made the mistake of taking all the books, attempted this mod didnt work, also attempted the command mode and using "runscript zz_lgt_debug" as suggested below but didnt work, I guess that's iti am out of luck, someone tell me it isnt a big deal...
------ Edit nvm that debug code doesnt work if you copy paste - you have to type it out not ctrl v if your a dummy like me - ---------- Thanks all.
That's actually a good question I don't totally remember, sorry! I want to say I was testing with the quest active, but before I had actually picked up any of the tomes. For best practice, it should probably be used prior to collecting them, but if you've already started and it doesn't work, let me know and I'll see about making you a fix.
Check out Beigiorno's reply at the top of the posts. They found a working fix for those (like me) who downloaded and installed this after picking up the first/second/etc tomes and reading them.
Hey if anyone got this mod (thank you by the way, really nice to make this fix) in the middle of the quest and it doesn't work, try using the console to access the debug menu and progress the quest. I used this site: [https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Console_(Dragon_Age_II)#Quest.2Fcompanion_fixes.2Fworkarounds] and I enabled the developer console through steam, and went into KeyBindings.ini and changed the console keybind to "Button_Z". The text for the console is invisible but you'll have to type "runscript zz_lgt_debug" with no quotations and completely blind, but once you do hit enter and the debug menu should come up like a dialog scene. Then navigate the debug dialogue to get to Forbidden Knowledge and I picked the final book option, and it teleported me to Darktown and updated the quest details. Hope this helps someone!
I read on the wiki that there was an official fix made in a patch, but all they fixed it for was the Fell Grimoire at the end of the quest, where if you destroyed all the other books, reading or taking it would have the quest still treat it as being destroyed.
The DA wiki classifies it as a bug, as you're unable to complete the quest and clear it from your journal in any way if you have read any of the books. Your consideration of what constitutes a bug may vary! Regardless, I wanted to give people the option to complete the quest. :)
a much needed fix to an otherwise frustrating quest, thank you so much!! BTW why did you hide your bard specialization mod, its wonderful and people should see it. Are you by any chance updating it atm?

And yes, I want to rework the scripts -- I got a lot better at scripting over the past few months, and there are some tweaks I need to do to them. :)

And that's actually Sera's face ported over from DAI, haha, with a DAI texture mod. Still working out some kinks before it's releasable!
