NIGHT OF THE LIVING 2VIEWS
A Death Road to Canada Vtuber mod
(Art by Border Reloaded)
PREMISE:
Night of the Living 2Views initially started as a graphical mod that added cosmetics to the game based on a variety of Vtubers. Over time, it has now grown into an overhaul of sorts, providing new weapons, events, perks, traits, and various tweaks and fixes to the vanilla content of the game.
INSTALLATION:
Simply copy over the .df and .png files into their respective folders in the game's directory and you're good to go. I would highly suggest backing up all of your files, alongside your saves, in case anything goes wrong or if you want to install different mods in the future. For the most part, mods for this game are incompatible for each other, so I would not suggest mix n matching unless you're comfortable with editing the files altogether.
NEW RECRUIT SYSTEM
Since the custom character save file only holds a maximum of 96 slots, a new system has been introduced to get around this limit. An option is available at the start of most game modes that allows access to a new recruiting room. Here, you can customize your party as you see fit, and even adjust the difficulty if you would like an added challenge. As these characters are no longer bound to the usual perks and traits in the game, each one has been tweaked in a variety of ways. Be aware that more powerful characters have been CURSED in order to balance out the fact that they're available at the start of the game. These characters can also be randomly found at trading camps.
With this new system, the custom character save is now obsolete, and it will no longer be updated from v23 onwards.

You were born under a bad moon.
+ All stats are increased by 3.
+ A random loot box will spawn at the start of every mission.
- The undead will NEVER stop coming.
VANILLA PERK CHANGES:
-Mechanics are better at...mechanics.
-Pyromaniac now generates small amounts of gas while driving.
-Gungineer occasionally handloads ammo while driving. It also starts with a screwdriver instead of a crowbar.
--As an added bonus, having the Gungineer perk causes certain firearms to transform into better alternatives when wielded.
-Shield of Hope starts with a shield.
-Friend of Dog has a canine familiar at all times.
-Ex-Wrestler no longer has 0 loyalty.
-Top Seller now comes with a backpack. It allows you access your trunk whenever you want, but the downside is that your Dexterity takes a large hit.
-Natural Shot starts with a Dolt Dragoon revolver. It functions similar to the musket in that it is extremely powerful, but it can only be reloaded inbetween missions.
-Pyromaniac's blowtorch has been switched out with a flare gun. It can cause small fires at a distance. They also have a Bippo lighter in place of their unarmed attack.
-Gun Collector always deposits its guns in the trunk. Saves a bit of a headache when it comes to certain trait combos.
-Surgeons have a penlight in place of their unarmed attack. They also produce two clouds per healing spray use, and can hit harder with bonesaws.
-Car Nut starts with a tighter selection of cars and comes with a tire iron.
-Pathfinders start with a canteen.
-Hidden Potential has a much higher stat cap for strength and fitness.
-Athletes can fire projectiles when using sports-related weapons (ie baseball bats, golf clubs, etc.)
-Fierce Hitter grants a devastating aoe attack if you can manage to hit a zombie while in midair.
-Support swaps out unarmed attacks with a backpack and starts with higher medical/mechanical stats. Physical stats are weaker to compensate.
-Jack of all Trades has +2 in every stat at the cost of only having 2 inventory slots.
VANILLA TRAIT CHANGES:
-Hero Type starts with a Bokken and zero wits.
-Dingus Savant has been reworked into a hardier Practical: All stats start at 3, but they are also capped at 3. Bad personality as well.
-Fast Learner has been buffed. The skill bonus prerequisites are no longer limited to 4.
-Tiny Eater receives -1 strength instead of -2. It also gives a smaller body frame, similar to the U*O*H trait.
-Inventive's trademark weapon has been switched out for a raygun that recharges between missions.
--Having the Inventive trait also causes certain items to transform into stronger alternatives when wielded.
-Warrior has a short-ranged dash instead of an unarmed attack. The dash can bypass certain objects.
-Practical starts with +1 in all stats, you boring sod.
-Grapplers do not have the ability to throw zombies as NPCs. The script was barely functional anyway.
-Back to the Wall has been completely reworked: It now grants high combat stats and a cursed sword as their only weapon. The sword requires a kill every 11 seconds. Failure to do so will result in hp loss.
-Unpredictable now randomizes ALL of your stats instead of just your personality.
-BERSERK! combat stats have been reduced to 3, but the max cap has also been increased by 3.
CUSTOM TRAIT+PERK COMBOS:
Due to the hard cap of 32 perks/traits in the game, combinations have been deployed in order to continue creating unique setups for custom characters.*
-Paranoid + Trademark Weapon = Starts with a moist nugget and rifle ammo on top of the Pillow Pal trademark weapon. (Kirsche)
-Paranoid + Top Seller = Sometimes generates Frothy Soda in-between missions. (Barmaid Kirsche)
-Bandit + Trademark Weapon = Replaces the default attack with a Dash, grants slightly higher physical stats, one less vitality, and a one-shot flintlock that reloads in-between missions. (Sandy)
-Inventive + Trademark Weapon = Makes the player model smaller and grants 0 Loyalty. The trademark weapon is also a Ray Gun that recharges in-between missions. (Sawa)
-U*O*H + Top Seller = Grants a Charming/Bandit personality. (Tenma)
-U*O*H + J*A*T*T*F*I = Grants Composure and Loyalty. (Shippa)
-U*O*H + Trademark Weapon = Grants an Oblivious personality. (Odette)
-U*O*H + Frogoon = Grants a loyal Oblivious personality along with a Stick Boot. (Lily)
-Civilized + Shield of Hope = Replaces the Buckler with a glowing, holy shield. (Sister Abigail)
-Civilized + Hidden Potential = Grants higher overall stats, but also CURSES the player.

