It appears to effect both Soul Spears (They seem a bit smaller), Fall Control (No aura around the feet), Hidden Weapon (The distortion before the weapon goes invisible is missing), Magic Weapon, Great Magic Weapon, and Crystal Magic Weapon (the aura effect is missing, although they still change color), Fire Storm (The pillars are missing), Fire Tempest (The same), Chaos Storm (The same), Lingering Flame (Part of the effect is missing around the planted spheres), Flame Swathe (Part of the initial effect missing), Flame Weapon (The flaming effect around the weapon, although it still changes color), Iron Flesh (The light smoke effect is gone), Immolation (Most of the flame effects are missing), Fire Snake (The pillars are missing), as well as the look of the Pyromancy flame when equipped, and several staff trail effects in some Sorcerery buff spells.
In light of this, I sadly suggest that no one use the smoke texture provided here. Damned FromSoft <_<
I'll update this soon to remove it, and leave it as an optional for people who..for whatever reason don't care that all of these spells have been affected.
Updated, and also uploading a video to show what spells are affected and how.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Probably never would have noticed myself if the last patch hadn't finally convinced me to spec out of faith. I suppose it might be possible to go halfway on the texture, like lessen the amount of obstruction from the smoke while not disabling the spell effects entirely. I dunno, the extent of my texture modding capabilities is adapting DS1 mods for my own use. So I'm not much of an artist is what I'm saying.
For those like me who don't want as much Magical influence (visable) in the game, I am downloading this mod BECAUSE of the issues you mentioned. I really miss Demons Souls. An opponent didn't KNOW you had "poison weapon" until they were... poisoned.
This is great but do you think you could make alternate versions? Like one that still has the smoke effect, because the only thing I really dislike is the naked hollow hanging on my back.
In the readme I have listed which texture is which, so all you need to do to get the original smoke texture is to not include this smoke texture in your override folder =)
It's very similar, I agree. Although the Gower's texture has a more brownish quality to it, and of course, the transparency which allowed me to make it invisible =)

The hollows in Harvest Valley are unaffected.
The hollows in the Undead Crypt are unaffected.
The hollows in Huntsman's Copse are unaffected.
I think we're in the clear =)
I'm still sure that they have the same texture, just copied and pasted.
