Permissions and credits

"Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate 3BC4B since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer-thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was carved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of millions of miles, it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for textures like these, at this micro-instant for 3BC4B. Hate."

Before you install, make sure you have a clean copy of your .d26 and your .idx file stored.

This mod is compatible with both Steam and Epic Games versions!

UPDATE as of 4th March 2025:

I come bearing gifts... for the Steam version. Connor has black pants now. I also fixed the top of the tie, as I had originally uploaded this mod with the wrong version of the shirt retexture and didn't realize for a while. Oops. Sorry guys. Don't worry, though... it is fixed now. No longer will you have to deal with the random vantablack knot.

If you'd like to recompile the textures for the Epic Games version and are at least somewhat proficient with modding, let me know ASAP so I can allow this to be more accessible; you will receive credit, obviously.

Also
please send me your edits please they're really good you guys. Starving over here.

Mini update 16th March 2025 I decided to add a white shirt variant. Ok bye again

You may continue reading now. xx

After much, much testing from myself and my dedicated tester @TacoTuesWade whom is essentially Connor in the flesh, I am here to provide Black Suit Connor. The mod is very straightforward and simple - it recolors Connor's suit, shirt, and tie to be entirely black. The tie itself is matte, as per my custom recolor of the texture, and retains its shiny/glossy reflection in rain and in bright lighting. The default file is just the suit with no android armband/triangle recolor, and the alternate is a desaturated off-white armband/triangle. The screenshots taken were with full brightness and no ReShade filters. It is playable on lower brightness settings, but if you wish to retain the full reflective glare I highly suggest giving max brightness a go, or applying a bloom effect via ReShade.

If you wish to reuse aspects of my mod, I give you full permission, as long as you link back to the original upload here. A lot of time went into making this work, and even if I am not the first to discover and recolor the suit like this, I did make a lot of otherwise buggy and unattractive aspects entirely non-existent. I'd appreciate that a lot.

To install, extract the files and drag & drop to your game directory and overwrite when prompted.

To uninstall, replace the files in your directory with the backups of your .d26 and .idx files. Verify your files after, just in case.

There are not many bugs, but here are the ones my tester and I have found:

- The clip sometimes bugs out when Connor adjusts his tie.

- Although we have not been able to replicate this, in On The Run during the beginning half of the mission as Kara, her pants texture may freak out a little. It is a rare bug my tester found and beyond that it is still entirely playable and is not a permanent issue as it fixes itself in the next chapter that is playable as Kara.

- This is a consistent issue with ALL android marker recolors on this site, but some androids share the markers used by Connor if you download the alternate version. It shouldn't look too freaky, but keep that in mind if you desire continuity and don't want mismatched android color bands in your game.

- When infiltrating CyberLife Tower or heading to the rooftop with your sniper rifle, due to the models that are changed to retain physical damage to the coat, the shirt textures appear a sort of vantablack. They are not invisible, they are just extremely dark. If you want to fix this at the cost of losing visible damage to Connor's suit, you can head to the model swapper and swap the second Connor model over the third one.

Special thanks to these folks here: Aaron and Reicito @ Deadray that created the DBH editing tool and model swapper respectively. Aaron for his work in creating the tool itself, and Reicito for the model swapper that fixed the most annoying issues with this mod. I also want to thank Kayla for her tutorial as this gave me a little guidance on where I should look. I sincerely thank each and every one of you. Despite the very limited tutorials, the few that I have come across have been the biggest assistance to me and it is incredibly invaluable.

Photos were all taken with the freecam tool developed by the amazing and incredibly talented Otis_Inf. True game changer.

HUGE thank you to IdkNils who took the time to compile the textures into the Epic Games version of DBH! Because of you, all PC platform players are able to enjoy this mod, your patience is off the charts. Thank you, sincerely.

Last but certainly not least is a dedicated thank you to @TacoTuesWade for his help in pointing out issues that I was able to rectify and for doing actual full playthroughs to assist me. I am sincerely indebted to your perseverance and reports in helping me fix many of the bugs I came across. Thank you.

If you wish to create your own armband recolors/custom text in place of the RK800 text on Connor's jacket, follow the tutorial to Kayla's Tumblr that I have linked above. This mod replaces Jericonnor with a Connor model, so if you want the original Jericho infiltration outfit back, you can use the model swapper for that, too.

Thank you to everyone who has the patience to actually read this far. I sincerely appreciate it. Enjoy, and feel free to share screenshots!
