Thanks for the mod! Howver, I'm currently using this on my run and I noticed that equipment that get Reworked (+1, +2, +3) become incompatible with the Heroine. Nothing too game changing, but it does mean that the Hero gets slightly nerfed with some unupgraded equipment as you progress with the game.

Thanks for this wonderful mod, i always hated when im forced to play as mute males and i always prefer to play as females. Tho i couldnt make spellcaster hero mod working with female appearances. Whenever i had both installed i only got some male outfits and everything else was gone. So id like to ask you how you managed to got both work hand in hand. Thanks for your time and this awesome mod!

I can't say how it might work with female appearance mods such as Definitive Heroine Mod or Pinkish Princess, I haven't used them, but using NPC Appearance Swap my current load order for feminization mods with Spellcaster Hero is:

      - Spellcaster Hero
      - Female Luminary Equipment for Spellcaster Hero
      - Heroine of Light
      - Heroine of Light UI
      - NPC Appearance Swap

Be aware that DQXI loads its pak files based on alphabetical order, so you can alter the load order by changing the names of the files. Regarding the 5 above, I currently have the files named as:

      - Project_Rebuild_ZZ_Hero_SpellCaster-0.0.8.pak
      - z_Female_Luminary_Equipment_Hero_SpellCaster.pak
      - zpakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor_P_HeroineOfLight_v0.0.4
      - zpakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor_P_HeroineOfLightUI_v0.0.1.pak
      - zpakchunk1-WindowsNoEditor_P_NPCAppearanceSwap_0.0.4-dev.pak

The only issue I have encountered using this load order is that some of the skills for the hero's skill tree from Spellcaster Hero have their text overwritten by text from Heroine of Light, but they have all seemed to actually function just fine for me.

Regarding NPC Appearance Swap, if you want your character to look like, say Jade, her outfits are found at the end of the outfit list, but I believe many of those appearances only become available after she's actually reached in the game. NPCs should be available persistently, though keep in mind that due to some limitations the game places on using outfits, there are sections of the game where a male appearance is forced.

If NPC Appearance Swap is only providing you with a small selection of outfits period, make sure you're using version 0.0.4 of that mod and not version 0.0.2.

youre the best! thank you so super much for replying in so much detail. I will give it a try right away and hopefully i get it to work. Ive been waiting a good while to try the spellcaster hero mod now, and together with your mod and female appearance it can finally be done. I will always be grateful for your help. Thank you so very much

alrighty, i got it mostly working. I also played and tested a bit already and here are things i can tell currently: Some outfits (mainly the normal hero outfits) have glitched textures and make the face almost black for example. Jade and everyone else seems to work well tho (unless you add more character texture mods, for example the edit jade face mod. Then it will also glitch) and i cant equip female equipment. But i tried my best to follow the instructions perfectly close and also removed all mods i used before.

But since the spellcaster mod works together with female outfits its a huge step forward regardless

Are you using the two Project Rebuild mods required by Spellcaster Hero?

Any hero texture mods you use will additionally have to be specifically compatible with Project Rebuild.

oh yea i just realized i forgot the requirements of spellcaster. I wanted to make a clean modlist to make sure everything works and then forgot to actually keep the requirements haha. Now texture mods etc work again, thanks a million times once again! All thats left to figure is why your mod isnt working yet. Everything else now does work x) tho i also had the same issue with the other non spellcaster hero version. It also didnt want to work for me

Make sure you have not renamed either this mod or Spellcaster Hero such that this mod is not after Spellcaster Hero alphabetically.

The standard Female Luminary Equipment mod will break Spellcaster Hero if loaded after it, and will not function if loaded before it.

What item specifically are you using to test if it's working?

Are you using any other mods that may be making changes to equipment?

my paks are named after those (ill just name everything i have, so dont be surprised its a few more)
pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor.pak (should be already from the base game)

      pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor_P_FasterLuminary_0.0.2.pak (walking faster mod)

      pakchunk1-WindowsNoEditor.pak (also base game)

      Project_Rebuild_Player_Character_Models_v0.1.10.pak (spellcaster requirement)

      Project_Rebuild_Q_NPC_Models_v0.0.10.pak (spellcaster requirement)

      Project_Rebuild_ZZ_Hero_SpellCaster-0.0.8.pak

      Project_Rebuild_ZZ_TamedColors_BlondeHair_Jade_0.0.1.pak (blonde jade mod)

      Remove_Outlines_v0.0.1_Patchv2.pak

      UltimateEquipment_0.2.9.pak (more equipment mod)

      z_Female_Luminary_Equipment_Hero_SpellCaster.pak (your mod)

      zpakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor_P_HeroineOfLight_v0.0.4.pak

      zpakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor_P_HeroineOfLightUI_v0.0.1.pak

      zpakchunk1-WindowsNoEditor_P_NPCAppearanceSwap_0.0.4-dev.pak

      zz_Jade_FaceMod.pak

those are all paks i currently have installed

edit: Im trying it with the leather dress you can buy in Hotto in chapter 1.
also now that i have acess to wands i realized i mustve messed up somewhere. I cant even equip those, instead i have the beginner greatsword called Sage wand and i learn more spells. But in the skill panel it actually does say "Heavy wands" and then the usual swordmastery etc. I have honestly no clue where i messed up. But i removed Ultimate equipment because it made me crash when i open the skill panel

At a glance, I see three potential issues with your mod list:

      - Remove_Outlines_v0.0.1_Patchv2.pak shouldn't be needed. This is a compatibility patch for Project Rebuild - Equipment (Project_Rebuild_Weapons-0.0.5.pak) and Remove Outlines (Remove_Outlines_v0.0.1.pak); you aren't using either of these mods so it shouldn't be necessary. It's most likely listed as a soft requirement for Spellcaster Hero because it solves issues those mods cause without the patch.

      - Ultimate Equipment will be incompatible with Spellcaster Hero, and is the most likely cause of the issue you're having with my mod because all three make edits to DT_ItemTable. I've confirmed the Leather Dress is equipped properly in my game.

      - You most likely want to use Skip_Tickington_0.0.2.pak from Skip Pointless BS. The Tickington portion of the game functions very differently and pretty much no mods will work with it, so if you're modding your game skipping it is nearly mandatory to prevent things from breaking.

If you're going to be trying to run more than one or two mods, I recommend becoming familiar with mike9k1's Mod Troubleshooting Tools. This can inform you of file conflicts in your mod list, and in most cases this signifies incompatibilities of some extent - not that this necessarily means two mods can't be used together, depending on the nature of the conflict.

im currently trying out to make everything work by adding mod after mod in the order that Spellcaster is first. I have to admit i have no clue how to even get all the wands and rods shown in the screenshots of spellcaster. So i cant really tell when things are working and when its wrong. However after just having spellcaster, its requirements and your mod only i still cant equip the leather dress. So im thinking if i have to create a new safe file in order to be recognized as a girl or if it should work right away. In any case something seems to be wrong with the game itself. Im also sorry to bother you with so many things...but i hope you know how much i appreciate that you keep replying to me. Without your help id be so busted

In regards to my mod, a new game shouldn't be required. As the player was never intended to be anything other than male, there aren't any gender checks in regards to equipment. Rather, items have a field that determines whether they can be equipped by a given character, and "female-only" equipment simply has this set for female party members. My mod alters the data on respective items to set them valid for the player character.

I cannot speak for any other mods, however. I can certainly say I would not attempt to install Spellcaster Hero on an in-progress game given the complexity of the mod.
