So i use a switch pro controller to play the dark souls series as i enjoy the digital triggers much better for games like these. However, in dark souls 2 you cant change controller input, so i had to do it through steams controller profile. This is because i am picky with the inputs. However there was a problem. The ui which showed the buttons would (obviously) not change with the input change, and this was an annoying little detail as I would now press buttons wrong. I thought i could easily find the default icons so i could change it, but the only ones i found were keyboard icons and no information on how to change them yourself.
So, I decided to do it myself. You have to use IGP, a program for dumping and overriding files in the dark souls games. The files provided in this mod are the default, unchanged versions of these ui buttons, so you can change the ui buttons to whatever you want, wether that be a different controller, pc inputs, heck, even ridiculous inputs if thats what you want.
The mod includes two files, both containing input icons. I'm not 100% sure, but i'm 99% sure you need to change both to make sure you suddenly don't get conflicting inputs.
To replace the buttons ui or any texture really, you will need IGP.
A good tutorial i found is this one for both dumping and overriding textures in dark souls games:
