Hi. I was hoping there will be an option to get rivalry for Bethany, the same way you have certain cakes to get friendship for Carver. But I completely understand if there won't be any updates to this. Thank you for your hard work! This mod is a quality of life gem.
Sorry I missed this! I'll see about adding some rivalry cakes (haha) for Bethany at some point, hopefully before *too* long, but I can't guarantee when that will be. And since this is already a month late you've probably moved on. But hopefully by the time you're next playing I'll have something for you!
Playing as Male (warrior) Hawke, I've tried both dialogue and no dialogue versions, but the cake does nothing when I give one to Isabela sadly, maybe I did something wrong? (I'm trying this in act 1, recruited her only a few quests ago so she's only barely leaning to positive atm) It works fine for others I've tested like Varric however. I spoke too soon, right after her approval dropped in a quest I did, I tried a cake again and now it works perfectly! Now my overly serious goody two shoes Hawke can keep her around without stressing over my choices lol.
Wonderful idea for a mod btw, thank you very much for making it!
I'm not actively modding right now, but when I get back to it as I inevitably will, I'll see about doing something like that! (I can't guarantee any timeframe on this, though.)
Edit: ... my brain wasn't working, it's been too long since I've touched this mod. This mod WILL actually add Rivalry points as-is. The cakes are designed to add either Friendship or Rivalry, depending on what track you're on.
Thank you so much. I can now take Carver everywhere without having to worry about his approval and don't have to sell out mages, which is really great. Just a careful selection of quests to do first and raising his approval fast so I can take him everywhere in Act I. I really love Carver and want him as a friend and have him everywhere while I can. This mod is just ideal.
Haha I see where this is coming from. Not sure if you got this idea from Dragon Age: Origins DLC - Feastday Gifts and Pranks. Because there is literally a cake in that one to give to your companions for more affections. But if you did not get the idea or knew about this from DAO. Then that is a very high level of idea thinking. And I love it so much. The creativity you had for coming up with it is very nice indeed. But if you did make this based of that DLC from DAO then that is still equally nice and lovable to see.
For that DLC gives you many items that gives + and - affection. And so, Sugar Cake gives (+5) and Thoughtful Gift gives (+10). While you had a Rotten Onion that gave (-10) and Lump of Charcoal that gives (-5). And so many others as well that was character specific to Alistair, Leliana and Morrigan etc.
But I just started DA2 so just browsing through mods and plan to add a couple mods for my very first playthrough as I finished up DAO and DAOAw today. So planning out a couple mods to use, and I have to say I will so use this one for the love of it.
But if you are curious here is a link to the wiki that explains all about those gifts from the DLC. https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Feastday_Gifts_and_Pranks
