    Hello other Nexus Mods users periodically returning to this page to check on this mod.

    After joining the developers' discord and checking common mod inquiries about Rings of Talent, this is what I found out.

    I am not a developer, nor do I have any personal relation to this project, but I wanted to pass along some information regarding this project for others who were looking for similar answers.

    The Elden Ring Reforged team has focused on intentionally obfuscating and more or less encrypting their work as they do not like when other users make mod packs or use the ERR files without explicit permission, as this is considered an unauthorized redistribution of their work. This was particularly notable with a few very-large mod packs that utilized ERR and resulted in some heavy disagreements with the developers and how they feel about people using their Mod.

    As a result, other mod creators, such as the creators of this mod, Rings of Talent, have a difficult time working with anything in ERR as it has been intentionally designed that way, resulting in a extreme slow of progress, or in many cases, complete halt to any further development on mods that work alongside or utilize the code/files of ERR.

    This is not to say that Maxilos33 and the Rings of Talent developers will never finish this mod, but the amount of effort required by these creators to work around the obfuscation of ERR every time it or the Official Elden Ring client is updated is likely too much effort than its worth until we have a stable version of the game that no longer receives any more updates.

    Some additional comments from the developers state they may consider making a Standalone version of the mod that works with Vanilla + Shadow of the Erdtree, but there is no official statement and this is purely hearsay and conjecture from a fan of the mod.

    Sorry to bear the bad news to other users, but that should at least alleviate comments here on the page, and users spamming the same questions in the developer discord server.

    Huge fan of this mod and sad to see it potentially disappear, but this is what I found out so far.

    The existing version of this mod does still work with older versions of Elden Ring as well as ERR, so we can still utilize it in this manner, but we may never see it come to a more current version of the game.

      Tldr: Elden Ring Reforged mod makers are the Nintendo of modding. They don't play nice with people because they think their work is some gift from on high to us lowly mod players. God forbid people love your mod so much that they make other mods to enhance the experience further. No, that's sick. Sick and wrong.

    Huge fan of the mod but was a little disappointed that ring of the Ranger doesn't affect crossbows, nor do we get regenerating storm bolts. While this is likely intentional, are there any thoughts of creating a ring for Crossbows or including them in the Ring of the Ranger buff?

      sometime further down the line absolutely, im just kind of burned out at the moment due to the situation between ERR and unalloyed wich also has affected my mod. I will resume development tho, probably after the DLC as it is exciting to have some new tools from the DLC to work with.

      Wonderful to hear you still plan on working on this mod in the future!

      Sorry that some of the modpack drama has been redirected to you, hoping it doesn't completely deter you from the modding scene; I know players can be quite rude when it comes to mod authors.

      I am very excitedly looking forward to what you may decide to do with the new toys we get from the DLC. Love your work, thanks for the fun.

      AFAIK, the ERR authors didn't want it to be part of ER Unalloyed to keep their "vision" preserved (really weird way of looking at things considering all mods change the "vision" of the base game directly against the game's TOS to begin with, plus the fact that it still requires you to download ERR so it doesn't hurt their DL numbers), but ER Unalloyed didn't want to remove compatibility with ERR, so ERR took steps to make sure no one could use ERR without permission in any kind of modpack or anything by writing their HKS file in a weird way so people have to do merges manually. So you either use ERR as it is, or not at all. Which is a big bummer for mods like this that didn't really have anything to do with the situation, and anyone that likes ERR but doesn't like particular parts of it.

      TL;DR:
      ERR people didn't want ER:Unalloyed to allow compatibility, ER:Unalloyed people didn't wanna remove it, so ERR people made it annoying as hell for anyone to modify their mod, catching anyone that made submods for ERR in the crossfire too. ERR people have every right to write their mod however they want, but it's a pretty big loss for the community, and has generated quite a bit of toxicity, sadly.

      Hypothetically speaking, could I do my own merges for ERR for private use even if they're stingy about it? Like would it just be a normal merging process or did they literally lock it down so you can't?

    Im new to modding but I followed all the steps, and for some reason when I use the modengine launchmod_eldenring.bat, it launches to the ERR splash screen but then doesnt load seamless coop. Im not sure if Im just bad at this or missing a step somewhere...

    Soooo it's probably impossible to play with mod with the up to date ERR versions right? I loved the holy trinity of ERR, Seamless and Rings of talent.. but I cant deal with this old ass version of ERR sadly :(

      Knowing how the ERR team treats other mods and such, as well as mod merging, yeah, it's probably gonna be impossible, especially since they hard-locked anyone from modifying the up-to-date versions of Reforged.

      omg same dude. that has been the best version of elden ring that my friends and i played. I really hope they do an unalloyed again with dlc support.

    Any chance we can get Frenzied Flame incantations to work with Ring of Kindling? I know there's no Frenzy Flame buff, but even just normal flame would be good. If not all good, mod looks great, will def be using on next playthrough

    i dont suppose a non installer version of the mod will be available again anymore will it? cause whenever my friend tries to use the installer on his steam deck it doesnt work

    if not, there isnt any big issue as we can just ignore the mod, i just figured id ask to be sure

      sadly no, the convinience on my side to not need to repack the mod 3 times a week due to ERR updates is just too high for me to consider also providing manual patching files. if you are on pc and your friend on SD tho you can just send him your patched version via google drive and he can unpack it.

    Does anyone know if the dragonknight class only coats 1 weapon or 2 when dual wielding?
