If you are using the Owain morph, you will need the following mod for his Tranquil Tattoo

Tranquil Tattoo - Created by MsBarrows
    https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/3643 (file needed uh_tat_tranq01_0t)

If you are missing Carroll's hair it can be found here:
The Hairald of Andraste - Created by Risibisi
    https://mrs-risibisi.tumblr.com/post/182808333074/look-hair-hair-depository-request-more-look

If you are missing the skin texture from Alfstanna's face (I forgot to include the Ferelden Models mod in the required list)
https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/3295 (file needed is the FM file, it contains the skin complexion needed it is an erf file, so just drop it into the override folder for the game)

Lily from Mage Origin Hair can be found here:
    https://mrs-risibisi.tumblr.com/post/147282354234/look-hair-inquisition-edition-description

One of Sanga's skin complexions can be found here:
ARTHMIS’ COMPANION MORPHS - Created by Arthmis (do not keep the morrigan.mor file that comes with this mod unless you want to use it,
otherwise it will conflict with any Morrigan mod you have)
https://arthmismods.tumblr.com/post/182402390724/arthmis-companion-morphs-link-also-known-as (skin complexion file from Morrigan folder uh_hed_Morri_0d &
    uh_hed_Morri_0n)

Please use the older version of Dalishious's Skin Tints, the files needed are in that version not in the newer one.
    https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4619

If you are using Alternate Bella face morph you need to download the following the mod for her hair tints:
True Colours REDUX (download Additional Tints)
    www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4523  (you need files dls_har_red & dls_stb_red).

I'm super duper attached to this mod, I love it lol
I had a question, is there any way to turn one of these replacers into a preset for the Player Character? I keep finding myself envious of all the npcs

I could make one of them a mop file to use in the CC but it would look a bit different around the eyes & nose. I made the faces in the da origins toolset & turning them into mop files to use in the CC ends up resetting the eyes & nose. You can always adjust that when you are in the CC of course since the face would be an adjustable preset like the vanilla preset options.  The sculpting I did to the face should remain the same of course along with the skin complexions & other things I used.

And thank you, I am glad you like my mod :-D

Hi again girlstandstill ! Another question. :)

In the optional section, there is an Alternate Gilmore and Bella version. This brief description below is part of it.

"If you do not have hairstyle day v2 already installed, please use this for Ser Gilmore & Bella"

I had planned on using both Hairstyle Day and Hairstyle Day v2. Does that mean I shouldn't use the alternate version of Bella?

I saw the alternate Bella in the image section and it really looks nice. I'd like to use it, but if it's not compatible, then the one is the main file works also, since it's pretty good too. The alternate just has a touch more of a realistic look to it. =P

    Update:
I think I already got my answer from your other mod. The Couslands of Highever
**Download Alternate Oriana Cousland, If you do not have Hairstyle Day V2 (same face, different hair)**

Is that the same case here also?

Thanks again for all the previous help and your continued support of your mods (though I think you mentioned somewhere that you stopped additional modding DAO). :)

Hello again :-D a few years ago the modder that did Hairstyle Day V.1  V.2 hid the mod for a little while so I made alternate versions for anyone who wasn't able to download the mod. But if you like the alternate version of Bella better you can definitely use it, just make sure to delete the Bella mor file from the main mod & use the alternate version instead. You will still need Hairstyle day 1 & 2 for any face morphs that require it of course. And you are right it is the same case, I had the same issue with Oriana's mor file when the hair mod I used for her was hidden.

I have returned to making mods for the Dragon Age games again, so I am still updating & adding new stuff & if I do stop again, I will still support my mods, I try to keep back ups of all the stuff I make & I have the dragon age toolset backed up.

Let me know if you need any more help :-D

@ girlstandstill Thanks for the quick reply !