-Specialist + Natural Shot = Starts the player off with a Bolar Star pistol. (Woozie)
-Specialist + Frogoon = Locks a Trident into the first inventory slot, and the Frogoon's Leap in the second slot. A glowing shark familiar also accompanies the player character during missions. (Gura)
-Grappler + Ex-Wrestler = While this combo was in the base game, it has been altered a bit. It now doesn't change your body type, gives slightly better stats, and makes the player yell out wrestling moves just like El Satan.
-Grappler + Big Bruiser = Removes the dex and vitality changes that Big Bruiser gives, and grants a two slot fighting style similar to Bryu's. (Izumo)
-Hero Type + Natural Shot = Grants a crappy airsoft gun that is reloaded in-between missions.

-Dingus Savant + Jelly = Replaces the default attack with an embarrassing daki. Player model becomes even bigger as well. (Spino)
-BERSERK! + Gungineer = Starts with the Dudeye hammer, replaces the default attack with a dash, and limits inventory to two slots. (Moriko)
-Dingus Savant + Desbot = Bots are replaced with Fr*ddy tulpas. (Lia)
-Speedrunner + Big Bruiser = Boxing is replaced with Karate (Gold Ship)
-Nuturing + Surgeon = Get a little mushroom buddy during missions. (Juwun)
-U*O*H + Hidden Potential = Gets a slightly different mushroom pal. (Yatsmugi)
-Top Seller + Hitman = Backpack is replaced with the Pocket Pal. The Touch of Midas also replaced unarmed attacks. (Midas)
-Pyromaniac + Specialist = Get the quickswap statmod and an axtinguisher in your second slot. Cannot pick up items at all.
*NOTE: As of v23a, most of the new traits/perks/combos are now obsolete. The new recruit system essentially makes every character unique as it does not have to reference the usual list of perks and traits.
ADDENDUM: The OMENTUM update has now increased the cap on perks and traits to 64, making the combos even MORE antiquated. Oh well.
WEAPON ADDITIONS:

- Smacker (unbreakable cardboard tube. Hippie + Trademark Weapon combo)

- Minie Rifle (a magical musket. Weebs might stumble upon it)
- Black Bort LE (a rare bb gun that hits like a truck.)
- Steer UGH (a fancier variant of the assault rifle.)
- Canadian 220 (a very fast smg that has its own unique ammo supply.)
- Snek Shot (uses pistol ammo but fires pellets.)

