About this mod
Sword Mastery is an entire game overhaul, including;

IF YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT DEFLECTS, THE SEKIRO DEFLECT MOD IS NOT SUPPORTED, AND MAY NOT BE SUPPORTED FOR A LONG TIME.

Do you hate the old Elden Ring cycle of Roll -> Roll -> Roll -> Force yourself to delay a Roll because the boss will stunlock you to death if you don't -> Get one R1 in before the boss flips and twirls away before starting another attack sequence? Well, I've got you covered!
Sword Mastery is a COMPLETE and UTTER TRANSFORMATION of the combat system in Elden Ring.
In Elden Ring, boss movesets are very complex and fast. Bosses can dodge player attacks, chain different attacks based on your positioning and actions, and have much higher mobility, whereas the vanilla Elden Ring player moves as slow as (or even slower, in some cases) than a Dark Souls 3 character, despite the bosses that we face getting massively buffed. This mod evens the playing field out, breathing fresh life into bland, uninspired, and unrealistic movesets, allowing the player to do certain things bosses can do, such as reposition themselves with an attack, chain different types of attacks with different properties, speeds, etc..., and this allows for a much more dynamic system of combat.
Of course, certain bosses have been changed to be faster and more aggressive to compensate for the player's greatly increased killing potential, but this is not to say the mod is easier or harder, just an entirely new way to play Elden Ring.
THIS MOD IS SEAMLESS CO-OP COMPATIBLE, information on how to achieve this can be found within the Discord.

How To Install Base Sword-Mastery
1) Download These Files: https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/1890
https://github.com/soulsmods/ModEngine2/releases -Scroll to the bottom and click on assets, get the Elden Ring version
2) Go to your Elden Ring /game Folder, Open the mod engine 2 zip file, transfer all items from that file into your /game folder.
3) Unpack the swordmas zip and register the folder in your modengine toml.

Major Changes - General
Combat has been entirely overhauled, every weapon will have new move set branches triggered by combining light and heavy attacks in different order. Also a new mechanic "deflections" and "clashing" has been introduced.
Reinforcements now max out at +5 and +11, this is to give you the opportunity to max out more weapons as you're not expected to use the same weapon through the whole game due to enemy resistances.
Weapons have new move sets
Combat
Deflection System - Deflecting is similar to a Sekiro Deflect or a "Perfect Block" from other games. Block at the right time and you will take 100% reduced physical damage and deal small amounts of posture damage to the enemy. Deflect consumes Flow.
Weapon Clashing - During your swings, you can press L1 to Clash, which is basically a mid-swing Deflect. Clash consumes Flow.
Dodging - Get hit in the first 0.1sec of a dodge and it's a perfect dodge. You gain +0.4sec of immunity plus a generous heaping of Flow and timeslow.
Weapon Combos - Weapon Combos have been entirely overhauled and changed, each weapon to a varying degree of completion. All combos in Sword Mastery function on a branching system.
There is a basic R1 combo, a dodging r1, and a running r1/standing r2. The first 2 r1s can chain into combo chains, where it goes r1 r2 r2 or something.
Whether a weapon can do a hold R2 is determined by a white glimmer, and whether the combo itself can continue is dependant if the red fire is there.
Experiment with combos and different infusions to see what happens!
Bosses
Boss speed and the settings of your difficulty can be set in the wondrousPhysick/AllEnemies.lua file. Bosses are generally faster, and some can pull out combos.
Revamped boss list: Margit, Godrick, Rennala, Morgott (partially).
