Due to the mod author's refusal to update the mod and respond to inquiries, I successfully managed to update this mod using the files from the latest version of the Definitive Edition in Steam (which is 1.49.3 or 1.49.0 Patch 3). I've tested this mod alongside 10+ other mods I have installed and I can confirm that it now works as intended without issues.
Download the UPDATED version of this mod here - https://www.mediafire.com/file/n2wqpdgf9e52s8z/All_Climates_UPDATED.rar/file
As usual, just open up your Data3.pak using WinRAR, download the updated version of this mod ^ , and then place the "data" folder from the mod to your Data3.pak via WinRAR as well.
Hi, Is there any way to force only one weather type or get rid of sunny completely? I love overcast weather, especially rain & storms. Game is too damn bright, and even with your mod I rarely see the rain/storms.
@Diablerie2014 - Even all the other mods that also change the weather all have the same issue unfortunately. The weather changes mostly only when you sleep or you teleport. It can still change while you're running around in the game, but the chance is really small.
If you want a full detailed explanation on how weather works in the game, read the full mod description of "Dynamic Weather and Extended Time Cycles" mod by Signette - https://www.nexusmods.com/dyinglight/mods/222. Even that mod faces the same exact issue as you said. I've tried that mod as well already so yeah, I would know.
At this point, the issue is with the game itself so there's really nothing anyone can do. Better than nothing I suppose.
I don't know if i'm missing something, but there's no actual changes between this "updated" file and the original - would you be able to explain exactly what you changed to update it?
@voidei - I remade the mod by transferring the values from the original mod files to the Definitive Edition version of the same files. I did this in order to ensure the mod's compatibility for the Definitive Edition, making it guaranteed to work.
i'm confused as to why that needed to be done however, as (like I said) there aren't any differences whatsoever between the two files, even down to line endings. The only actual differences are in trailing whitespace, and after testing both files in game - they both work exactly the same, which is as expected due to them being the exact same file with no differences.
@voidei - Just wanted to be sure that the mod works I guess. I do this sometimes to mods using very old game files from old versions of a game. I knew the contents were exactly the same but I just remade it anyway using my own files from the Definitive Edition.
Anyhow, both mod files are safe and works as intended anyway, which is what's important at the end of the day. Both are safe to use :)
excellent mod tested in the latest update thank you. a little late but you will have the list of the 10 mods that you have tried I have tried some but they do not work with the latest update ..
@jjakosta - Sorry I can't test that for a long while. My computer is currently under repair and I'm still saving up some cash to be able to pay for the repairs and get my laptop back (my entire motherboard + processor needed to be replaced with brand new ones).
Just thought I'd chime in here, thanks for the update I'm just using the EE v116 version and it at least doesn't crash the game, have not seen any different weather so far and I'm just doing a replay of The Following so maybe this mod is not for the countryisde idk.
As a clearer way to install all these data3.paks I just renamed the .pak to .7z or .rar or whatever then double clicked it and opened in the 7z window then dragged the file to the appropriate fold structure then closed the 7z window and then just changed the .7z back to .pak, no zipping or unzipping required. The game comes up and gives the warning about the modded files but that's it runs fine so far.
I like reading comments on old mods like this, cuz so many people cant be bothered to check to see when the last update was. And expect that the modder is still here modding XD
I completely agree, and this is with a lot of other games where people just diss at the author of mods from 5 or more years back, like that author is so gone from that mod scene and couldn't even bother to think if people are talking bad about him lol.
Works like a charm! It is 2022, March and running latest version. When you load a SAVE game, you have die first or sleep for the weather script to kick in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Create a Backup folder under the main game. 2. copy the data3.pak file to the backup folder. 3. Change the data3.pak file to data3.zip file. 4. Just double click on it and contents of the file will be shown. 5. Navigate within that open zip file to scripts...keep that open. 6. Go to the Dynamic Weather unzip folder. <- need winzip ulitity to do it. 7. Nagigate to DWV -> Data3.pak <- You will have to unpack this one too so change the .pak to .zip. 8. Unzip this .pak file -> should have data3 folder 9. Navigate to data -> Scripts -> Weatherdata.scr. 10. Now simply drag and drop that file into the open data3.pak file inside the real game. 11. Close it and rename it back from data3.zip to data.pak 12. You are done.
so to confirm, I should NOT replace the weatherdata.scr in Data0.pak? My Data3.pak only has a "placeholder.file" inside it, so I placed the whole data folder inside and it isn't replacing anything. If I can confirm that its working I'll update this comment
OK so it totally works. If your Data3.pak is empty, just extract the "data" folder from the mod into it. You can open both Data3.pak and All Climates.rar with 7zip in 2 windows, and drag the data folder directly between them.

But current question is. Will it work on 1.5 ???
How can I install this mod, since I don't want to overwrite that mod's Data3 file with the one from this mod.
Thanks.
