Great mod but man this could really use clearer instructions your instructions are a bit too vague.
When you say "Do not extract the .rar files" people don't know which rar files you're talking about, you could be talking about the fluffy manager files or the mod files. I'm sitting here wondering if this is some kind of special installation where I'm not supposed to extract the fluffy manager files because you didn't say which one and this is what you're saying after "requires fluffy manager for installing".
And then I have to figure out where this DMC5/mods directory is - is it in my steam folder? Where is this [modmanager] folder located because I'm still not even sure if you meant not to extract the fluffy manager files. I think you can see now how it can get very confusing.
But anyway the instructions should be more like: 1. Download fluffy mod manager from this link (first link on that page): http://residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/10142/modding-pak-files 2. Install fluffy mod manager to directory of your choosing. 3. Download the DS4 button mod via manual download, do not extract the contents. 4. Go to the directory you installed fluffy mod manager at then go to \Games\DMC5\Mods and place the DS4 button mod rar archive in that folder. 4. Run Modmanager.exe located in the main fluffy mod manager folder then click on the small square on the left of the mod name to install it, it will say installed in the log at the bottom left. You might have to first select 'Choose a game' on the menu to the right then select Devil May Cry 5 from that list, I can't remember if I had to. 5. Done, launch the game and you won't have to open the manager and press 'launch game' every time, this basically patched the game with the ds4 butons once and for all.
Hi, tried both switch controller layout mods but is there way have both the regular mod's button display and the abxy flip's correct button setting? It's been bothering me how off it felt.
So there is a DS4 controller image in the game files, but there's no highlighting textures for when the DS4 buttons are pressed, only for xbox's controller layout? Do I understand you correctly?
@czyys, that's not entirely true. When I tried to edit the controller image, there is DS4 controller image in the tex file and the highlight textures. But the highlight function is still for xbone layout, for example the position of analog.
If you really want the DS4 image I can disable the highlight function.
This mod is like really weird now, ive had it installed before but im installing it again on a fresh install and only the part of the mod that gets the icons on the controller image works, no actual prompts in the menus work and i assure you i am installing it correctly...
edit: okay i installed it again like 3 times and now it works suddenly?? okay
