Would really like to try this mod out, but.. just downloaded yesterday, it just crashes every time i try to play. yesterday it let me in but would crash everytime i opened inventory. today it just crashes and i can't even play.. im using the -direct -txt but earlier version had something about -offline maps?? am i doing the right thing?
Inventory is buggy in D2R, particularly stash-related. Text version should work like mpq version -offline maps parameter is optional. You could try deleting character/clean stash (backup first). It's a known bug in other mods.
Same thing for me with a new character and empty stash on the MCE version. It seems buggy because there are dead zones where you can't put items. (I tried the normal version and it doesn't seem affected) I've encountered other issues: -Barbare throwing mastery skill doesn't work -I looted a Matriarchal bow but we could only see the name. The object is invisible on the ground and in the inventory.
I've just read the description and liked most of concept of the mod. But for one thing I cannot accpet is "grind to win". If mobile games are “pay to win", then diablo is definitely a "grind to win" game. And this mod seems doesn't change a thing about it.
To me "grind" is a very negative word, it means you want to achieve smth. but the progress is very repetative and boring. In the case of Diablo, it is a failed design trying to combine single player game and online game. The gameplay content is 100% single player, but the droprate is online. That cause the progress of getting stronger is lack of designed gameplay, which makes the game very repetative. Yes I know a lot of people likes to farm Palnderskin 1000 times, but the motivation of this is more like gambling, and I don't like it, and I don't believe anyone actually likes the "the expierence of killing Palnderskin 1000 times”, the just like to loot it.
So I assume no matter how delicte the mod is designed, the final reaction to this mod is still"killing Palderskin 1000 times"? right?
A very nice mod. Runewords, while a nice idea, just went above the call of duty and became the de facto choice for most builds. Enigma, Pledge etc. Most of those were Ladder only(and for a very good reason), but nvm. I have another question:
What do you think about Skills? Do you think they could use a rebalance pass too? If so, how?
If you're using the .txt version, it's the first mod installed, and D2RMM performs all modifications on top of it, it should work perfectly—or at least with minimal tinkering.
No, but you can include the formulas it in the cubemain.txt file if you wish.
As for the the bug, I have no idea what's causing it, since I checked the formulas and they were OK.
I uploaded an alternate version of the formula, it might fix the error. I currently cannot check whether it works or not, but I'm 99% certain it now should work (separated 'All' into Weapons and Armor).
This mod is amazing. Playing HC with it and it's scary now with low resists in the beginning. Can't wait for the thrill of finding cool rares and jewels! Been used to have 8 stash tabs though. 4 tabs feels very low if one wants to save good gear for other characters, or trying to gather full MF sets. Jewels are going to need some space too. I havent found muling that fun mechanic to play around.
1.4 Rune overhaul sounds cool. Cant wait for that either. Cheers!
1.4 is looking fun in the couple of test runs I've done so far, finding Runes is doubly more exciting, and so are Transformation and Alternation Gems. It'll probably be out next week, but still there's a lot of work to do, so I'll have to shove some stuff into the 1.5 burner.
As for Stash tabs, I think these games make hoarders out of all of us, as we like keeping items because we associate "value" in them. In all honesty I feel like we could dump 90% of our Stash—and still we wouldn't touch the remaining 10%. I think 4x Stash tabs with +44% size (about 6 Stash tabs in vanilla) is more than enough.
I don't like the idea of infinite storage space as I think it's a well-defined resource in ARPGs which we must learn how to use efficiently, and discern what to keep and what to dump, and removing that management element from the game ultimately decreases difficulty and players don't have to make hard choices with their items. Item filters are very related to this concept as well.
In a perfect world, I would make more personal Stash tabs accessible by paying in-game Gold (or some such), since once again I feel it's a resource with a lot of value, and not simply a QoL feature. Sadly, D2 is very limited in this regard, so my hands are currently tied.

The Color theme you used in the post is also very professional.
Keep up the good work !
Will try future versions.
Keep up the good work.
1.3 probably broke some stuff if you had characters from older versions.
Once again, if possible, it might be hard if it keeps crashing, but if it ever does again that is.
I've encountered other issues:
-Barbare throwing mastery skill doesn't work
-I looted a Matriarchal bow but we could only see the name. The object is invisible on the ground and in the inventory.
/edit:
The Matriarchal Bow issue has been fixed.
Throwing seems to be a bit trickier and will probably take a bit longer.

But I have to ask, does it work with D2RMM? I'd like to install it with some mods that add qol and increase monster density
One more thing, is there recipe for set item base upgrade?
