stepped on a dragon covenant sign on the ground for a nice 1v1 duel. guy insta killed gwydolin. what a shitty mod. the old yui mod that hasnt been updated in 6 years is better than this one.

also garbage for changing character name from being displayed to your steam name being displayed, so i lost like 10 hours of progress from this crap mod since not doing the steam name display....didn't see that listed in the description... cause its not

Sorry about that man. The good news is you shouldn't have lost that much progress. The game auto-backs up your saves every launch in a folder called "backup" where your save file is stored. So you should be able to recover using those backups.

As for the steam name display, yeah it's not in the description, it's in the linked readme on github. I don't want to make this description extra long and complicated, so every feature is listed there while the main strokes are only listed here.

Killing gwydolin is actually concerning however. I really thought i fixed this. Are you on the newest version, Beta31?

also, the mod seemed to remove a large chunk off my vitality bar. i thought it maybe just made it smaller to take up less screen but still followed damage as a percentage or whatever, but playing now without the mod, and with the vitality back to its normal length, the damage i took was the same. so idk what that was all about.

and yea, i just downloaded this mod thursday night so its the newest one.

The vitality bar change is 100% UI only. if you check your stats screen your hp should be the same. This is because vanilla DSR has a bug where the HP bar cuts off and doesn't show your max hp at a certain point.

That is a shame that it's the newest mod though, crap. Do you happen to have the log for that session the hacker ruined? It should be dsoverhaul_logging.txt in the DSR folder, unless you've launched the game since then in which case it's been overwritten.

I doubt it but just for the sake of checking, do you know if this has any incompatibilities with Fromsoftserve's Re-remastered mod?

I believe that playing with it online against someone who doesn't have it results in desyncs, but besides that i don't think there are any conflicts.

Hello, shinymetalcrow. Can you, please, somehow make it that your mod (having in mind that it turns off the anti-cheat system) would not work with this mod: (Restored Dark Wood Grain Ring at Dark Souls Remastered Nexus - Mods and Community) installed. Cause that would be very bad to games balance and general PVP experience if everyone would start ninjaflippin' around with heavy armours again.

Unfortunately i have no way to prevent this sort of cheating, but the issue is vanilla DSR doesn't prevent that either. Hackers are quite prevalent even with the built in anticheat because it's trivial to bypass it. Best thing to do is block people that hack.

Don't worry, the 2 would technically be incompatible as the restored ring also modifies the anibnd and esd files, so you'd have to know what you're doing to make them compatible.

what happened if i put my overhaul save to my normal sl2 save file?

Nothing really. The primary reason i keep them separate is to prevent the game from possibly banning you if you uninstall the mod. It's quite possible that the save file stores info about if you've done something ban-worthy or not, so if you uninstall the mod and keep the same save the game may then send that up to the server and get you banned. That's why i revert the save file to back before the mod was installed. If you want to take that risk tho, nothing should break.

Hello, shinymetalcrow, I'm new to Dark Souls remastered, and want to have an enjoyable single-player experience, with the multiplayer aspects of the game happening as intended by the developers. Sadly, the first guy that invaded me was a hacker that teleported to some NPCs (solaire, andre, lautrec, oswald, and possibly many more that i havent met yet) and killed them, forcing me to restart the playthrough if I want to have the full experience. I want to know if your mod would protect me from this happening again, without changing the base game. If not, is there any mod that you could recommend for me?
    Thanks a lot!

Yes! This mod should protect you from that, and it includes a save autobackup feature for extra protection as well.

Is the FRPG_SfxBnd_CommonEffects.ffxbnd.dcx that comes with this mod important? It's dated 2019; is it just the vanilla one? Could I replace it with a different one, like from this mod, and be okay?

Oh yeah, you can replace it. I literally think it's unused atm, i have plans for it but haven't gotten to it yet.

Hello, does this mod prevent usage of message items? I'm not sure what's going on but it seems I can't leave messages or rank other players' messages. My character plays the animation of placing the message but nothing happens and my message history remains empty. Thanks!

Hi! I responded on discord as well, but for anyone else wondering this will be fixed next release. for now, disabiling the DisableLowFpsDisconnect option in the ini should fix it

prob a stupid question but can I invade people witout this mod or does it only invade people with this mod?

You can invade people without the mod! This mod tries to be as transparent as possible, so it disables a lot of it's features when a non-mod user is connect to you, either when you invade them or vica-versa.

I'm not sure, i've not tested it myself so i can't really say. If the Re-Remastered mod doesn't also use it's own DLL it should be compatable to some degree at least, but it may have different animations that will desync pvp.

would highly recommend not using re-remastered online, I ran into issues including crashing with the extra breakable objects that other players probably don't have in their world