I now have a better handle on what to do after your explanation. I guess you never know when a mod author decides to change the status of a mod. I can see where this could drastically affect other mods that depend on it for support. Real life affects modders just like anyone else,  which is unfortunate, but completely understandable. I feel lucky they're willing to spend so much of their precious time giving to the community as it is, without which we would never have enjoyed so much extended pleasure from of our favorite games. :)

Glad to hear you're back to modding again for the DA series. And it's always good to back up files (which I do to more than one device just in case), cause you never know when something happens to our hardware, like what happened to TSM, ouch (another amazing modder). I look forward to your future mods and thanks again for the help. :)

I am glad to hear that :-D and you are right real life can often get in the way of modding projects that is for sure. I know for myself I love making mods & using them, so I am happy to keep making & sharing them with others while I am able to. Mods definitely breathe new life into older games & let you personalize newer ones how you like. I think it is really great that game devs see the benefit of the modding community too, with CDPR & Larian offering modding tools now for their games, so many new amazing mods have been possible. It does suck about what happened with TSM losing files is awful, especially when you work so hard on something. And thank you, I am planning on a bunch of new mods for Origins that I hope to have out in the next few months. No problem :-D if you ever have any other questions feel free to ask.

Sooo I've had this issue for awhile, but didn't pay much attention to it until now because I want to make a Let's Play series of this game and I'd like all of my mod issues fixed before I start that. I started over without Realistic Teeth and still had this issue so it's not that mod this time but Daveth during The Joining cutscene does his very best Nicholas Cage meme impression here:
    Spoiler:
    Show

. He's supposed to not be showing his pupils at all. Then right after this, he falls to the ground and his eyes shoot out of their sockets:
    Spoiler:
    Show

but weird smaller eyes that have 6 pupils on each side like dice lol.

This hasn't happened to any other NPC that I've seen so far but I haven't done extensive testing. Only got to Lothering in my mod testing run.

Can you show me a picture of what Daveth looks like in your game before the joining? Based on the pictures it looks like you still have the realistic teeth mod installed, that mod changes the shape of certain face features & that looks like what is happening here. If you removed the mod, did you remove other mods that were compatible with it, because those mods would be the culprit as they are made to work specifically with the realistic teeth mod. In any case, the issue you are having isn't due to the face morph I made, I checked it out in game & things function normally for me. Do you have a joining ritual fix mod or something installed?

Not sure what I did wrong but holy s#*! wtf happened to Duncan??
    Spoiler:
    Show

He lost his tan and became ghostly pale. Also his chin is clipping thru his beard.

I have all of the mods so I'm not sure what's wrong.

EDIT: I guess we were supposed to download the OLD files of that mod. I got the correct files for his skin and Duncan now has his health back (thankfully) and is looking great! He still has the chin clipping thru his beard tho. How would I fix that?

Sadly, that mod is not compatible with my faces. If you take a look at my screenshot of Duncan versus the one you posted, there is more than just the skintone difference. The eyes, nose, etc all don't look the same & it is because of the realistic teeth mod. I don't use that mod so none of the face morphs I make is compatible with it.

    Hello girlstandstill !

If you are missing Carroll's hair it can be found here:
The Hairald of Andraste - Created by Risibisi

    - If I skip this one, will there be a default hair or will she be bald or missing textures? Or does it have to be this specific hair mod?

Lily from Mage Origin Hair can be found here:

    - If I skip this one, will there be a default hair or will she be bald or missing textures? Or does it have to be this specific hair mod?

One of Sanga's skin complexions can be found here:
ARTHMIS’ COMPANION MORPHS - Created by Arthmis (do not keep the morrigan.mor file that comes with this mod unless you want to use it,
otherwise it will conflict with any Morrigan mod you have)

    - If I skip this one, will there be a default skin or will it use one of the other skin textures I may use or there be missing textures?  Or does it have to be this specific skin complexation mod?

Thanks for any answers you can provide. :)

    Happy Holidays !!

If you skip any of the required mods the faces will not appear as they do in the screen shot. The characters will appear bald & without the skin texture will look like a ghost. So you will need to download the required mods for the faces to work properly. If you have any questions about how to get the requirements, I can always help answer any questions.

Thank you so much for the quick reply and answers. I may indeed need some help if I use just specific faces, though I personally like many of the faces. They are well done. :)

Also, would you happen to know if there are any compatibility issues with the following mods? (I may have a few more to list once I sort them out)
      https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4689 - Qwinn's Ultimate DAO Fixpack v3.52
      https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4384 - Dain's Fixes

I consider both essential as far as bugfixes, though probably won't use most of the tweaks in Dain's Fixes (may even just delete that folder if it's safe to)

I was going to compare the files of other mods with yours, but the "Preview file contents" link does work for the main mod here. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes I can't preview the files for some mods. Unfortunately, this happen to be one of them. I have to try to preview it here first, since my game is installed on another SSD that requires a separate reboot.

