I'm really new to modding Origins, forgive me if I sound silly, but I can't seem to get them to show up in chargen no matter what I do. I've used the compiler, I've tried having the chargen file with the other one, I genuinely can't figure it out :')

      Not at all!
Unfortunately, it's been a hot minute since I did any chargen modding for this game, so I'm not in the best position to remember how to troubleshoot such things. Sorry about that. Maybe the Origins forum could help?

It's a bit of a running joke in my friend group that I'm the one person who always draws Dragon Age's elves with the goat eyes shown in Knight Errant, so I was soooo excited to see a mod incorporating them into DAO has been released! lovely work :D

Fantastic! I know DA2 elves and some of the weirder design choices in particular get a lot of flack, but I truly adore them being markedly different from other races. Also why wouldn't you want elves to have goat eyes? Looks rad as hell.

According to DA Wiki Discord this was an artistic choice, which has no foundation in lore whatsoever. I agree, it looks kinda cool - but it is at the moment at best "unclear" if this is canon. According to one on Discord, he or she claims to have seen on Twitter that Bioware have confirmed it is artistic license only. I dunno. I like it (actually, I REALLY like it), but it's unlikely I'll use it unless it is confirmed as canon. Note that none of the other games (including the now discontinued Heroes of DA) have featured this.

Thanks! I do prefer the weirder DA2 elves, I might see about adding it as an option to DA2 as well when I have more free time.

Where have you seen this? In the comics? I must admit I have failed to notice it, but that doesn't mean it's not there... :-)
    EDIT:
Ah, yes. I found one example in the images you've posted. Which comic is this from?

The character is called Gaius, though I don't read the comics myself.

      Hmm. Nice find. :-)
I see that this guy has handled red lyrium, could that be the actual cause?
(this is not a question I expect an answer for, it is only me thinking "loud" and typing it  :-D )

Yep! I never thought of it before - not as a feature/elven attribute, at any rate. More like it has been said on the DA Wiki Discord, as an artistic choice (tbh I find the DA comics quite "manga-like", so I don't read too much into how people are depicted, really). But this artistic choice started with Vaea, as I understand it, and carried over to the following comics as well.
