So ım playing Ultimate Edition on Steam and got the exact same problem, would you know anything can be different from old versions? My game is 1.05 and placing your files to override file both on Bioware Documants or steamapps DAO game file unfortunately doesnt work on map pup-up of deep woods. If you have any idea to give advice ı be grateful.
The correct installation location for this (and other override mods) is [user]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override, and not the game's program install folder.
There are no other mod or file requirements. It won't work if it isn't placed in the Documents/Bioware override folder..
The mod should work on any current version of the game. (Version 1.05 is over a decade old, and anyone who used these files over the years would have been playing with that final patch.)
The mod just corrects and replaces some base game files that incorrectly flag the quest as a 'Plot' quest (one that triggers in the quest log after a certain plot milestone) rather than as a 'Chanter's Board' quest (which must be accepted from the jobs board). If it is installed correctly (unzip the download, place the files in the correct override folder) and the requirements for the quest are met (free Jowan from the Redcliffe dungeon with the dialogue option 'Run. I never want to see you again.' and Arl Eamon revived with ashes) the script tells the quest to appear on the Denerim Chantry Job board... I am at a loss to explain why it is not working, after years of reports that it works as intended. :-(
I understand I'm playing a 15 year old game and no one will see this, but this mod did not work for me. In my file, I was able to pick up the quest from the chantry board, and it shows in my journal, but thats as far as it goes. I cant go anywhere to finish the quest. I found this link from the wiki.
I have: - "Plus Healing received fix" by kend7510. This was installed by using 'daupdater' and selecting the dazip. - "Madd gift guide" by maddbomber83. This was installed by putting files in the override folder - "Character Respecialization" by weriKK. This was installed by using 'daupdater' and selecting the dazip.
I also got 4gb LAA patch compatible DAOrigins exe file from warralek which isnt really a mod.
So to recap, i have the quest in my journal (got it from chantry board) but the place that is supposedly supposed to show on the world map does not show.
Thank you for the additional information. None of those mods would conflict or interfere with the script for the Jowan quest.
I really can't explain why you were able to obtain the quest from the board, but the quest area isn't showing on the map... the same script handles both functions (accepting the quest activates the location on the World Map).
There is a built in console debugging script that (according to the DA wiki) can be used to teleport to the map location.
As I wrote in the mod's documentation, it is a standalone fix for a bugged quest, called 'Jowan's Intention', which should trigger if you free Jowan from the Redcliffe dungeon, by telling him "Run. I never want to see you again."
Without a fix (like this mod), the bugged subsequent quest will not be available from the Chanter's Board in Denerim.

Anyone who comments to just say they don't like the mod will be blocked from my content.
Constructive criticism is fine. Informing me that you personally have no use for a mod is of no value.

And ı tried multiple times on both folders but unfortunately it didnt work and ı can't download toolset to figure it out myself.
Is there something ı must download before copying this mod? Like download Modmanager or general Fix mods or something?
I think it doesnt appear because my game version is 1.05 and ultimate editon rather than standart one.

Do you have any other mods installed? If so, what are they? And how are you installing them?

Thanks to this mod, I was able to complete this quest for the first time ever (I used to play on XBox).
