Compatibility The new version is not compatible with any mods that edit ItemPartAppearance files, as such I will be making compatible ones for those who want to use mesh swap mods in other slots such as Prologue as Skyhold outfit and such.
I did but wasn't sure anyone would want to hear it.
Dwarves aren't supposed to dream, yet Inquisitor Cadash can due to receiving the mark, so I thought if that was possible when it wasn't before then surely the same could be said of magic. Whether both the magic and dreams would go once the mark is removed is another thing entirely. Maybe it would or maybe by then it would be so ingrained in them that they wouldn't lose it.
I have a Grey Warden Dwarf and I have a whole backstory for her too. her father was a GW Mage and he fell in love with her mother in The Deep Roads (and they had her). She was then taken back to Weisshaupt Fortress and raised. She was taught the ways of the rogue, but her magical abilities started to show through. She was safe at Weisshaupt Fortress from the Templars and the Grey Wardens trained her like any Mage. When the breach happened, her magic abilties came rushing to the fore front and grew stronger. Tomas is part of a group of rogue Grey Wardens. She is a Rift Mage and she is simply awesome.
I'm glad you put some thought behind this, Padme4000, instead of saying "eh, I wanted to play a mage but I only like dwarves" or something like that shows a disregard for the lore. Kudos (now if only I knew how to give officially kudos....)
Thank you. For these kind of mods I always work out how it would be possible within the lore. So since Cadash can dream with the mark I thought well what would stop it from making magic possible. Since dreaming for dwarves was unheard of before the mark.

Read the above pinned comments and you know that I know the mod is not lore friendly. It is based on a head canon. Since you know technically dwarves dreaming wasn't lore friendly before Inquisition. Just saying
Its stated in the Description that this is born from a Headcanon. And a pretty convincing if you ask me. It is an interesting point i think. Who knows what sideeffects the Mark could bring. I mean maybe Dwarfes are the most powerful magical potent race there is, but cant use magic at all because they have no connection to the fade. The Inquisitor has now with the mark like a direct connection. That opens some ways for cool speculation. Like when the Veil would be torn down entirely, everyone would have a connection to the fade. Even dwarfes because then you wouldnt need to dream to have that connection. Maybe then the Dwarfes would be the next Tevinter because they always had nearly allmighty mages but didnt know because of the lack of the connection to the fade.
i realize that it is lore friendly, cause its be more like a rumour that all think dwarfs cannot be mages, and they have a high resistance about magic, but its not impossible, cause without completly they couldnt smithing with magic runes also. you have to hear about every word what the dwarven says, you find the notes, that it could be possible, but cause all think they cannot, no one realize it or accept it.
i wouldnt play a dwarf as a simple mage. more like earth magic, arkane fighter, and very rare with little grouphealing. i played so in dragonage origins, and its sad that the origin for the next games dont accept it that it could be possible. it makes all better sense for me.
The mod doesn't appear to work for me. I've gone through the troubleshooting post and tried what I could to get it to work but it doesn't appear to be working at all. There are no error messages and the game still appears to run fine but the mod just doesn't seem to load.
Any ideas on what the problem could be and how to fix it?
You're not getting mage skill tree or mage reactions from companions like in video?
Edit: also New Playthrough is advised if you want them referenced as mages. When you get to Class choice when making New Game pick the Mage icon. One you've picked all your options where it shows the 4 Tarot Cards the mage icon will be blacked out. Do not worry it is working just the texture doesn't here. Though sometimes they get referred to as dwarves above mages.
I'm not sure why its not working on your end, it was working fine when I tested both on my PC and laptop. Been trying to recreate the issue but haven't been able to. I really have no idea why it isn't working for you.
Same for me. Won't show up on CC, I get 4 cards = dual weild, archer, warrior and sword and shield, but not mage... tried everything even the older versions of the mod..... any help is much appreciated. thanks
UPDATE: Fresh install made it work for some reason, weird because it was just installed anyway, but glad it worked, thanks for the mod.
Is anybody else having an issue where trying to import the mod into Frosty Mod Manager just makes the FMM close down? Any suggestions for how to get around that?
Thank you for this mod! This is very well done, even the conversations where the dwarf is referenced as a mage feel immersive. Does this mod work on all DLCs?
Thank you glad you like the mod, I've only got as far as Jaws of Hakkon myself and it seems to be working still which is a good sign it should be compatible with the other dlc too.
Odd it's working for me. Will look into it again but it could be latest Mod Manager but I will confirm if it is or not, as latest mod manager/editor broke some mods sadly. Hoping to update the mod soon though so that mod shouldn't be needed then.
There is a mod on here that allows anyone to light Veilfire (including Dwarves), you might want to check that out and see what can be done with it? I play a Mage Dwarf oddly enough and had a work around for them to use the Mage tree etc, and that's how I discovered the mod.
Mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/905 (ExploreAbilities). This lets anyone bash walls, light Veilfire and pick locks.

The option for mage was just not there.
Just stuck with the standard rogue and warrior origins.
And it doesn't work even when only mod turned on? Just asking so I can try replicate your issue
Update: IT WORKED! No idea what was causing the issues before and why previous attempts didn't fix it but it's gone now.
any help is much appreciated.
thanks
