    I never realized that this mod disabled the mark active button for quest objectives (and quest markers), is there a way to fix this?

      This modification does not disable the mark active button for quest objectives nor it disables the quest markers.

    GOG says "Update (13 November 2024)
    Enabled Large Address Aware (LAA) support to enhance memory utilization" for gog version. So do I still need this mod?

      I would like to know this as well. I have tried with or without, but the game never uses more than 1.8GB of RAM.

      Let me 3rd this request. Gog says they enabled it.. (I'm assuming they meant patched?).
      The game crashes everytime I first open it, but seems to work fine after reopening it. 
      I just started modding it so if it starts crashing constantly, I guess I'll have my answer. 
      I was excited to see Worment ask this, but no joy yet. Anyone know if the latest gog version is actually patched with Large Address Aware (4GB LAA patch)? 
      Also, I saw something about limiting the memory on their site, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of the patch?

    This just causes the game not to start at all.
    So... either the instructions are not precise or this doesn't work with the Steam version.

    Read through this, followed the hints in the comments - nope. Hours wasted on this.

    So I have a favor and maybe you can better direct me I have my game with the patch installed and it plays fine but I am unable to open steam overlay within game and I cannot take screenshots at all and I cannot figure out why I checked both in game settings and steam settings and both are the same function for F10 and I have tried remapping it and still nothing happens I go and take a look in my screenshots folder there is nothing there. I have a hunch it's something to do with the LAA patch but I am unsure if you could assist me I would be greatly appreciated.

    SO your mod is giving me the option of using my Mod Manager Vortex to download this. Is that cool or should I manually download and f*#@ around with this>

      Manually download this I cannot stress this enough do not use Vortex to install anything with Dragon Age Origins

    I just use the vortex mod installer to install this and it works, idk if is modded or am i just lucky to not experiences crushes in game....

    Can not thank you enough for this Mod!, Spent quite a while looking for a fix to launch the game, and came across this combined with LAA Patch now my game launches!

    I have now used everything for the Steam version. But now the game is in a different language version. I can't see any DLCs anymore either. I would like to continue playing my Witch Hunt save game.

    I am really sad I cannot play this game without it crashing a million times, I was hoping there were better instructions on how to download this patch properly. The video is just you clicking things around and I can hardly see the writing , I full screen it and it gets blury. I have no idea what I am doing, never downloaded a mod before , but want to play my game so bad without it crashing. Please if anyone can help give me written instructions on how to install this patch properly. Would be massively appreciated

      Download this mod and unzip it, now you have a file - daorigins.exe

      Locate your original file and replace it with the downloaded one. Then patch it.

      The patch is here, download it - https://ntcore.com/4gb-patch/

      Run the patch and select your game (daorigins.exe). It will tell you if it's installed succesfully.
