Because "best one of the series" is subjective, and a lot of people don't like playing through Origins all the way and don't want to have to before going into the sequel? Or maybe they like Origins just fine but don't enjoy Awakening the same way, and want a quick fix-it so they can move onto DA2 without the game filling in the blanks for them? Not everyone enjoys Origins or Awakening the way you do. If you personally are fine with playing through Origins, great! Then this mod isn't for you. But many other people don't get the same enjoyment from Origins. I'm a fan of Origins, and yet I've played it enough that even I don't want to go through the whole thing all over again just to move forward in the series. If you personally don't have a use for this program, then that's fine! Just move on. But don't act like it's strange for other people to want to use it instead of playing Origins just because you wouldn't want to do so.
Well in my personal experience from literally the hours in this day, I wanted to go back and replay the series and start with DAO but the game constantly crashes on Steam. Ive racked my brain thinking of solutions, trying countless tips from every forum i could find on it and still....nothing worked. The game still crashes on a pc that is amazing for running modern games. I would have loved to go through and experience the first game again but after crashing back to back, searching fixes, crashing more and more again for the last 7 hours, Im done trying. I learned that theres no way to stop the crashes, only minimize them and not by alot. So Gibbd is a goat for this editor.
if you are still interested in solving this issue, i changed my game to 4gb instead of the original 2gb steam allows and that seemed to work great i didnt experience any more crashes after i just followed this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4Dj3H8RsMI&ab_channel=B-TierMutineer
Hey, so I was wondering - the Landsmeet ruler selection, alongside the standard 'Alistair/Anora rules' and 'Alistair/Anora rules with player', there is a 'player rules'. Which isn't an available choice in game, so what does it do? Why was it included?
My HoF is still alive according to Bodahn in DA2 despite using this tool to say she declined Morrigan, did not romance Alistair, and sacrificed herself. I also opted not to include DLC options in case that was causing the issue. Either Alistair is dead or Morrigan got her way and I vehemently wanted neither of those things to happen. I'm also not interested in finding out which one it is after 20 hours of playtime vs 20 minutes like right now. Very much not impressed with this tool.
Do not download this, google version 1.02: it fixes the human-mage recognized as dwarf. Also, check https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage2/mods/4236 and its ARTICLE Tab for more import fixes.
I don't think using this tool to tamper with an existing DAII savegame is a wise move; if memory serves me, this tool allows you to create a save state of the most important choices of DAO and Awakening -it is saved in your DAO savegame location under a "Generated_NameOfYourCharacter" folder; you cannot -CANNOT- play this "character" in DAO or Awakening as it will likely botch your game (maybe -yes, maybe- resulting in a necessart reinstallation).
The "Generated_NamedHero" will be the character you need to import into DAII. (Start up a new DAII game and during character creation you can choose to import.)
There is a possibility that a Human Mage will be recognised as a Dwarf; it is a known bug when using this savegame generator.
Just to make sure: -Zevran killed before introduction means the Warden killed him before listening to Zevran? -Ending the werewolf curse: tick "side with elves" and "Zathrian sacrifices himself"? or tick all boxes? -Siding with Caridin means he commits suicide -Choosing to save the City of Amaranthine even if the Keep withstood the seige, I have to untick the "seige complete" box?
*Spoilers ahead, so move on if you don't wish to know certain aspects of the ending, however the initial question gave them all away anyway, hehe.* Bit belated, but :
1.Yes, zevran killed means he was killed before recruitment, during the initial attempt to assasinate him.
2.If you sided with the elves and did not attack Zathrian yourself, that is the only outcome, so you are, again., correct.
3.Yes: Siding with Caridan causes suicide, no matter what.
4.Not sure about this siege. Haven't played in so long. I'm assuming if it survived, then it withstood. Just a guess based on the general wording of the question.
I am unsure on the werewolf/elves option. You replied to wintersbreath saying they are correct, but they hadn't specified what they assumed to be correct. Could you please clarify as I am having the same issue? I had zathrian sacrifice himself to end the curse, so unsure whether to choose "none + zathrian sacrifices himself" or "zathrian sacrifices himself + side with elves".
Bumping this a couple years later, because it's really unclear what I should select if I didn't side with either and had Zathrian sacrifice himself to lift the curse. Did you ever figure out which one was the correct answer? It seems like "none" and "sacrifice Zathrian," but I'm not sure, and I don't want to guess only to find out I made the wrong call hours into the game.
Hi! This generator is really great and I appreciate its existance! Apologies if this has been asked before.
I've created a save with the Hero of Ferelden's ultimate sacrifice, and then selected an Orlesian warden for Awakening. (I'm aiming for the Ultimate Sacrifice, but also to get Nathaniel's quest) The save has registered that HoF didn't die, i've played through to Bodahn's dialogue in DA2 to check. I've tried a couple times and made sure all the right boxes are ticked, it doesn't seem to be having it. Is there a trick to this?
this is the same issue i'm having. i've tried four combinations and can't get the thing to recognize the HoF died. you're think checking "No ritual" and "Player killed Archdemon" would do it. :(
Loghain has to be killed by the Warden for Alistair and Anora to rule together, but it's not an option in the save generator. Hopefully "none" accounts for it and doesn't mess up Alistair.
That's actually not true, there is a hidden mechanic for Alistair and Leliana called 'Hardening' where you can take certain dialogue options when talking to them during or after their companion quests that change how they act. If Alistair is hardened before the landsmeet he will still agree to marry Anora even if Loghain still lives. He also is portrayed to be a lot more comfortable with becoming king before the landsmeet.

I used this to make a human magi warden (meaning Amell) and none of the characters that normally mention her being related to Hawke have when they are supposed to (namely Cullen in Act 2)
Edit: I was able to fix this using Alehazar 's solution further down (was listing me as dwarven not human)
Is there a way to edit one of my actual origins saves (that is a human female mage warden) that's incomplete so I can add all the other choices to it and use that instead? really not wanting to replay origins again (ugh the Fade)
There is a skip the Fade mod for DAO on Nexus. I hate the Fade as well. It's really useful for replaying the game if you wanted to finish that save so you can import it (I am not entirely sure if the mod works with a partially completed save, but you can always check).
Hi thank you for the advice, Where did you find gff4editor please ? I tryed to use the same great Alehazar 's trick but https://www.2shared.com/file/OISJRPRA/gff4editor-10.html is no longer valid
