Hi its me again, I was wondering what are the things I need to do to change my class from rogue to mage? What items do I need to spawn etc, any help is appreciated thank you!
Okay so when you change your class in DAVE, your skills will automatically transfer into the rogue’s version of all the nodes on the skill tree. Your old class related inventory will “disappear” until you change back to the old class. To get the new weapons, you either can buy what’s available in the shops since they’ll appear there and you can manually add any weapon in the inventories tab. You would hit the add item button and there just search the weapon you want. No need to attach it to anyone or anything like that. There will be 2 different items that pop up when you’re searching. One is the actual weapon and the other is its appearance version. I would just add both to your inventory. If more than 2 appear, that just means there’s another version of that weapon for a different class. I’d just add all of those too and that’s it!
Alright i might be dumb but... if anyones having trouble with the saving problem "temporary directory whatever" just go to your settings an "unlink" your onedrive account... but the thing is the saves the game makes still go to the one drive folder now located in the documents in your Cdrive user folder. I've been racking my brain for like 40mins
This is an amazing mod! I may be a little stupid but how does romance work? Like the polyamory part, if I wanted to romanceboth Davrin and Bellara what things would I need to check off and change?
Thank you!!! And no you’re not stupid at all! After you commit to one of them, you would simply go to the other companion in the companions tab and uncheck “cut off?” and then select “can flirt”. If you’re turning one of their romances on after you missed their commitment scene(like you friend zoned them already), you would change them to “exclusive” instead of “can flirt”.
I would love to use this app, however my antivirus/security is having hippos about it. Even tho' I paused the security, it still stops it and deletes the file. Is there any other way around it? I'm assuming that no-one else has issues with suspicious activity or accessing of files?
Not since launch when we didn’t have the updater to help with most of the antivirus headaches. What’s your antivirus and what are the exact settings you have set for it when you try to download?

Okay try turning off the first 3 options when you're downloading and installing DAVE. Once you open up the application and it pops up fine on your computer, you can turn those settings back on.
I just want to say Thank you for making this tool. It's very useful and not difficult to use. And new update looks very promising, I would like to try new abilities you added. Thank you!
This is its own program. You download it and through it, you load up your saves and edit them directly in there. It works just fine with the mod manager in terms of editing your stuff in your saves and then launching the game via the mod manager with whatever mods you have active on there.
Hello! This mod sounds incredible, thank you so much for making it! I'm just wondering, would the ability to change my spawn point let me spawn in behind a locked door? I got locked out of The Lab Below quest bc of a bug and can't get past the first door, if this mod let me spawn in behind it I might possibly be able to complete it after all and wouldn't have to abandon my playthrough :')
Oh i hate locked doors bugs. I had some of those too. If there’s a spawn point behind the door, then yes. It’s just a matter of finding out the name spawn point. The names the put for each spawn point isn’t exactly the best. I can try looking myself too but that would be after i get back home from work. Only other thing would be for you to wait for the next update. In our next update, we’re going to add the ability to open all the doors that can be opened but are locked by like progression and stuff.
I did manage to spawn behind the door but unfortunately it looks like I actually have to trigger the memory to progress. Even if I spawn all the way to the end the wolf statuette isn't there because I haven't gone through the whole memory cutscene I guess. And since I have a bug that doesn't trigger the start of the memory it looks like I'm out of luck :(
Oh that’s really unfortunate. Try and send me your save file in a DM. I might be able to dig into your file and tinker with the quest state in your file to give you the chance to trigger the memory again. I do know with the memory stuff a lot of people have been getting bugs like this but maybe I can trick the game for you.
Every time I try to load in a save file, I get this error: ValueError('No RegisteredPersistence with load pass 0'). I'm not quire sure what this means or how to fix it and I was hoping you could help!
I also get another warning that says it was unable to delete a temporary pathway. Let me try installing it again and see what that specific error says exactly
I used this to update my Inquisitor's look (never satisfied with it, so I keep adjusting it hoping to find The Look(TM) eventually) and now that I've reached the Cobbled Swan to see them in action for the first time, their hair color is lighter than I made it in a spare save? I can't tell if it's because of the lighting, but as it's supposed to be dark brown and it looks light brown, I have my doubts. Is there a way to understand what color values affect what in the appearance code?
Besides that, this is a very helpful tool, thank you so much for putting the work into making it. <3
(edit: I could very well be wrong and it's the lighting, but it might be awhile before I see them again under different lighting lol)
Oh that is 100% the lighting. I remember trying so hard to have a SLIGHTLY tinted white hair look. At some point my dang hair was borderline rose pink in certain places when it most definitely didn’t look like that in the character creator. Just like when your silver hair kinda turns into a really dark grey in certain lighting. I hate it.
But I mean if you really want to see what things change in the code, export one save into a json file with the OG hair color. After that, open that very same save file in the game and just change only Rook’s hair color. Then overwrite the save or make a new one and load this new hair color Rook into DAVE and export that save into a json file too. Then you’d download win merge(it’s free) and what this program will essentially do is open both your files and show you what’s different between the 2. That’s how i decipher a lot of things I need to understand for new features for DAVE. Though it still would be easiest for you to continue tweaking in the mirror instead of going through the aGONY of looking at all the different strings in your save file.
