Hey! Unfortunately I stepped down from making mods since my PC runs the game pretty bad, so I won't be updating this mod soon. But you can follow what I've talked about the "technical explanation" in the main page and mod your regulation.bin yourself, also what NekroSkill replied. Just updated some links, so you're good to go o/
Hey man, while you're at it, can you make the idle two handing weapons looks like one hand? I still think 2 handing straight swords, Katana, Axes, daggers and maces looks stupid and it always bothers me. So the only time it will 2 hand the weapon is when attacking. Well if I may be so bold, do it across the board.
It is so nice to finally see someone who has the same opinion about the dumb two-hand stance in elden ring and all other souls games. I was also trying to make the character remain in one-hand stance while two-handing weapons. In dark souls 3 I managed to do that by editing a mod with ds anim studio, but I haven't been playing ds3 so much since so I can't rememeber how to do it. And in Swordsmanship v4.03 it seems that the character still holds his weapon with two hands and get into one-hand stance only when he is moving so maybe it's not exactly the same as we want. Anyway nice work done here and I'd like to hear more about your progress. Many thanks!
Sorry about not noticing your description about Yapped. I've changed the value of Weapon Motion Position, and it seems that my character can remain in one-handed stance but cannot guard normally. The guard animation also remains in one-handed stance which means the character will hold up his left hand even if he is not holding any shields. Still thank you for sharing about Yapped, and I think I will continue searching for better ways.
Tried it out myself and kinda works, if only the 2 handed Guiard animation would work. Have you found a way so it would use the 2 handed guard animation?
Is this mod still being worked on? I am desperatly looking for a mod that changes the animation when you two hand a one handed sword (using dark souls 2 animations would be kinda cool) since I think it just looks really dumb the way the character holds it. The Swordsmanship mod, who seemed to fix that a bit in the 'next' update sadly seems like it was abandoned. Hope your still working on this and kudos to you :)
Yes, I plan to do the same with the shield, as I mentioned on the main page it's one of my main objectives. Although currently, this mod is on hold, I'm waiting for when I have more free time to continue working on these ideas.
Funny enough, Swordsmanship mod is currently testing something similar to this in for 4.03 version. In the author's testing video, he equips a sword in a two-handed stance, but when moving the sword returned to a one-handed stance animation while still performing two-handed damage. I hope once it comes out I can safely merged both of these mods together without conflict.
To be honest, before publishing this mod I searched for some combat overhaul works, but I completely missed Swordsmanship (surprisingly since I knew about Art of Tomoe lmao), so thanks for sharing. I watched the v4.03 preview video, there are some things I tried and tested through Yapped that are not exactly the same but very similar, but Troll Axethrower works modding the animation bend files and not just through params. This is the ideal though, leaving the param mods just for stats and effects. I only wonder if he will change the idle posture, like you said in the preview it only shows the player in one-handed posture during the walk animation, but when stops he assumes the standard 2-handed stance. I prefer the one-handed tho.
Watching his video also reminds me of other goals I want to achieve, very similar to both of our mods. Decided to write them in the "Some considerations" section on the main page, please check if you got interested.
It's still a testing phase, but I believe he will keep it as you saw in the video, this is to create a small visual que so that we know what stance we're still in. Better than to realize that we're not in one handed or two handed stance DURING our attack.
Yeah that makes sense, you have a good point. Probably I was thinking too much about if he will eventually add something like I mentioned in my considerations text, being able to block while full one-handed. I wonder if he will do something more like that, I'd love to see it.
