I have a maybe stupid question but I would like to update my game but I am scared to lose all of my mods, or having to redownload everything. How so I update my game without causing big problems ?
I played Baldur's 3 and Dogma 2 while applying close to 100 mods. Let me tell you about my experience. I know that this method may not be good for some people.
1. Disable automatic Steam game updates only for the game you are modding. Some updates will destroy your free time. Makes you unable to play the game that day. After a major update is made, modders update their mods to run on the latest game version. Please wait for this.
Basically, applying mods and playing games requires being able to tolerate later updates than vanilla users.
If necessary, run the game in Steam offline mode without updating for a while.
If the update has already been completed, a last resort is to downgrade the game version. (You have to learn it by Googling)
2. Track and manage your mods.
2-1. Create a dedicated bookmarks folder for your game in an internet browser such as Chrome and bookmark the mod you have downloaded.
2-2. Always "Track" when downloading mods from Nexusmods. It's important to keep your mod up to date, including updates with new ideas and bug fixes.
NexusMods provides the ability to "Track" specific mods. You can later check whether updates are available at a glance on the Tracked mods page.
2-3. Have a list in Excel so you can keep track of the mods you've downloaded at a glance. Here, leave a brief comment of your own, telling yourself which version has the error, whether the modder said it will be fixed in the next update, or whether it conflicts with other mods.
The three elements 2-1 to 2-3 must always be synchronized with each other.
2-1 allows you to go directly to the page of the mod you applied. 2-2 allows you to track whether the mod you applied has been updated. 2-3 helps with overall management of mods where 2-1 and 2-2 are insufficient.
2-4. Always manage the local drive where you collect mods so that only the mod files you are currently using exist.
2-5. Install mod files 2-4 from the mod manager that supports your game.
Everything I said above should be managed in the same manner, in reverse order, when deleting a mod when you find a better mod, when the mod you tried was trash, or when you no longer need a particular mod.
It's a really complicated and cumbersome process.
The key is this.
The more mods you apply and play the game, the more diverse and fun the experience becomes to suit your tastes.
However, in proportion to this, the game may crash or problems may occur, making it difficult to determine where the problem occurred.
yes. In the end, when applying a mod and playing a game, whether the result is happiness or unhappiness is determined by how well the mod is managed.
if you want 60 fps and u have 60 hz scaling type - off frame generation - LSFG vertical sync - on, max refresh rate capture api - dxgi windowed mode - on in game set to 30 fps and borderless
Thank you for mentioning this. The script appears to do nothing for me at the moment. I remember the water edges being shimmering white and basically broken with SSR on but maybe a game update fixed that.
for the Reshade you suggested to use as a preset, the link offers a .txt file, are we meant to menually set the values based on the txt information or can we actually drag-drop it in DD2s files and have it show up as a preset in Reshade because i'm sure it is mean't to be a .ini file right?
+Combat Tweaks, BalancedCombat, Lock On Combat with Dodge, Skill Preset Switcher, NoReloadPenalty, and NoJobRequirements (for fashion using the Armor Only option)

I hope this was helpful.