I use both Dain's Fixes & Qwinn's Ultimate fix pack, so there shouldn't be any problems using my face mods with either of those. The only compatibility issue with any of my mods would be with other mods that alter the same files. So any mods that change the same face files that I do would be incompatible, bug fix mods don't usually touch cosmetic stuff unless it is a bug.

And thank you :-D Let me know if you need any help with downloading any of my faces. That is weird if you click the preview on the optional files it shows the mod contents, I wonder if it is because the main mod has more file folders. The faces are separated to make it easier for people to pick & choose which ones they want.

Thank you again for the quick reply!

I will thoroughly go through all the files face files for duplicates and I think there is a mod that allows checking for duplicates or maybe it was a mod manager, I forgot. I do plan to use almost all of yours, maybe even all, once I do enough compares.

It's funny but I've played the game many times over the years and never bothered with mods or bugfixes and not suddenly I spend days obsessing over so many mods haha. I'm actually following a Steam guide that someone put in a lot of effort into, I believe it's called: DAO Comprehensive Modding Guide (Ultimate Edition). I don't have a link atm, but it's a long guide though haha.

As for the preview issue, it seems to be random as far as I can tell. Next time I login it may work lol and a different one that did work, won't. Most times I don't need to worry, but since I have to transfer all the mods via USB drive and DAO has so many mods, I try to preview them all if possible. And I too can preview the Optional files. It really is a strange issue as I've seen some really large mods with huge amounts of subfolders that previewed just fine.

And thank you for making it modular btw, it makes it so much easier for people to install/uninstall mods if something works or they find something different they want to try. I wish more mod authors did that or maybe if Nexus had some suggested guidelines to help them organize or use as a standard. DAO modding is already so complicated, organized folder/file structures truly is a blessing.

Modding the older Dragon Age games is definitely a lot more complicated than the newer games. Especially since there are different mod types that require different mod managers & ways of adding the mods to the game. When I first started modding these games it was really difficult as a user, it took me forever to figure out & once I did I started making them myself. I try to be as clear as I can with instructions & available to answer questions if people need help, I remember how hard it was for me so I like to make it a bit easier for those just getting started with mods for these games. When you play the game with mods, especially with Qwinn's fixpack, it feels like a new game because you see all the bugged content that you miss out on playing without the mods. If you ever need a visual guide to go with what you found from Steam, there are a lot of really great tutorials on YouTube that will show you how to add the mods to the game, I found that to be pretty helpful when I started out.

It's always nice to have clear step by step instructions. As a person coming from a QC background, it was always important in my line of work.

So it's always a huge relief for those trying to use mods, when mod authors take the time to explain as specific as possible. Even so far as to point out exact folders and files or even outdated versions vs the latest of a particular required mod, in whole or in parts. Though of course I consider just releasing the mod itself a huge service to the gaming community. :)

And thanks for keeping an open door for future assistance on the mod. I'll try to make sure my future questions (if any) are as detailed as possible along with any source related to the question. :)

      Hello again!

for the: Tranquil Tattoo - Created by MsBarrows
      https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/3643 (file needed uh_tat_tranq01_0t)

There seems to be 3 main file downloads, though the 3rd one is shaved head, so likely not that one. All 3 downloads contain the mentioned file. So which version do I need?

Also, one of the Misc downloads (tattoo only, no morphs) contains the required file as well.

for the Real Pigment: A Skin Tint fix - Created By Ashhawk (you listed this as optional but recommended)
      https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5559

There is also 3 main downloads; one version each for Dark, Medium and Pale lips. Which version did you use for yours? The images you posted have the look of medium/pale mix.

      Hello again :-D

The download you need for the Tranquil tattoo is in the option files section of that mod page, it is the "just tattoos" file. You will unzip that file & put the contents into your game's override folder. With the optional Real Pigment mod I went with the medium lips option, this particular mod is really great because it fixes the patchy skin problem the vanilla game has. Ashhawk also has an HD facial hair & eyebrow mod that I highly recommend, it is a huge improvement.

