Just so others can note -- you don't have to have an ultrawide monitor to use this mod and it does a LOT more than just ultrawide.
(For example: I use it because it enables the console and allows loose file loading -- which is a huge plus for modders)
If you're ever really unsure...sometimes the best thing to do is to just download it. Usually you can find the answer out yourself a lot faster than asking and having to wait for a response.
You can span certain parts of the UI to fill the screen by setting "Span = true" in the "[Fix HUD]" section of "DQ3Fix.ini". That may accomplish what you're looking for.

A couple of things I've noticed so far with ultra wide: The Fight/Tactics/Flee window at the start of battle seems to be in its default position when set to "span"--it looks a bit weird when all of the other windows are aligned to the left. The other is the splash image that is shown at the start of a battle in the Monster Arena featuring both teams is off. Not really a big deal but I thought I'd mention it because otherwise everything else works great so far.
I've got a fix for the battle tactics window being offset coming in the next version.
As for the splash image, I've barely had time to play the game as you might imagine so I'm still very early on. If you're able to, can you share a save file that has access to that section? You can get your saves from "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake\Steam\<user-id>". If not, then I'll see if I can address that issue when I reach that section of the game.
Here's a save right at the Monster Arena if that helps. Also, I called it a "splash image" but it's a bit more than that because it does use animated sprites. I wasn't really sure what to call it exactly.
Thanks for that. I've just put out a new version (0.0.4) that should fix this. It should also fix the battle tactics being offset when you use the "Span" HUD option.
Apparently that's happening a lot now with any .asi mods. Windows Defender flags it under 'Wacatac' but it's frequently a false positive.
I have (briefly) reviewed the source code on GitHub- everything matches exactly what it claims to do (and nothing else) -- I feel confident that it is safe to use.
Yeah Windows Defender has been flagging a ton of stuff as a false positive. Typically labelled as "Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml" as mike9k1 said. There's a VirusTotal report for the latest version that is automatically generated by NexusMods that has 0 detections if that brings you any peace of mind. To stop Windows Defender deleting it, you'll need to allow it as an exception or wait things out and see if the false positive label is removed in a definition update.
Does this MOD not start the game at the specified resolution, but rather at the resolution that matches the wide monitor? I don't have a wide monitor, but I want to play with a long horizontal setting with black bars up and down.
No it doesn't alter the game resolution. For your use case, you could try enabling the console in "DQ3Fix.ini" and then enter "r.SetRes 2560x720w" (substituted with your desired resolution) for example, to run the game at an ultrawide resolution.
What does fps cap fix mean? Does that mean the game speed is no longer tied to the framerate cause thats what I'm actually looking for as there are sometimes areas that for some reason get my frames down to 30 for no apperent reason slowing the game down immensely.
Edit* I guess it is when I tested. Perfect that is all I wished for.

I want to know how to level up my characters with console commands

UI表示は16:9と同じ位置ですが気になりません。
