First of all, thanks for the mod! Just a little question, if I installed the mod with a lvl 76 character, is there a way to make all those already gained level to give me the 2 skill points that I configured? For now, it seems that only further level up will give me extra points.

I know I'm 2 years late, and you likely have either figured this out, or moved on to another game by now. However I had a similar question and came up with a solution, so I'm putting this here in an effort to help anyone in the future.

The number of skill points doesn't have to stay static, you can change it between play sessions. So I just wanted 2 skill points per level. So for each of my characters I just configured the mod to give current level + 2 skill points. I then logged in, played until I leveled, and spent my points.

I might note: For my first character, I gave him 5*his level in abilitiy points too. This seems to have broken something. It was 175 points, and the character sheet said I had -69 points available, and that number just kept going down further into the negatives. I think I spent all the points, and when I logged in later after leveling another character, everything seemed fine. It was really weird, though. On future characters, I just left their ability points at 10 per level. I don't think those points are going to make that big of a difference.

Good Evening, is there a way to install the mod without D2RMM?

Yes, I would like to know this as well. I used the command line -mod ModifyPoints -txt but it doesn't do anything but make it impossible to join my own solo game, keep getting failed to join. If i uncheck the addition args box and launch, boom, works fine, but no mod. Is this one only compatible via D2RMM?

Nice mod, tho Im losing points here and there, I dont know exactly when.

    Now i'm at 179str / 150dex / 930vit / 1350 energy
Im supposed to be 100pts/lvl, at level 53 it's a total of 5200 points, but I lost half of it I dont know why.

Maybe 100/level is too much for the mod to support it?

I think there is a cap. I had a hacked character before and there is definitely a cap to stats and life and mana. its possibly way too much.

I know this comment is months old, but I'll leave this comment for posterity and maybe someday someone will come along with an actual answer.

I remember looking into what the max stat points might be, but there was never any good information for it. Some people thought maybe 999 because 3 digits, others said it must be 65535 because of computer science reasons, but at the end of the day it was all just people making guesses. No one (that I could find!) has actually taken the time to test if 10 or 100 or 1000 skill points per level will actually work or if it will (eventually) break things.

So it's not a satisfying answer, but I'm pretty sure that the only answer to "What is the max stat points in D2?" is "No one really knows." If you're reading this and think "I have the answer!", please provide as much proof as you can, because I've had no luck finding any up to this point!

      it's 1024.
You cant have more than 1024 on a stat, and if you upgrade it in your game, leave the game and rejoin, it comes back to 1024.

which makes sense in computer language

Is there anyway to get this to work with a current character?
I realized half-way through my build (level 50) that I felt I wanted to try with 3 skillpoints per level.
However if I now enable this mod, and set it to 3 pts, then do a character reset in game (through token) I dont get the full skillpoint collection, should be around 150 pts for a level 50?

Otherwise, great mod thank you! :)

I can't get more than 6 skill points per level with this mod

What's wrong? I setted this to 10 SP per level

P.S. My bad - forgot to update the mod

Hello again. So sorry to bother you with another problem but now I can't even get this mod to show up in D2RMM. Even if it's the only mod in the folder.

I'm not very knowledgeable about mods, so maybe I'm doing something wrong? Please see attached screenshot link

Open that folder with the long name and move the "ModifyPoints" folder out of it, and into the mods folder.

hey there! This mod is extremely helpful for me. I really appreciate it!

I've been using it for a while now, but the other day it partially stopped working. I've narrowed down the mods I use and I think this is the only one that could cause it to happen.  Please see the attached screenshot - the skills aren't showing up and I can't click on them when I level up. Basically I can't increase any points in any of my skills. I tried to use an old save file, no luck. I tried to remove other mods, no luck. I'm not sure what else I can do.

    Any suggestions?
    screenshot?
Thanks again for the mod and all you've been doing!

The only file I touch with this mod is CharStats.txt, and that file doesn't contain anything that would break your skill trees like that as far as I know.

Sorry, but I can't help you with that. Good luck!

Do you happen to have a link to that mod? I can't find it in the D2R mod list....I could have missed it though.

Also I figured out what was causing the skill tree to vanish like that. It wasn't this mod-it was another (now un-useable mod)!
      Thanks!
