About this mod
(SotFS only) Removes the param files from the enc_regulation.bnd.dcx archive and places them in a folder as individual files instead. This allows you to use multiple mods that modify the param files without having to manually merge them.

Modifying the game's param files is one of the most common ways of modding From Software games. In Dark Souls 2 all of the param files are in the enc_regulation.bnd.dcx archive. The problem with all of the param files being in one archive file is that if multiple mods want to modify the param files they will conflict with each other, not allowing you to have both of them installed, even if they are modifying different param files.
This mod simply removes the param files from the enc_regulation.bnd.dcx archive and instead they are loaded as individual files. Now, if a mod wants to modify a particular param file, the mod author can distribute a modified version of only the param file they modified. This allows you to install multiple mods which modify different param files without compatibility issues.
This mod does NOT make any changes to the game itself. It is only to improve the modding capabilities of this game for mods that utilize it.
Information for Mod Authors
• The current version of Yabber (v1.3.1) is not able to decompile, nor recompile, the enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file correctly. The current version of Yabber Plus (v1.0.1) is able to decompile it correctly, but is not able to recompile it correctly (it will recompile it, but with errors which cause issues). The current version of Yabber Avocado (Sept. 27, 2022) is not able to decompile it correctly, but it is able to recompile it correctly. There doesn't seem to be any tool that is currently capable of decompiling and recompiling the file correctly, so you will need to use Yabber Plus to decompile it and Yabber Avocado to recompile it. Do not use BinderTool, DS Map Studio, original Yabber, Yapped, or any other tools to decompile/recompile because they will either not work or will cause issues in-game.
• You will not be able to modify the individual param files. In order to make a mod you will still need an original enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file. You will want to use Yapped Honey Bear (Code > Download ZIP -- you'll find a compiled build in: Yapped/obj/x64/Debug/) to modify the enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file as usual. After you've made the changes you want, use Yabber Plus to unpack the modified enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file. Only include the param files that you made changes to.
• If you want to make changes to an existing mod you will need to use Yabber Plus to unpack an original, unmodified enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file, copy the modified individual param file(s) into the unpacked folder, then use Yabber Avocado to repack it. Once you've done that you can use Yapped Honey Bear to modify the param files, then use Yabber Plus to unpack the modified enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file.
NOTE: There are currently no pre-compiled builds for Yabber Avocado available for download. You will need to download the source code and compile it yourself in order to use it. You can search online to figure out how to do that if you don't know how to.
Note: This mod is only compatible with the Scholar of the First Sin edition of the game.
1) Extract the downloaded .zip archive and open the folder of the extracted archive.
2) Move the enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file and Param folder to your game's installation directory (where DarkSoulsII.exe is), overwriting the original files.
You may want to make a backup of the enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file and Param folder first, in case you want to uninstall the mod later.
Warning: Using any mods while online will likely trigger the game's anti-cheat system. I highly recommend preventing the game from connecting to the online servers while playing with any mods installed.