      Hello again as well. :)

Ah ok, so the whole contents of that one download unzipped, not just the single file within it. Gotcha, thanks for that clarification. Also, I don't know why I said Misc lol, I meant Optional, now that I went back to check it out again. =P

True, they do look wonderful (and medium seems to be the preferred from the comments, which I completely agree), though for some reason I don't recall the patchy skin when last I played. I wonder if I used a mod in the past, it has been a few years since I last played, so I must have forgotten a lot lol. Ashhawk is indeed a very talented mod author (much like yourself :) ), so I will certainly check out the HD facial hair & eyebrow mod. Just curious, did you use this last mod for any parts of Faces of Thedas? I wanted to see I could find a related image here if that's the case. *Edit: ah was it the other optional you mentioned (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5528)? If so, then I did indeed download that. I probably confused myself earlier and now probably you as well haha.

Ok, I'm off to continue my download of yet more mods for this game. I can't believe how many days it's taking to do all this haha. Sometimes trying to be meticulous in taking notes for each mod is taking so much time. I may end up sending more time download and modding that I do actually playing the game again haha. (well, I suppose 2-3 hours a day, doesn't count as a whole day =P )

Though I will admit, I am having fun going through all these mods, seeing the images and reading all the helpful comments. (leaving aside some of the weird negative comments of people who don't even download the mod lol, it's a mystery why they bother lol)

For this mod in particular, the screenshots of most of the characters I had Ashhawk's HD Eyebrow & Facial hair mod installed. If you look close enough at the eyebrows you'll will see a bit more definition & less smudgy looking textures. The other mod I use is by Mulderitsme & they did just eyebrows, but only Ser Cauthrien & Alternate Anora are pictured using them as that mod & Ashhawks aren't compatible unless you overwrite the eyebrows.

The patchy skin issue in the game is more noticeable on characters that have darker skintones, like Duncan, Zevran & Kinnon. The mod also works well for paler skintones, especially with the lips.

Getting into modding can be a bit of work at first, especially with each new game that you learn to add mods to, but once you get used to it and have done it, it becomes a lot easier. When I first started using mods, it was with Origins & DA2 then I started using mods for Mass Effect trilogy before the remaster came out & oh my gosh the original trilogy is a nightmare to mod. Remaster is so much easier & not as difficult to learn as the OT, since the there was more steps involved previously. Sadly, this site has a lot of users who just come here to make hateful comments, it sucks because those of us who make mods do this for free & mods are optional. Thankfully, Nexus has gotten better with their block & safety tools over the years.

I think it is good that you are taking the time to read things through & doing so much research, I do the same thing & even though it can be time consuming to take notes & keep track of stuff, it does go a long way to making things easier when you are actually playing the games. The more informed you are about the mods you are using, the less likely you will experience weird hiccups while playing.

Hope you have been having a good weekend & looking through mods is a lot of fun, so it is the good kind of work.

Ah ok, that clears the first part. Also, I'll probably avoid the alternates files (though they are nice), I really like the main ones so far. I already have 15 pages of mods to deal with as it is (or at least that's what the Tracking mod page is saying lol), so I'm gonna trim things when I can hehe.

The patchy skin issue in the game is more noticeable on characters that have darker skintones, like Duncan, Zevran & Kinnon. The mod also works well for paler skintones, especially with the lips.

That makes sense and back then I probably was more focused on questing and combat and just took graphics and textures for granted. Of course, that's not the case now hehe.

I do have Origin's version of Mass Effect Legendary Edition, but it's on another SSD that I haven't logged in for a long while and I don't think I did any mods for that. I may have to check it out, though it'll have to wait as I need a break after setting up mods for DAO hehe. And I don't even want to imagine how difficult the original ME trilogy was to mod haha.

I do like reading, especially when the explanation is broken down nicely w/o leaving any holes or guesswork for the mod users. So, the least I could do is take the time to carefully go over it when the mod authors took so much care and effort to make the mods in the first place. :)

Hope you have been having a good weekend & looking through mods is a lot of fun, so it is the good kind of work.