- D*B*S (a dull blade made to slay a dragon. Curious, is it not?)
- Purifier (acts like the heal spray, except it only damages zombies.)
- Playing Card (a very weak, yet fast version of the Windstar. A deck of 52 comes with the Lagomancer trait.)
- Legomancer Wand (spawns pukeyball creatures, but they only last for a few seconds. Trademark Weapon for the Lagomancer trait.)
- Riot Shield (slow, but capable of knocking down multiple foes and provides i-frames when used. The Shield of Hope perk starts with this.)
- Ammo Pack (spawns a variety of ammo when thrown.)
- Brick (think fast, chucklenuts!)
- Arnie 87 (alternative version of the stock shotgun. Fires slightly faster, but with weaker pellets and a wider spread.)
- The Bucket (looks like Customer Service didn't check the contents of a return item again! Can be found in hardware stores.)
- Block o' Bricks (can be thrown at enemies to produce a pile of bricks.)
- One Ply (initially viewed as worthless at the start of the apocalypse, these massive rolls of nearly transparent paper can now fetch a meager price to desperate traders.)
- Pumo (owning one of these is considered a badge of honor among weebs. Lord knows what would happen if you ever broke it.)
- Teapot (Looks fragile, but it's actually enameled cast iron. Swinging it produces puddles of tea that zombies can slip on. Feco spawns with it.)
- Herrington (Bass we can! Mari's trademark weapon.)
- Toolbox (Very robust. Spawns a random piece of furniture whenever it's swung. Sena's trademark weapon.)
- Palmer (How far north do these things grow? Spits out palm fruit whenever it's swung. Can be found in wooded areas.)
- Cocoanut (Palmer fruit might break into these from time to time. Summons a Korsche when thrown.)
- Caber (a sober person would throw this...Can be found in Shamazon boxes).
- Shinai (doesn't do much damage, but has a decent knockdown chance. It's also a bit flimsy. Can be found in shamazon and gift boxes).
- Dolt Dragoon (a black powder revolver. Extremely powerful, but it cannot be reloaded under normal circumstances. The Natural Shot perk starts with one. It can also be found in Dusty Trunks.)
- Bolar Star (a strange gun that has unlimited ammo. Can be found in Exotic Cases. The Natural Shot perk also receives the gun when combined with the Specialist trait.)
- Flare Gun (fires weak projectiles that starts small fires upon impact. The Pyromaniac perk starts with one. It can also be found in Camping Stores.)
- Bokken (similar to the Shinai, but is slower and cannot break. Can be found in Shamazon boxes. Hero Type starts with it.)
- Bonker (a longer, stronger version of the crowbar. I'a's signature weapon.)
- Six Piece (The rarest of all Kids Meal toys! Fires 6 pistol rounds at once. Watch the recoil! Can be found in Food Boxes.)
- Catsup (this stuff is too moldy to eat, but it can still be used to slip up zombies. Can be found in restaurants and Food Boxes.)
- B*A*R (a hulking relic of the past. Hits hard, but the fire rate is slow and it can't hold much ammo. Can be found in Rifle cases.)
- Sasha (windup not included. Can be found in Exotic cases.)
- A*O (spoopy. Summons I'a when used. Can be found in dusty trunks and Mansions.)
- Bippo (a sturdy lighter. It can sometimes catch things on fire and it provides a small amount of light. The pyromaniac perk has it as their unarmed attack. Can also be found in Shamazon boxes.)
- Penlight (a reskinned flashlight. Surgeons have one in lieu of their unarmed attack. Can also be found Medical Boxes.)
- Glowsticks (throws a flare onto the ground when used. The flares provide an ample amount of light, and can also be used as markers on more complex maps. Explorers have these in lieu of their unarmed attack. Can also be found in Shamazon Boxes.)
- B*F Card (That feel when no. Summons Minna when used. Can be found in gift boxes and food boxes.)
- U*O*H Card (Stands for the Ultimate Obnoxious Humanoid. Summons Nyana when used. Can be found in gift boxes.)
- Mochi Mallet (Lightweight and packs a punch, but it can break. Lunarians start with this.)
- Scattergun (Double jump not included. Fires two barrels at once. Can be found in shotgun cases.)
- Pipe Gun (A Bon Depot special. It hits slightly harder than a normal shotgun, but it takes much longer to reload and it cannot hold as much ammo in comparison. Gungineers can craft them out of metal pipes.)
- EZ Bake (These were all recalled due to being stupidly dangerous for kids. Guess a few slipped past the radar. Uses food as ammo, but it packs a HECK of a punch. Minna starts with it. Can also be found in gift boxes.)
- Meds (Thanks Doc. Grants temporary invisibility when used. Beatani starts with them. Can also be found in medical boxes.)
- N69 (A prototype weapon once conceived for only the most vile of clown-ops. Is capable of slipping ANYTHING. Nyana starts with one.)
- Lucky Coin (Heads or tails. Might summon Mauthe when used. Can be found in Dusty Trunks.)
- Chaos Tome (Summons a variety of things when used, both good and bad! Mauthe starts with one.)
- XD Laptop (This thing is ancient. Summons ??????? when used.)
- Canteen (Restores all stamina when consumed. Can be found in food boxes. Pathfinders start with one.)

