad files.
The best advice I can give is to install it manually (and make backups of the affected files, should you wish to revert to the default settings) - the instructions are in the description. I'd prefer to stick to a method I know will work than to go after one I have no idea about and wouldn't know how to make it work.
Is there a way of installing it so i don't get ridiculous sell value and just have items stack. i kind of breaks the game with how much gold i get. i'd like to start a new run separate for the fun and experiments run i usually do and i don't need the resell value upgrade.
There are 2 ways to get items to stack without the increase in the selling price for them.
1: Manually edit the files in the mod. Search for ".sell_gold_value" X in the files and replace X with the amount of gold you want to receive for it. E.g. change ".sell_gold_value 4500" to ".sell_gold_value 450". I've forgotten exactly which files have the selling values in them, but it shouldn't take too long to figure it out.
2: Get another mod that only gets items to stack. E.g. "Larger Inventory Stacks For V21101" by gingersfurby. I personally never used it, but judging by the comments on its page, it should work without problems.
I could make a custom version for you, but my exams will eat up all my time for the next couple of months.
I hope this helps and thanks for checking out my mod.
Hey, great mod. However the selling price of artifacts and items is way too high. I just started a new game, finished 3-4 dungeons and i've got 300k gold... Is there a way to reduce it ? Do i have to start again if i want to change the selling price of items ?
Yes, you can reduce the prices and no, you don't have to start a new game to do it.
If you want to keep all the other features of the mod (4 trinkets, high item stacks), it'd be best to manually edit the files.
Thank you for checking out my mod and I hope this helps. P.S. Cute profile pics.
The new zip file is updated to the current version of the game. However, I haven't played Color of Madness yet, so, for now, it is not included in the zip file.
Edit: My suspicions were correct. Given that the shard yield is based on the number of creatures killed, there isn't anything to edit in the Color of Madness DLC for this mod.
In my game the trinkets have this placement: 1 2 3 4
Jokes aside, I've used this mod since the time I first made it and have never had a problem with it. Even my test runs today haven't uncovered any issues.
Can you specify what exactly doesn't work? The stacking or the selling prices for items? Both? Which items are problematic and which aren't?
I'd also like to ask some questions to see if you didn't accidentally overlook any steps of the installation. I realize it's very tedious, but the more information I have, the easier it will be to pinpoint the issue and fix it.
1: Do you have the Steam or the GOG version of the game? The install process I provided was meant for the GOG version (as far as I know it does not have official mod support, so mods need to be installed manually). I do not have the Steam version of the game, so if the issue lies in the Steam version alone, I can't recreate the issue and advise you how to fix it. :( Seeing that the Steam version has official mod support, I have no idea how it would react to a manually installed mod.
2: What version of the game are you using?
3: Did you create a backup file or folder in any of the folders before or during the installation process? I haven't done it myself, but someone reported creating backups in the game folder can disrupt mods. For more information, see the 4th post here: https://www.nexusmods.com/darkestdungeon/mods/515?tab=posts
4: Did you make sure the zip wasn't corrupted after downloading it? The chance of that happening with such a small file is tiny, but not impossible. I'm not sure about other extract programs, but 7zip has the option of "test archive" when right-clicking a file. It should say "without mistakes" to a usable file. I translated the commands form Slovene, so that may not be exactly what they will say.
5: Did you use any other inventory mods, especially ones that modify the same files as my mod? There may be a mod conflict or an overwritten file.
6: Did you extract the zip into a folder or did you try to copy the files directly from the zip file? Copying directly from the archive may cause errors. It's safer to extract it first.
7: I believe you that you followed all the installation steps, but let's walk through the installation process, just to be sure a file didn't end up somewhere where it shouldn't be. 1. You downloaded the "High Inventory Stack Limits and 3 Trinkets for Heroes 3" 2. It's a zip archive so you extracted it in a folder, e.g. in the "Downloads" folder. 3. You placed the following files "base.currency.inventory.items", "base.gem.inventory.items", "base.inventory.extra_stack_limits", "base.inventory.system_configs", "base.quest_item.inventory.items", "base.supply.inventory.items", "mode.inventory.system_configs", "mode.supply.inventory.items" from the folder, you extracted into Darkest Dungeon game folder > "inventory" folder and let the existing files be overwritten. 4. You placed the "crimson_court.estate.inventory.items", "crimson_court.quest.inventory.items" files from the extracted folder into Darkest Dungeon game folder > "dlc" > crimson_court > "features" > "crimson_court" > "inventory" and let the existing files be overwritten.. There should also be a vanilla file "crimson_court.inventory.system_configs". 5. You placed the "shieldbreaker.estate.inventory.items" file from the extracted folder into Darkest Dungeon game folder > "dlc" > shieldbreaker > "inventory" and let the existing file be overwritten. Please note, that the folder names outside of quotation marks do not match their names exactly. E.g. in my case, the full installation path for the Shildbraker is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Darkest Dungeon\dlc\702540_shieldbreaker\inventory".
8: Are you using Windows or another OS? I've never used anything, but Windows (currently Windows 8.1), so I can't say how it will go on another OS.
If all else fails, try redownloading the files and install them anew.
P.S. Sorry, if this is a meticulous mess, but it's late and I've tried to structure it to prevent myself from becoming confused.

Sorry for the late reply.
I've been busy with exams so I haven't checked the Nexus or Darkest Dungeon for some time.
I've updated the mod so the quest items for the base game and the two DLCs will stack.
Firewood is listed in the description and it should stack as well.
If it doesn't, let me know and I'll look into it, but I'm not sure if I can fix it.
Thank you for checking out my mod and the comment that helped to improve it.
