To the one person who downloaded the first "Cool HD Bastard Sword Design" file that was on here, I accidentally uploaded a Dragons Dogma Sword recolor of mine, the correct file is now up if you want to grab it. I posted this in the changelogs, but I figured I'd leave this here just incase you came back confused. My apologies.
Hi, I'm just getting into this game after years of saying I would try it out.. your work comes highly recommended all over the internet so I decided to give it a look but I'm a bit confused on what should I go with sorry if this isn't the right place to post.
My concern is I want the game to still feel as Vanilla as possible (no gameplay alterations like different weapons or skills, overpowered or godmode stuff) but I WANT the game to feel and look a bit better, I see you have a bunch of texture packs and I'm wondering if I need to download each and every one of them or how would I go about it.
In addition, for example this one has different files, do I need to download all files, would that be redundant, I'm just very confused about how to make my game look as nice as possible while staying true to the original.
Thanks sorry if I'm reviving super old stuff that shouldn't be alive but I'm just a bit confused!
That was a bit of a misconception, I've been working on remastering the game in terms of visuals, but I also started working on a big enemy project that keeps snowballing bigger and bigger, but some people thought it was part of the remaster. That being said, I am working on it, and I recently put out a small teaser for it!
Please, do consider distributing the files in a more convenient way in the future, this has been one of the most unnecessarily cumbersome and tedious installations I've ever done.
The process is not complicated, but I don't get why the files are not distributed as (i.e.) "nativePC/rom/eq/a_acc/your_files_go_here.arc" and instead they are provided as simply "mycoolmod/myfiles.arc - (instructions: unzip them in nativePC/rom/a_acc)".
It would take you just one extra minute to compress the files propperly, and it would realy boost the quality of your mod, the overall end-user experience and, in general, just a nice QOL thing to do for the users that download a lot of your mods and want to install them as trouble-free and as fast as possible.
Sorry for the late reply. I probably actually should organize this a bit better, it's a really old mod that I didn't really think anyone was using much of anymore. I uploaded most of this before I know how to properly set up file paths for things. That being said, I only really recommend the HD Hellfire and the HD inventory icons, the rest are upscales and aren't really super great. But, I'll see if I can find some time to properly organize what's here.
How would I merge 'Easy Clothing ID with HD Icons' into the game if I already installed 'Vingette Remover'(which has it's own automated .bat file, so now I have no idea how to manually merge arc files)
edit: figured it out, arctool.exe and pc-dd.bat have to be in the same folder as game-main.arc, then unpack, paste the mod file, repack
The file names of Easy Clothing with HD icons is wrong. The file name on the game_main is "combinedItemIcon_ID.241F5DEB" and the folder is also wrong. It ends on common/item. I couldn't get it to work until I made these changes myself on the games. Besides that, excelent work!!
That means you're using an old version of ArcTool, if you grab the latest off of his steam page, things will show up as .tex. Also, the folders aren't a file path, they're choices for you to paste in the game_main\dl1\id\common\item like you did. There's 2 different versions of the Easy ID mod and I made both of them for people to choose from.
Hey man, I just wanted to say you did an amazing job with this mod! Thank you for your time and effort on making this game just that extra bit sweeter to look at while playing haha ?.
Quick question though, do you have a roadmap or an estimated timeframe for when you think you'll have the final version of this mod?
Not quite, but things are starting to look up a bit as of recently. I got away from AI upscales because I realized they aren't nearly as high quality as I initially thought, so I'm learning to hand make things.
It's been *painfully* slow going, but in the last several weeks I've actually had a few people to help me, and some people have joined my patreon, so I'm hoping if I get enough money there, I can turn around and invest it back into the game by commissioning other artists to help me and also take more classes/hire a tutor so I can get better at art and make the best possible textures for the game.
Not fluent in English :( --- So, LDK's Armory contains - 4k Adventurer's Cloak (Female) - 4k Adventurer's Cloak (Male) - 4k Paladin's Mantle (Female) (Uncleaned) - 6k Chainmail (Female) - 6k Chainmail (Male) of Remastering Dragon's Dogma Sneak Peek, yes? --- What is the "Easy Clothing ID with HD Icons"? Icons with numbers? --- Cleaner Female Body Texture contains "HD Inventory Item Icons", yes?
It contains those pieces of equipment, but not their 4k AI upscales. It contains the vanilla textures, but with improved normal maps, so the original pieces look a bit better.
The Easy Clothing ID was an older mod that put a blue glow around clothing items to more clearly indicate to players that the equipment belonged to a clothing type piece of equipment. I have HD Icons, and I recreated that blue glow on them because a lot of people liked my HD icons, but wanted the blue glow of the Easy Clothing ID mod.
The Cleaner Female Body Texture does contain the HD icons. I had uploaded it on here to get it published, and then included it as a bonus for my body textures, especially since it's my most popular mod, so I figured more people would see it that way.
No problem, I understand. Yes, that is correct. The LDK's Armory Mod has better textures that aren't AI upscaled, they aren't as high resolution as the upscales I have in this mod, but I'd argue they're better since they're handmade and directly from Capcom.
Hey, i find it really awesome all the work you put out for this awesome game! I have a doubt in mind, im seeing all the files saying 4k, but my monitor doesnt support it. My pc is really good so i dont worry about that, but can i play with these mods on 1920x180 ?
Thank you, and yes! The texture resolution is different from monitor resolution, so while you'll be able to see more detail if you play at higher screen resolutions, you'll still be able to notice a difference with the increase in texture resolution. Most of the things on here are upscales or early attempts at hand making textures, but a few are high quality, particularly the 4k Diabolic Shield, and the HD Inventory Item Icons.

So you mean your LDK's Armory contains better ones to look, even if they are not AI upscaled?
Thank you for your great mods!!
I'm eager to play DDDA with your mods...! Last week I'd been too busy T.T...
Have a great day!!