- Memento (????????)
- Bektor (Shoots faster and more accurately than the Uzi, but holds less ammo in comparison. Can be found in Pistol Attache Cases. Rare Recruit Kirsche has one in her inventory.)
- Kektor (Airsoft doesn't make you cool. A certain perk/trait combo starts with one.)
- Rated R (A bloody butcher knife. Alice's signature weapon.)
- Dancing Dicer (Sometimes spawns dancing daggers when used. Shondo's signature weapon.)
- Moist Nugget (This antique still reeks of cosmoline. Hits like a truck, but slow to reload and doesn't hold much ammo. Can be found in rifle attache cases.)
- Napalm Launcher (Th-th-th-that's all folks. Uses gasoline to shoot explosive fireballs at terrifying speeds. Can be found in exotic attache cases.)
- Syringe Gun (Rapid-fires syringes in a short-ranged arc. The B*A*N perk starts with one.)
- Ampoule Arbalest (Fires a single syringe that expels damaging clouds as it comes in contact with zombies and ends with a single healing cloud. Requires two meds per shot. B*A*N starts with one. It can also be found in Medical Boxes.)
- B-Ball (Hard to find one of these things after the great b-baller purge. Functions like a throwing boot, but a bit more sturdy. Can be found in Shamazon boxes. Athletes also start with one.)
- Pluton Ball (CHAOS DUNK. Can be found in gift boxes.)
- STOP (She won't listen. Nym starts with this.)
- VLC (Safety first. Drops safety cones that can slow down the undead a little. Nym starts with this as well.)
- Zippy (Don't listen to the slander. This is THE best gun ever made. Mind your fingers, though. Can be found in pistol attaché cases. Gun Collectors also start with one.)
- BE NOT AFRAID (This shield doesn't grant i-frames, but it does provide light in dark maps. A special perk/trait combo starts with it.)
- Trident (Gura's signature weapon.)
- Frothy Soda (Functions similarly to the canteen. It is a one-time use item that instantly restores your stamina. Barmaid Kirsche can generate them occasionally.)
- BP9 Rippers (A pair of pastel pistols. Fires a sequence of bullets that only uses a single round per volley. Siege Event Pippa starts with these.
- Kursed Kris (An extremely powerful knife that comes with a terrible setback: zombies will never stop spawning while it is equipped. Use at your own risk! Can be found in dusty trunks.)
- Dingy Daki (The bar standard for dakis. Fast, but deals very little damage. Can also make you smelly sometimes. Pippa starts with this.)
- YIIK (AAH I'M YIIKIN OUT. Slightly stronger than other dakis, but it can break.)
- Pillow Pal (Definitely not based on a popular anime character. Costs no stamina to use, but is the weakest daki by far. Kirsche loves it.)
- Heck Boi (Sometimes packs a whallop!)
- Vlyat (Wirecutters not included. Feels like someone stashed a gun in the padding...)
- Shinju (There was a mass recall on this brand; swords were used instead of polyester for the body.)
- Masha (Some kid's OC. Looks like it was custom made. Something is leaking gas inside of it.)
- M1ku (The convention standard. Faint robotic whispers emanate from within it.)
- Katsu (Wait, this isn't the official daki! Still smells like ketchup, though. Spino starts with it.)
- Kotsu (Why. Smells like coconuts.)
- Kero (This thing is full of springs!)
- aSPERGillus (Mold has almost completely taken over this daki. Plumes of toxic spores sometimes burst out of it when used.)
- Blank (Nothing special.)
- Blunderbread (Just looking at this daki sends chills down your spine. It might produce food sometimes, but zombies will never stop coming for you while it's equipped.)
- Chekhov-Chan (Pippa's latest waifu. Spawns single-use guns when swung.)
- Zoloto (A gold-plated revolver. Secret item.)
- Iaito (A very fast katana. Secret item.)
- Mike-U (Constantly blasted tinny japanese vocals when wielded. Secret item.)
- Sippy (Functions similarly to the ZUNtory. It's an infinite-use stamina recovery drink. Eimi starts with it.)

