I know it hasn't been long since the mod has released, but I am taking an indefinite hiatus off the web. I have mentioned a few months a while back on the Seeker of Fire page, that my current life situation isn't great. It has been nice to come back and finish this mod. With what was going on, I didn't think this mod would've seen the light of day, so it was a miracle that I had this chance to use this to send my farewells to this game and modding in general. I am not happy with my life and I want to find my footing again.
That being said, I have compiled a bunch of bug fixes and adjustments before I leave. Is there potential for me to come back and make more modifiers and fixes for the mod? Potentially yes. Otherwise, this is goodbye for now. Anyway, if you want to support this mod in any way, donation link is Here. Thanks to Fromsoftserve for helping me throughout this project.
As of December 19th 2024, my father unfortunately passed away. Seeker of Fire and Bearer of the Curse mod will no longer receive support and will halt all activity from 2025 and onward. I have decided that it's best to move on from modding and pursue something different instead of lingering onto modding. It's been a great 4 years since I released my first mod on the Nexus, and I've been so thankful for all of your kind words and encouragement over the years. I hope that the next generation of DS2 modders will accomplish things far greater than I have and will make the ultimate masterpiece of a mod.
Side note, version 1.0.2 is the last release of the mod. ADP has its controversial functions restored, however baseline Agility iframes are closer to 99 Agility. There has been a rebalance to how Agility will affect Item Speed consumption and Weapon slot swapping. Although, the difference in starting iframes will not be a major difference, iframes have dropped from 13.75 frames to 12.75 frames to make rolling frames less "trivial". Iframes will resume frame scaling normally after 24-25 ADP.
I followed the guide to the letter but it crashes when I start a new game. Also lightning engine doesn't work. I deleted the filter folder from Bearer of the curse, I made a copy of the SHader folder before inserting the latest version of Lightning Engine. I don't know what to do.
I sent you a message. This link -> LE + BoTC Installation Tutorial goes to my thread on discord explaining it step by step too. It also includes other optional mods, so just ignore those if you don't want them. Remember install LE first, Bearer of the Curse second.
Given you changed the enemy placement, part of me was kinda hoping you removed the roaming Heide Knights in the Tower of Flames and moved them back in their vanilla locations
I really liked the mod. The only thing missing is the buff of some ordinary enemies and Bosses. Personally, I think that the bosses with Great Souls need to have settled down a little more. (I really liked The Lost Sinner.) And the one who definitely needs to be used is the Royal Guard. He is a weak ordinary opponent in comparison with his brethren from other parts of the series.
When I first played Dark Souls II (SotFS), I hated it, and ragequit. It was so different from DSIII, and it had so much rough edges, and stupidly deifficult encounters ... Later, I gathered the courage to get back to it, and managed to finish it. I replayed it a couple of times (in fact, it is the Souls game I replayed the most), and finally learn to like it, to like the potential under the rough edges. Today, I can say I like this game, and respect most of what it tries to do.
Which brings us to this mod. To sum it up : "What if Dark Souls II without the rough edges ?". I just redownloaded the game, downloaded the mod and played through the whole first level. It is so much promising ! I'm like a child discovering a new toy. I believe this mod has the potential to make me not only like DSII, but love it, as much as I love the other Soulsborne games I played.
Therefore, thank you, AoiYozora, your mod is awesome. I hope your life's getting better. Love, from France.
If I understand the descriptions correctly, leveling ADP will boost
consumption speed
weapon swap speed
rolling iframes? (author's descriptions seem to conflict)
It sounds like either the iframes returns have been reduced or eliminated from leveling ADP, meaning there is less reason now than before to level ADP for the iframes alone. Weapon Swap speed is a new feature I think, and consumption speed has always been a big deal, so there still seems to be reasons to level ADP, but I can't figure out by the author's descriptions to what extent.
From the change log, it seems like you start out with 12 iframes in the latest version. The iframes will increase normally after 25+ ADP I think. Asides from mod changes, ADP does boost your alignment resistances.
Sorry to hear that you're done with modding. I wish you the best. I just finished your mod and i'm just truly impressed!. If this was the Darksouls 2 we got on release, people wouldn't hold it in such low regard. Thank you for the awesome content.