I'm 75% of the way done with the downloading parts for DAO mods I think, so I consider that good so far lol. I do enjoy this kind of "work" and I hope I do it well enough to avoid too much troubleshooting. Though that in itself has some benefits as it's knowledge gained. Like you said earlier, we're more informed. :)

Hello, hoping you can help me. Riordan started a scene with hair, but when it came time to speak with him, his whole scalp was missing. This is actually happening to a number of my NPC's can I can't figure out why when I have all of the required mods. The hair for Riordan looks like it is almost a vanilla hair, so it is even more confusing. Could you please advise what hair should be assigned to him so that I can search my overwrite?

The hair I used for Riordan is a vanilla hair so it shouldn't be doing that. Are you sure you don't have any conflicting mods? Cause if you have duplicate more files or not all of the hair files required it can cause problems with the hair. With the hair files, you need to make sure you have all of the files required. Some hairs have multiple files in a download & you need all of them for the hair to show up cause they include the hair mesh & other things.. I would double check to make sure you have all the modded hair files. There is also a chance that the modder who made the hair file changed the hair file name, cause sometimes Risibisi will update their hairs periodically. If that is the case you can use either gyf editor or DAO Toolset to see if the hair files are the same name.

The gyf editor will let you open up the mor file to see the names of the tints & hair, if the hair file name doesn't match what Risibisi has listed, you should just be able to change the name to the updated hair file. Also, Riordan sometimes has issues if you are using mods like Grey Wardens of Ferelden, like his hair will go missing in some scenes because of that mod.

What NPCs are you having an issue with?

Vartag was one person, but I am using a mor from another file for him, so no worries for this one. Another person is a maid in the Arl of Redcliffe's estate in Denerim. She is the one cleaning one of the side tables in a hallway leading to the sleep area's. Not sure if that is this mod or Thedas Redone. Will have to check on that one. There were a couple others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head right now as most of the game was played about a month ago and I only just restarted playing it :).

And thank you for the comment about GWoF. I do use that mod and that would explain why Riordan had hair and then didn't. In fact, I just got back to the estate after rescuing him and had a talk with him and he kept his hair the whole time. It was so bizare until I read what you wrote.

The NPC in the Arl's Denerim estate isn't an NPC that I made a mor file for, so I am betting it is the other mod. If you can figure out which NPC's are having the issue from my mod, I can troubleshoot the issue for you. But if you are using a mod like Thedas Redone, you want to double check & see if there are no conflicting mor files, cause that can't sometimes cause trouble. And yeah Grey Wardens of Ferelden has had that issue forever, it is because of the Grey Warden hood. If you don't have the hood conflicting with another mod, he will appear with the hood in that scene but if you have another mod that conflicts with the Grey Warden hood than it will show up either bald or no scalp.

Do you have the following files for Bella's hair in your mod folder?

      pn_har_Sky132.mao
      uh_har_Sky132.tga
      hf_har_Sky132_0.mmh
      hf_har_Sky132_0.msh

Usually when people have this problem it is because they are missing pn_har_Sky132.mao & uh_har_Sky132.tga. Please double check your override folder to ensure you have these four files for Bella's hair, let me know if this resolves the issue or if you are still encountering problems.

Sadly the issue remains, I've had all the files downloaded correctly. I do not have any different Bella .mors either so I'm not sure what the problem could be

Sometimes certain hair meshes can cause conflicts, so not sure what it could be cause I checked the mor file & it is pulling the correct hair file name. Do you have the hair listed in your game's chargenmorph file? Sometimes manually adding that in can also cause the game to recognize the hair. I don't play Dragon Age anymore so there isn't any way for me to test it myself. Sometimes moving the files directly into the override folder can help too, cause if you have modded items hidden behind too many folders the game won't recognize it.

Doing so didn't fix anything sadly.. I'm not sure this helps but her eyebrows are also white for some reason, maybe that will help narrow down the issue ? Sorry I didn't point it out earlier

I figured out the issue, the reason her eyebrows look white is because I forgot to list the hair tint requirement for Bella in the read me. And I figured out why the hair isn't showing up, the modder who ported the hair into the game just redid the hair mesh & changed the file name of the hair. Since my head morph is older it was using the older version of the hair mesh which is now out of date with the update done to the hair. I have updated the head morph so it will pull the correct hair file, try redownloading the mor file now & it should work out alright & if you download the hair tints her hair & eyebrows should display correctly. The read me file in the download has been updated with the mor file & I added a note to the sticky.

Hope this resolves the issue :-D let me know how it goes.