GACHA LOOT:
To create a less invasive way to add in all of these new weapons, rng weapon crates have been inserted into the current loot tables of the game. Using this method, any future items in the mod can simply be added to these containers instead of being manually placed around the maps:
- Pistol Case: Exactly what it says on the tin.
- Rifle Case: Ditto.
- Shotgun Case: Same.
- Exotic Case: Spawns a random high-tier gun/gimmick weapon.
- Gift Box: Mostly spawns toys. Mostly.
- Dusty Trunk: Contains antiques.
- Velvet Chest: High-tier antiques.
- IGEA Box: Creates a random piece of sturdy furniture when used. Handy when you need a barricade, or something to throw around if you're strong enough.
- Shamazon Box: Junk, usually.
- Food Box: Spawns food and kitchen utensils.
- Medical Box: Spawns medical supplies and hospital tools.
- O*B*B: Spawns any of the the gacha containers listed above.
- Weeabox: Contains japanese baubles, primarily dakis.
- Cursed Chest: Drops high-tier loot, but also summons a very angry necromancer that chases you for the remainder of the mission.
- Magic Box: Contains spells and magical artifacts. Can be found in gift boxes, dusty trunks, and velvet chests.
- Fire Box: In case of emergency, break glass. Usually contains fire extinguishers, but you might find something more exciting every once in awhile. Can be found in factory maps and kitchens.
VANILLA WEAPON CHANGES:
- Meat Cleavers and 2x4s are now unbreakable.
- The cowboy, hunting, and sniper rifles shoot faster and have more penetration.
- The Dolt 45, Snub Nose, and the Slug Shotgun have also been buffed in a similar manner.
- The metal pipe and shovel are slightly faster.
- 2x4s, logs, and big logs can now be sold. The ultimate log is also worth more. Lumber is expensive these days!
- Biboo cannot pick up pickaxes, for lore-related reasons.
- Bows use much less stamina.
- The Stick Boot has been switched from being a copy of the Scythe to a copy of the modspear.
- Scalpels are more fragile, but they won't break on zombies.

DEBUG CODES:
To input these, hit the tilde ( ` ) key while driving and while no menus or dialogue are visible:

road{ kirsche-test } - Recruits Kirsche
road{ siege1-yabcabin } - Starts Shondo's siege event
NOTES:
-Supposedly, the mod works just fine on the mac and iOS versions of the game, but it requires a bit more legwork with root controls and whatnot on the android version. I have no means of testing any of this out myself, however, so attempt using the mod on other platforms at your own risk.
-Hit the tilde (') key to continue playing if the game ever throws out an error. Also, I would appreciate any bug reports when this happens.
-Since the game does online multiplayer via Steam's remote play option, only the host needs to have the mod files installed.
SPECIAL THANKS:
- Snakai and JTGSZ, for assisting with troubleshooting various issues regarding the code.
- Yatsmugi, Kirsche, Woozie, Sena, Martyr, Seelie, Sawa, Kaera, and RAZ, for streaming the mod.
