DETAILS ABOUT REFINEMENTS
RING CHANGES:
Havel's Ring - Previously functioned as a way to prevent fat rolling while wearing any medium-heavy to heavy armor. As armor weight has been reduced, mid rolling can be attained without the high investment in Endurance, so this ring now doubles your max equip load - making it a tool for fast rolling in heavy armor.
Red Tearstone Ring - Now gives a 20% attack boost when at or under 65% health. This makes it more viable for general use applications.
Blue Tearstone Ring - Now gives a 65% defense increase when at or under 50% health, making it a useful "clutch" ring that can give you just that little extra breathing room to drink your estus in dire situations.
Cloranthy Ring - Now grants 30 stamina regen instead of 20, as green blossoms no longer function as a stamina regen item.
Thunder, Flame & Spell Stoneplate Rings - Now grant 60% defense against lightning, flame and magic, making them more useful for certain encounters or boss fights.
Speckled Stoneplate Ring - Now grants 30% defense against all three elements. Very useful when combined with any of the other stoneplate rings. This ring can now be found in Ash Lake.
Ring of Steel Protection - Now grants 35% defense against physical damage. A small boost, but powerful when paired with the Blue Tearstone Ring.
Bloodbite Ring - Now provides complete immunity to bleed, which makes it somewhat useful for once.
Poisonbite Ring - Now provides complete immunity to poison. The ring costs the same amount of souls you get from the Gargoyle boss fight, so it's your choice to either sacrifice your earnings for this advantage, or go through Blighttown the old fashioned way. Note that this ring doesn't provide immunity to toxic though.
Cursebite Ring - Now provides complete immunity to curse. Needless to say, this ring can be an invaluable asset with basilisks and the Seath boss fight, giving you a good reason to visit the first area of New Londo earlier on.
Eastern Gold Alloy Ring - Formerly the East Wood Grain Ring (which marginally increased equipment durability), this ring now provides complete immunity to toxic, giving you room to breathe when leaving Blighttown and providing an advantage during the Gravelord Nito boss fight.
White Seance Ring & Darkmoon Seance Ring - now provide 2 extra attunement slots each instead of just 1.
Dusk Crown Ring - No longer halves HP, making the ring somewhat useful.
Wolf Ring - Now boosts poise by 400. This at least guarantees most regular attacks won't stagger you, while much heavier attacks will. It's not really a massive improvement, as some attacks (including attacks from rats) are hard coded to stagger you regardless.
Covetous Silver Serpent Ring - Now doubles your soul intake, offsetting the exponential increase in souls required to level up late game.
Ring of Sacrifice - Now increases soul intake by 20% while worn, providing a risk/reward way to level up faster or offer a greater reward for fighting your way back to souls you've already lost. If you die, you still keep your souls as usual.
Rare Ring of Sacrifice - Same as before, but increases soul intake by 40% while worn.
Ring of the Sun Princess - Now grants slow health recovery like its counterpart in DS3. This effect lessens the higher your max health is, as the ring recovers at a flat health point rate.
Old Witch's Ring - Now provides a ~secret~ 20% boost to souls gained. Combine with another ring and set of equipment with the same effect to boost your speedrun levelling.
Ring of the Evil Eye - Now heals 10% of your max health with each kill, making the ring useful all the way through to the end game. Pair with the Sun Princess Ring to save on estus during exploration and not have to kindle so many bonfires.
Tiny Being's Ring - Now increases the amount of healing you receive from miracles and estus by 25%, making this ring a great choice as a starting gift or a decent reward from Seigmeyer at Anor Londo.
Calamity Ring - Now doubles damage dealt as well as received, making this ring the challenge runner's substitute (of sorts) to the original Red Tearstone Ring.
BOW UPGRADES:
Bows can now be upgraded to provide equal scaling in STR, DEX, INT or FAI while preserving their physical damage. The upgrades are as follows:
Raw - Makes your bow scale with strength.
Crystal - Doubles base damage but removes scaling.
Enchanted - Makes your bow scale with intelligence.
Divine - Makes your bow scale with faith (plus anti-skeleton ability).
Occult - Bow still scales with dex but with anti-skeleton ability.
Lightning - Gives your bow pure lightning damage with no scaling.
Magic - Gives your bow pure magic damage with no scaling.
Fire - Gives your bow pure fire damage with no scaling.
Chaos - Gives your bow pure fire damage with luck scaling.
ARMOR ENHANCEMENTS:
The Maiden set now provides healing over time, with all four pieces giving a total of 4 points of HP regen per second.
The Ornstein set now provides an enormous boost to lightning defense.
The Smough set now provides increased soul intake per piece, but each piece drains your health at a rate of 1 point per second each.
The Favor set now grants 1 humanity every 10 minutes per piece.
The Shadow set now gives you the ring of fog effect (Shadow Mask), quiet movement (Shadow Leggings), the flip ring effect (Shadow Armor) and the hornet ring effect (Shadow Bracers). It won't really make the game easier but its fun to use and useful to boot.
